Got bored, so I changed my Jagermech's loadout to 6 HMGs, an AMS, and 2 LPLs (originally 2 ER PPCs). The Jager's range of aiming up and down is really pathetically bad for sniping shots. I did just now however catch two enemies on a (what turned out to be solo) flank mission; the first guy I surprised and he ate it immediately, I have no idea how damaged he was but it counted as a solo kill. His buddy rounded the corner, and it took a couple more seconds, but he too ate it. Then the entire enemy team shot me at once.
Edit - Back on the ER PPCs, more fun.
The Shadow Hawk's ablative "entire left side" sure came in handy, too!
For your Timberwolf, there's a Left Side torso omnipod with super high mounts.
2 ERPPCs in that guy, targeting comp 7, 5-6 ERSLs, with the rest heatsinks. And the +velocity skillpoints.
One of my favourite Timberwolf builds. The ERPPCs go so fast, and so far.
It’s not a very important country most of the time

... Well shit. Gimme 1 hour...
@evilbob viva Blobfish!
was a four/four and a half skull mission... went in fairly heavy, Atlas, Highlander, Stalker and a Grasshopper.
Moved forward, contact! firestarter! he moves up, shoots his Mlasers at my grasshopper... i reserve, Awesome appears next and connects with two PPC's on my Grasshopper.
On my turn i open up with my highlander, using an aimed shot to take out its (right?) torso, the one with two ppc's, manage to do it.
Then i unsteady both the firestarter and awesome with my Stalker LRM boat, i knock the awesome over with the Grasshopper then core it out with the Atlas.
Next round the fire starter once again shoots his Mlasers at my Grasshopper, then by the end of the round he is knocked down and cored out.
'Mission Success!'
Literally two Mechs. a Light and an 80ton Assault.
From memory this is the first mission over two (or maybe even one!) skull that hasn't had at least a full lance of mechs and another full 'lance' of either vehicles or Mechs.
Woo!!
Sounds like you've already played past the refund point. On the off chance you haven't, BATTLETECH is still on sale for a Steam key for $31.94 on WinGameStore (who are reputable and who I've used before with no issues).

Then again I was in two orions, a grasshopper, and a thunderbolt.
Yeah, uh, you're easily 80+ tons above the typical lance weight for that mission.
Look at the active factions on the systems. I haven't gotten to the endgame, but just looking I know I've seen some in Fed Sun and Free Worlds that had Draconis Combine and Lyrian listed as active factions. A couple with Comstar too.
Did that with a lance of 4 meds. Both Glitch and Medusa died in that mission and I only killed 1 of 2 convoy vehicle.
Uh, yeah. I know. But I haven’t found those missions yet. Pleasure cruise Argo continues...
I have 2 TBolts, an Orion, an Awesome(but I might swap it out for something faster) that usually run with a Cent or Kintaro.
4 ML / 2 SRM6 Treb is sexy tho...
Highlanders are great. The -733 with an AC20 and 4 SRM6 makes for a brutal close range assault, the -733P makes a good LRM/fire support mech.

Sadly, there is no way for the Urbie to be catching a piggy back ride from the King Crab.
But how cool would that be?
So yeah on that note, what's the most health pips an enemy pilot has in the campaign? I'm finding that yes I do need to start fishing for head hits as I'm starting to encounter heavies and specialist mediums
My next mission was a battle that featured two K2's, a Quickdraw 4g, a Thunderbolt 5SE, a Jager, a Battlemaster 1G, a KGC and a Stalker 3-F
I paid a heavy price for that contract.
Totally worth it though. I just recently finally got a King Crab. I wonder if I would have made the same trade off after Grave Robbing. That's a ton of +'s to have lost. I find myself constantly needing more of those than anything else. Stock gear is for losers.
I want to see a mode you're in a single Mech armed with nothing but an AC/5, and you have to face off against a horde of Urbanmechs with no head armor.
What the Urbies really need is their big brother.
The Imp
733 is a better LRM boat. 4 missile points across 2 locations. You can get up to LRM 80, although I dialed it back to 65 for armor, copious ammo and heatsinks.

3 LLas and a PPC generates 130 heat for 195 damage. 1 Exchanger and 14 heat sinks means I sink 85 of that heat, so I should be able to alpha twice at 45 a go before I need to rest
Surprising nobody, PGI is bad at maths. The current May Day challenge is the cbill 'challenge'. Basically, earn 6 million cbills in matches, get another 6 million injected (broken up in 1mil, 2mil, and 3mil tiers). Apparently, going from 20mil to 29.7mil counts as a 12 million cbill gain. :rotate:
EDIT - ahh...and now that coffee is flowing through me, I see how it works. It's not earn 1 million, another 2 million, and another 3 million...it's 1mil+1mil+1mil (for 1, 2, and 3)...adding up to a total of 9mil. I had feeling something wonky was going on.
Wat
They have been redoing a lot of the mechs. Which is why we have the current versions of the mechs in BT (both game and tabletop). They haven't done all of them yet.

Yeah, some Dawn of War sync kill style finishers would be awesome.
I was watching a video the other day and apparently HBS has ONE animator. Hats off to that brave soul. They should probably get some more help in that area.
Are you serious? Wow, having played 99 hours now, I can say that that is one heroic individual. Hat's off!
