Ryan Coogler did a lot of great stuff before Black Panther, but I think that's what's going to push his name fully into the mainstream.
Creed didn’t do that? It was a huge deal when they got him for Black Panther.
Black Panther is the follow up that acts as confirmation imo. A bit like Denis Villeneuve was good with Sicario, but the 1,2 followup of Arrival and Blade Runner mean I will follow that man anywhere

Same writer did it for Last Jedi
He says it's for people who want to stay current in the conversation around things but hate going to the theater or just don't want to stress about being spoiled
There's ample warning in the headline and several blocking paragraphs at the top of the article before he gets into anything
I feel like he could at least wait until it's out to the general public, because now's he given the people who are dicks about it ammo.
+3

io9 or AVClub will make their headlines about character deaths in approximately a day or two anyways.
I stopped going to these sites after their layout became ugly, so I guess I'm just not concerned about that
I'm just speaking for me, but if I don't want to find out about something, it's fairly easy to avoid it. I don't google things I don't want to know about fairly often, I rarely use Youtube nowadays aside from a few channels, and my only Twitter exposure is usually directly from this forum when stuff's embedded in threads I view
I know The Force Awakens was a similarly giant event, but I didn't really know anything about it until 2 or 3 weeks later when I finally watched it
And the international thing is another excellent point. There was a big movie recently (I forget which it was exactly, but I want to say it was Ragnarok) that had its release internationally before America, and fans were upset that spoilers were being posted on the internet...by international fans...who had just viewed the film and wanted to talk about it and their experience with and thoughts on it. And it came off really weird and kinda gross to me because it seemed like because America wasn't first in this one particular instance of viewing something, the fans who were were expected to just stay silent about their thoughts on the film because it was unfair a film legally released there first? Meanwhile (for example) Australia just had to deal with Americans talking about John Wick 2 and how fun it was, and even talking about the sequel they didn't know about yet, for like 6 months before it even premiered there
Isn't a few hours from now still just Wednesday evening even the farther ahead timezones? Is international getting a Thursday release instead of a Friday like us? I thought they were doing simultaneous everywhere?

We don't have time to see this together until Monday, but I did get us really good seating for a 4DX showing. I made a joke about if Thanos wrecks somebody hard enough those seats better break my ribs, really put me in the moment.

Honestly if you’re able to walk away after that scene from the trailer then I’m going to consider it a failure.

Spielberg-esque everyday name recognition.
“Hey, did you hear the Russo’s have a new movie coming out?”
It hasn’t really worked that way for any of the other marvel directors yet.
Creed didn’t do that? It was a huge deal when they got him for Black Panther.
I still want Red Skull to come back
He’s somewhere out there!
Leader too

Just go by yourself.
Don't even need to, since I did convince someone to go with me.
I really hope this is true as it's the most interesting angle to me
They've paid lip service to the idea before, but I've been doubtful just based on the trailers

Why the fuck would they do that.
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic
Maybe they think it's like ripping the plaster off? Or sweet sweet clicks.
It's the move of a colossal arsehole though.

Because they got tired of being invited to Marvel premieres?

There's nothing spoilery in the title or the url, so it's better treatment than most clickbait sites would pull
Steam
This is what I'm referring to.
Don't fucking do it before it's released to the general public.
Posting it now really makes no difference
I got spoiled on a lot of my Marvel and DC shows over the past few weeks because of just a shitty headline of "XXX's death scene by YYY"
Coran Attack!
I am not international.
I am in a place where the movie will not actually exist for the general public until Thursday night.
They could've fucking waited a week. Y'know, like a considerate person.
Even if one can't stop the assholes from winning, at least try to make it hard I guess?

Like I get not wanting to read spoilers but saying sites can't talk about it when the film is legit out in parts of the world is kinda nuts
Especially if the sites preface the posts with tons of warnings like this one

Over here Thursday is "new movies day", it's very rare to see something actually open on a Friday
At the time you made this post I was a bit over an hour into the movie.
I guess I could post stuff, but that seems like it'd be pointless if no one else has seen it yet.
I liked it.

Will I be happy with what goes down
it's hard to tell, actually!
the article is just a list of big moments with little context
