So i explored the map and found the shootables I thought I'd find on my own and found a guide online. Now I'm at 43/45, and I'm unsure of which one I've missed. I know one of them is a javelin shootable that I just have to wait for an event to happen around.

The other, I'm not sure. The headache is knowing which one in the guide as I was going through that I just missed it, aside from the ones that I actually already just had.
But that was enough to get the exotic sword. I haven't tried it out but it looks pretty cool and the traits are neat?

on pc the pvp has the worst feeling of any shooter ive played in the last 10 years

the game has nearly zero hit response from enemies, the worst implementation of networking and generally awful floaty movement for a pvp game

it just isnt really fit for purpose - it is faintly astonishing they havent considered dedicated servers?

They have considered - and rejected - pure dedicated servers. They have a weird hybrid model where things like physics are calculated on a dedicated server but other things are done on a p2p basis. D1 didn’t have the dedicated physics host part of the solution but they did do a talk at GDC about how they chose what they did.

However, the thing they don’t mention is that at half a billion dollars to develop and barely bettering that in revenue a pure dedicated server model would have tipped that scale.

As far as I can tell Bungie is basically running the same networking solution that they developed initially for Halo 2 and it is really frustrating.
They aren’t, hence the lack of rubber banding during coop and the fact that host migrations are entirely transparent to the player despite occurring approximately every 160 seconds on average.

You can always start an Escalation Protocol, find one of the Valkyrie vents, "Dispel the Corruption" and get the Valkyrie to shoot the thingie and then leave.

I think I have one or two of those but I'll have to check, I used two already for the other two that exist. I just didn't want to cause a headache for the rest of the server for me to get one little thing.

It's possible that the one i'm missing is on that huge bridge area thing but I can't tell, ugh I'll have to look again

Hey guys! Haven't logged into Destiny in a while. Never got around to doing Raid Lair 1. Logged in yesterday and got my character to 340 and started doing the new campaign. The new Raid Lair looks like it's super challenging. Hopefully I can find some of the old crew.

ye i saw the gdc talk ages ago

i dont mean generically - i understand why they do what they do for pve which works fine - but for pvp the p2p model adds so much disgusting jank. given how much people enjoy pvp i think it would have been worth the effort to go for dedicated specifically for that, although i suppose its possible they stuck the p2p model so deep into the engine that its impossible to disentangle

I dunno, I was having a lot more fun in Heroic Strikes last night now that they require paying attention and not just sprinting past 80% of the enemies to get to the boss. I dunno if I'd do them ad infinitum but that's more an issue with rewards than the content itself.

    Honestly

I did have fun doing strikes last night with the melee instakills

We got through the 5 strikes I needed for Ikelos pretty easily, only wipe a couple times through the whole thing. The only strike we nope'd out of at the beginning was Exodus Down

So far progression without Coo levels is pretty tough, I died like 5 times on the opening mission because I was 20LL short of the recommended light. I also find it funny items drop at my LL around 305 but I can't put them on because I was lvl21 yet.

Mars patrol zone is neat but stinks to be locked out of so much to start. Story is the same old safe, boring stuff where papa Zavala gets mad you played with his toys and then lets you do it anyway. I guess I'm going into PvP now, haven't played since the gotta go fast update so we'll see how it goes.

I haven't done any of the new heroic strikes yet.

I queued up yesterday despite being 346 and the presence of the melee instakill mod because I wanted to work on something even if it was frustrating.
Sat in the queue for a while and then it put me into one of the CoO strikes alone. So I guess avoiding that queue (at least on melee instakill day) is pretty common.

I like the idea of mods for the strikes playlist because it gives me an incentive to play a different way from my norm. If it's a particular burn I can swap out some gear that normally collects dust and try it out because it fits what I'm trying to do/avoid. I never use the exotic warlock wing armor, for example, but I'll dust that shit off and put it on for an Airborne modifier.

That said, some of the mods are just "fuck you, I hope you like hard because it's harder now, period" like Trickle, Glass, and Blackout. Those aren't interesting. As optional things to give you more points they're pretty cool, conceptually, but as across-the-board things that make some strikes just punishingly, stupidly difficult I feel like they're missing the mark.
