I got a photo of all the cats sleeping on the same bed! Apologies for the crap quality photo, but I had to stealthily take this photo before anyone woke up.
This fuckin' dog will not play like this in the house, nor will she play like this when I'm in the yard with her. Not sure what I can do, but thought I'd share the cute moment on this day of great anxiety.
Luna's interest in human food is very unusual. She's not exclusively a meat eater but she lacks any excitement at any scraps that aren't meat. My brother's dogs will vacuum up anything that is inadvertently dropped on the floor whether its a carrot or a popcorn kernel. Luna might get the popcorn kernel but not before licking it once and then staring at it for a minute.
But she won't touch the carrot. She couldn't care less about vegetables or fruit.
Parker will demand carrots if I have one. Then he takes it and either drops it on the floor and begs for another, or breaks it in half. Then gets disappointed there's no marrow and begs for another.
Christ. Mabel is the only one of our dogs who even bothers to check if something is nominally food before swallowing.
see I say this and then I guess at some point yesterday she ate a blind cord and this morning has required some (very delicate) assistance with the rear string-ectomy procedure.

Jack is definitely a source of arcane wisdom, if I could just get him to open up to me.
Houdini has been terrified since she came in, and having to get spayed yesterday didn't help, but I'm pretty sure the lowest point was when she had to take her dewormer. She can't believe I would betray her so casually:

Jail for Zimbra! Jail for Zimbra for one thousand years!
I love this video (these are not our doggos) because it perfectly encapsulates the berner attitude to dealing with problems: "look at it sadly and hope really hard"
Has a dog ever been so drooly? Nobody knows for sure.

Tommy went home last night and Handsome Jack is going home today so unfortunately for me (but fortunately for them!) it is no longer big boy season at the rescue.
Still got lots of good kitties, though. Like the very handsome boy Kato:
Or Luna, who is a perfect little gentlecat:

Yeah. I just called the vet then, they’ve done scans, and the good news I guess is that it is still in his stomach (it hasnt lodge in his intestines and tore anything). They offered to do an endo and try and pull it out of his throat, and it would be cheaper but if they couldn’t do it they’d have to do surgery anyway, but to me it seemed pretty hard to pull something that large back up the oesophagus so he’s getting sliced open in like two hours now.

He’s home now and keeps banging his cartoonishly large Elizabethan collar into things and I can’t stop giggling. I refuse to feel bad about laughing at my dumb dog, especially after everything he’s just put all of us - himself included - through.
I am just so relieved he’s okay and back home. They could have kept him another night but felt that he was doing well enough to try being at home.

Handsome Jack looks like a wise old muppet
And Tommy has the biggest head I've ever seen on a cat. It's like a dang melon.
Both of them are big ol' sweethearts

I am annoyed with him.

I love him so much.

We actually just got back from seeing him. He’s still pretty out of it. So much so he turned down chicken. So I know it’s been tough on him.

Her purrs are so good, y’all
Houdini and Gardenia are still incredibly shy with people, but at least they have each other.
I'm off of cat duty this week and thank goodness. I love them, but 13 is too many kitties.
Several months ago, shortly after this whole quarantine began, I got a tiny snek.
Neapo's gotten quite a bit bigger since then.
And was starting to look cramped in her ten gallon tank.
So, last weekend I went out for a little retail therapy and opted to upgrade her living conditions.
This is an in progress shot, about 3/4 the way through setting it up.
And here's her tank in it's permanent (?) location. You can't see her because she is being a sneaky snek under the pothos on the left.
I worry I may only see her come feeding time now...
