I don't have a good shaman deck right now. Even shaman is good, eh? Obviously I'd have to craft Genn since I don't have him. Let's see what else is in the deck, though. Oh, I don't have Al'akir or Hagatha. Another deck that'd cost me 5,000 dust to try... Whee.
Al'akir is tough to do without - it provides a ton to corpsetaker, and also can close out games real well - but Hagatha is probably replaceable. Without thinking about it very hard, I'd consider just slapping a second Argent Commander in the list to replace her. Playing Hagatha enables going for value when your main game plan fails, while getting another charge minion in the list will hopefully give you more chances to close out the game before needing that value.
Even warlock is also exceptionally good right now, maybe see if you've got the pieces to run that if you make Genn?

But I like my zoolock. Even though 50% of games are basically autolose turn 1 due to counter decks/Waldoseth.
I mentioned shaman specifically because my shaman deck right now is a homebrew-ish Waldoseth/elemental affair I threw together with what I have, but sometimes I need to win shaman games.
It’s like Big Spell Mage, except that it doesn’t have spells, and it’s fun.
It may be fun, but it's not good. I just went 0-5 at rank 5 with this. How does it win any games? Paladins and rogues just build big boards and run you over.
Jaina has always been my most hated DK. She's still a little bit fun to play against. Her conditional hero power makes for some fun Defile-style maths. And then your opponent has the perfect spell in hand to get your minions to 1 health anyway.
Generally, if I can't kill her on the first or second turn she arrives, it's all over and they'll be back to full health.
You spend 8 turns playing a sub par deck and then you play Frost Lich Jaina on nine and you win because its a broke as fuck card.
Or you die the turn after you play it because you're too far behind. Jaina is crazy, but not a miracle worker.
Also without reliable spells like Blizzard/Flamestrike/Poly in the other mage decks that run Jaina, it's probably harder to consistently get minions to 1 health?
i feel like you could literally cut shimmering tempest for primordial glyph and the deck would function 10x better
Glyphs get discarded from Book of Specters and don't increase elemental synergy.
yeah and sometimes you draw patches on turn 1
(or more aptly, sometimes your book discards your other book!)
adding in glyphs means you have four spells total, i don't think that really messes things up too badly. glyph is just way too fucking good to not run.
you've also got plenty of other good elementals in there, i think cutting the weakest link is probably a good idea

Glyphs bring it up to six spells total. And reduced synergies. And one fewer prime Water Elemental target.

yeah alright, i can see it now

I haven't played the deck so I can't say for sure but from a deck building perspective going from 4 spells to 6 really isn't that big a difference.

there is nothing more aggravating than a quest priest dropping amara then playing zola on amara then playing baleful banker
Yeah, I'm a little curious how many of elemental mage's matchups are actually going to come down to winning by outvaluing the opponent. I'm sure if you draw just right you might survive some aggro decks long enough to get the Jaina heal train going some of the time. You're probably not going to outvalue the big greed bags like Taunt druid.

it generates a lot of mid game value and is a fun deck to play, but it's tier 2 at best
Just hit Rank 5. Only started playing Standard this season yesterday.
Had a lot of back and forth nonsense with various Hunter decks then decided to take up @Shen 's Quest Warrior list since he was having success with it on EU.
The quick summary for weird things like Stonehill and Shimmering Tempest is that they're early cards you can play without reducing your hand size and making your Mountain Giants more expensive.
My own experiments with Elemental Mage suggest that if you're going to add spells, add Polymorph before Glyph. Looking at HSReplay, the win rate is not as high in general play as Kibler reports, so another "secret" to playing it is probably to be Brian Kibler.
HSReplay does suggest that the deck is pretty good against most control decks, and not so good against aggro. So if you're facing an endless stream of odd paladin and odd rogue, you'll probably have a bad day.
I want to make a rogue deck focusing on death rattles. And I want it to make use of my Muppet Master legendary which hasn't seen use since Witchwood started. Suggestions?
So I caved and bought 5 packs of the current deal
I got Lillian Voss and Splintergraft
Hmm
But I am back at over 4k in dust I just find it sad I have not bought classic cards just did the brawl for them and yet I keep getting repeats

It is maddening how quickly every classic pack becomes 40 dust despite missing huuuuge portions of the set, including commons.
Shudderwock Shaman drops Mana Tide Totems on T3 and T4. I was Kathrena Hunter. I didn’t have a very explosive hand, and I had minimal guys on board, so I thought: why not leave them up and force the Shaman into really awkward plays or risk burning cards? I figured it was my best game plan available at that point.
Never go full Mana Tide.

shimmering tempest is a really weak card
also stonehill defenders seem weird? i'm not really sure why the deck wants those, there aren't really any like mage-specific taunt cards...

Build up big hands fast and drop T4 Mountain Giants. Drop Jaina and play control. Use your elementals to completely outvalue the other player.
If you're 0-10, you've either been horribly unlucky, or you're not playing the deck appropriately.
Glyphs get discarded from Book of Specters and don't increase elemental synergy.

it's too slow and doesn't generate enough value to win against aggro, and its whole endgame is just the hero card anyway
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat

Final boss was Hadronox Druid which was nice to turn the tables on after all the nonsense stomps they put me through yesterday.
He played Hadronox and then used Naturalise. I brawled away the board and next turn he played 2x Witching Hour which gave him two nice little raptors.
And I cackled like a maniac.
Kibler talks about the deck himself here:
