Basically the only thing that keeps Tess' hero power balanced is that you're not making a custom deck with it, you have to pick random cards from random buckets
The fact that it costs 2 mana keeps it pretty balanced as well. Many encounters will steamroll you if you spend most your turns hero powering.
many encounters will steamroll you if you have a hand of 8 ragnaroses as well but that doesn't make ragnaros not an incredibly powerful card
Ragnaros isn't a hero power so I don't even know what your point is here.
Edit: Unless it's to agree that having to Tess hero power from turns 2-7 will leave you in shitty shape!
I won with Shaw because I was making 3/3 dogs with Rush for my hero power.
Toki...sucks. I've gotten to the final boss with her but she still sucks. I often lose to the first boss because nothing rolls right even after a reroll.
Toki would be significantly more fun to play if there wasn't 10 seconds of animations to watch every time you want to have arcane missiles go all face a second time.

That was my immediate thought the first time I watched that animation: this is going to get really annoying.

I mean, I did basically that with Jade Shuriken and it worked pretty good!

So this was an easy fight. Mage Quest + Enhance-a-Matic (both for free) meant a turn 3 quest completion.

I realized the quest actually specifically only wanted you to play the tracker, so I figured I'd go back for the pack. Lose to Shivers with a hand of a leeching poison and seven deadly poisons because I drew precisely one of my seven weapons.
My easiest Tracker run was 1 Kingsbane/Deadly/Leeching and the rest just minions where I stalled until I make a massive Kingsbane with upgraded hero power.
Naturally I lose the next game to the guy that makes his minions cost 1 less each turn. Because the Enhance-a-Matic and Antonidas were at the bottom of my deck. RIP!

I think Tools of the Trade might unseat Wax Rager as the most broken active treasure, but you still gotta draw it.
I'm still having zero luck with Toki. I don't think there is a good solution with here except getting lucky on treasures and bosses and cards. Finished everyone else.

Finally finished up the priest dungeon yesterday morning, completely cheesed the final boss with the adapt-per-boss wand making a 20/20 lightspawn with windfury

I think Tracker is my favorite. Her hero power and suite of cards are just perfect together

Cannoneer is my favorite so far, and while I haven't tried Toki I've been lead to believe it won't be fun.

Tracker, Cannoneer, and Huntmaster all feel really cool in their own unique ways. Toki just feels bad.
i had the opposite experience! loved playing tempo-casino-quest mage with toki and cruised right through, while the first two hunters have given me more troubles. just clocked it with tess and i still have the cannoneer to win with.

+2 Health for minions
-1 Mana to spells
9/9 Taunt with Divine Shield
Also had the usual assortment of Apprentices, Flamewalkers, Mana Wyrms, and Archmagi.
In the end, I couldn’t go infinite, but 1-Mana Fireballs were enough.

That guy and Gnomenapper are more or less unbeatable in my experience.
If nothing else though, this does a great job confirming that I am in fact an incredibly unlucky player.

oh welllll
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
His turn 3 was playing a spell that completely filled his board with stuff. Not sure how I was supposed to beat that!
There's no flexibility, you pick the windfury one and stack seven deadly poisons on it. Kills bosses right quick.
Edit: And I said active treasure, most passive treasures outclass most active treasures since you don't rely on drawing them.
All 9 done and now on to the monster hunt!

They should have gone much further with her hero power. Redoing random effects is fine but it’s kinda boring compared to everyone else.
It should have been Hero Power: Restart your Turn and Shuffle your Deck or something like that.
And then lots of ways to get extra uses out of the hero power as you get further into the witchwood.

All of the 6 and 7 mana bosses basically feel like personal insults.
That was a final boss, though.
He's just Kingsbane rogue, Forlorn Lovers is the mill boss
