Radar did come to mind. It's almost too obvious, lol
If just calling him Radar is too on the nose, what about radar related names, like the character Radar from MASH whose actual name was Walter Eugene O'Reilly, or the actor who played him, that was Gary Burghoff?
Your pupper could be Walter?

Walter isn't much of a name for a lady dog.
We went with Luna. Scratches girlfriend's Harry Potter itch and I think it works. Way better the name her original owner's gave her: Baby Bootsie. A name like that would make a dog want to eat a chocolate bar and hang itself.
So the local Seattle freshwater aquarium auction was this past Saturday. I used that opportunity as an excuse to break down my 100 gallon turtle tank and redo it from the ground up. The turtles have gotten big enough that they mostly don't completely burrow anymore, so I moved from a sand to an actual substrate in the hopes I could have plants last more than 20-30 minutes without getting uprooted. A couple days later and things are looking good!
I am fairly certain the people at the auction think I'm insane every year, because I kept bidding on the huge mother plants that don't reasonably fit in most people's aquariums.
And my prize pickup, a mid sized Royal Pleco with some awesome coloring, and who so far, has been very social and not skittish in the tank at all.

All dogs and cats should have people names
All other small critters should have non-people names
All horses should sound like they were named by an 11 year old girl.
These are the rules by which I live my life.

I will one day own two dogs from the same litter and name them "Biscuits" and "Gravy" and I fucking dare you to stop me

Buddy, I do not make the rules, I just enforce them*
One of my cats really enjoys watching videos of birds on my laptop, so I think so. He could also just be reacting to shapes and colors moving around, though.

One of my old dogs reacted to horses (and other horse like creatures) on TV. Even muted.
Maybe it's just reacting to shapes/movement, but he'd charge at the TV when there was a horse or similar on it, but never with other animals. He seemed to have a real dislike for Donkey from Shrek for some reason.
Just anecdotal of course, but I'm pretty sure dogs can view video, even if they don't understand what they're seeing. I'm sure some are smarter and realize that it's not real, but Freddie was not one of the sharper dogs.
Most mammalian eyes can see video fine, framerate is usually the factor that matters most
Our dogs only get really into watching TV if there are other dogs on it. But one of Mabel's brothers is obsessed with a kids tv show that has squeaky handpuppets. Apparently you can keep him occupied for hours with it.
My sister's malamute used to run behind the TV to look for animals, I guess she thought it was a window.
edit: sometimes when I skype home my dad calls Uschi over to say hi, but he often gets pissy at me and starts barking. Probably annoyed I'm sitting in a weird box and not patting him.
Mabel has another berner friend she knows only through video calls.

My dog has never really acknowledged anything on a screen
Certainly reacts to sounds in media though. Any game where you whistle for a horse (zelda, horizon zd, red dead) can be real annoying to play because I know if I hit that button he'll react
I think the "dogs can't watch TV" came from back during the CRT era of TVs because of their very low resolution (go back and watch old shows). I think it was very blurry for dogs and cats so they had a harder time deciphering things not sound.
HD tv on the other hand is much easier for them to see.
not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me
Some breeds or even just individual dogs are way less visually attentive. I've found berners are much more visual than most of our previous dogs, but then they've been bred to be hyper-attentive to people's faces (they make a lot of eye contact, for example, which is unusual for dogs unless they're being deliberately aggressive).
And on the flip side we had a retriever who was gradually going blind for ages before we even realised, because she was so good at orienting by sound and smell and she never really gave a toss about purely visual phenomena.
I didn't know friendly eye contact gazing was unusual, I wonder whether my dog does it in a friendly way or an aggressive way. She seems to like me but maybe I've been intimidating her without realizing it.

My sister posts snapchats of her Siberian watching dogs on TV all the time. He gets real excited at other huskies on the tube.

No, it's subtle enough. In fact you could say it just flies under...

I know of a horse called Boots. Because he's chestnut all over except for four white "socks".

So, were the cats adopted to match the baskets, or were the baskets purchased to match the cats?
