Purchasing Bowling Shoes

So, I have absolutely no idea what brands are good. I did a rough Google search, and have come across shoes that range from $20-30, and then have this huge jump to $150. I'm not a terrific bowler, but I do like to bowl, and since my campus has a bowling alley, I'm thinking about picking up a bowling pass to bowl there. I know you can't buy crappy shoes, as you won't be able to glide properly, and might even trip as you bowl. So...H/A, help me, :p As well, leave some tips

*edit*Shoe sizes, I've noticed that I usually have to go down half a size when I'm at a bowling alley, is this true for most people? Or I just like to wear big shoes normally?

Get some Dexter shoes, and $20-30 is perfectly fine for a non-professional bowler. I am a good bowler, but by no means a pro, and I wear like $30 Dexters, and they work just great. As far as size goes, just stick with whatever shoe size you normally wear when you buy them, and make sure you know the return policy in case they don't fit. Alley shoes are usually a little bigger than normal shoes. Like I said, just know the return policy.
