With CG Lid and Nichol having LB’s you want to use a lot, switching up my TMR group. Are the LB generating tmrs worth it? I put in iNichol in for the MP boost, refresh, and lb generation.
Lid can equip fists, so that gives her a boost. For Nichol, i was thinking P.Jakes ring for hp and LB. Pure white blessing and iNichols tmr. Adding CG lids tmr would get him to 6 lb per turn. Since he needs 36, not sure how worth it is over say Helena’s TMR and other high tide type items.
When Item World opens up, daggers can get High Tide. If you have a Bowie Knife get High Tide on it for CGNichol. His offhand is usually empty anyway, and getting an additional source of High Tide is fantastic.
Good idea. I was thinking Ulric's Kukri might be a good one as well as it has MP built in. Right now I have him using clown staff for the HP+10%.
EDIT: I'll give him a shot with goggles, PWB, Ignorance, and P.Jake's Ring and see how useful the LB generators are compared to high tide like items.
So playing with FFBE builder this morning, going with too many ignorance's (or equivalent) just doesn't seem to work as it leaves his HP way to low. It seems safe to spare 2 Materia spots (one with PWB for MP refresh) and 1 Accessory. So there's 2 options,
A) Throw goggles/CG Lid's TMR in the accessory slot and Ignorance in the materia slot. This combined with PWB, P.Jakes Ring, and Magical Hat would give him 8 LB crysts per turn. Without any other source, it would take 5 turns to get his LB up.
Throw Mythical Skull in the acc spot and Mog Wisdom in the Materia spot. This would give 100% LB fill boost.
The question I guess is how many Crysts do we see drop generally? For option B to be better, he'd have to see at least 2 crysts come his way per turn.
If I don't have to use CG Lid (break immune), I could remove Mog Wisdom and PWB for DW and Use Grapple Weapons to get him 200% boost.
Don't forget you also have other options for increased LB fill rate from other support units or from Rikku's Pouch. The number of LB crystals you get is also largely affected by the unit that is attacking and if you are chaining. I think you can safely assume you will see at least 2 crystals fall CG Nichol's way on every turn. You can always try it out in the MK Story Replay mode so it doesn't cost you any NRG to test.
Also, there are a lot of bosses these days that cannot be broken so you will not need to bring both CG Lid and CG Nichol very often.
Yep, that is very true. If I'm lucky and can get high tide on a dagger, he should be sitting at around 200% + 150%+ boost from his own abilities or others. Additionally I forgot about Mood Maker, which gives him a 200% boost for the first 3 turns.
CG Lids TMR is tempting as well though. 35MP, plus another auto-heal, 10% MP refresh, and 2 LB crystals.
I'm just curious... A max CG Nichol's LB enhances everyone marginally more than his abilities:
LB max:
Increase ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR (134%) for 3 turns to all allies
Remove ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR break from all allies
Recover HP/MP (20%) to all allies
Soulful Stance:
Increase ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR (100%) for 2 turns to all allies
Heal (3000 HP, 9x) split over 2 turns to all allies
Basically his LB goes from 110% stat increase to 134% and that's it. 24% for the amount of LB pots is insane. Why is his worth it? CG Lid I get since the breaks are a higher decrease.

CGNichol's MP costs are pretty crazy, even with MP refresh. If you build him for his LB instead, you can ameliorate that problem and get a spot MP/HP heal as well.

Aren’t buffs essentially linear in terms of the stat increase? 110->124 is the same benefit as 86–>110? So the delta is about the same as the gap from Lunera to Ramza, but remember that the way stats are used isn’t linear, i.e. (ATK-DEF)^2, thus making each point added worth more than the last.
Breaks are still stronger though, due to affecting the stat totals, (mob base stats are the total stat).
E* Originally I had thought there was a difference on margin too, but thinking about it more I was wrong.
On JP side the next banner is The Orders, with Eego (the Malboro rider) and Nagi as the 5* bases. Neat.
Some speculation on my part. Spoiler'd in case people have not completed previous story/season stuff.
The Veritas were the primo villains in season 1, but were released as playable units and shortly after, they become "allies" in the story. I'm think the same will happen with The Orders. Villains in season 2, playable units near the end of season 2, and then "allies" at the end of season 2 or beginning of the next season.
Asking a potentially stupid question. Was lucky enough to get Tidus #2 from daily pull yesterday. I'd love to build him up and enh him to solo chain, but those enhancements are just sunk costs when I eventually go to 7* him, right? I don't know if I want to drop that many power crysts for a temporary self-chaining partner.

7* is coming before September so 2 months before that happens. I don't know if Tidus will be part of the first batch or not (I believe he was in JP). I did not enhance my 2nd Tidus. I have not really needed to use a 2nd in my part much because I can always bring a decked-out friend Tidus. You will be better off saving the crysts and Gil for 7* IMO.
edit: RIP Fountain of Lapis. This makes me sad... I hope they bring it back soon.

Part of it are the stats but part is just trying to find a consistent rotation. Ideally you'd probably start with Soulful Stance and the 30% DM. Then hit one of the LB fill rate ones and either MP or the LB cryst ones. The hope then is by turn 3, you pop his LB for max buffs and recovery of MP.
Oddly that's when it gets interesting. Turn 4 you'll pop 30% DM again and maybe MP. But turn 5 is kind of up in the air. If you need LB help, either auto attacking or using Iron/Safeguard to try and fill it up, so that by Turn 6, you can pop the LB again. But if you're LB is up already, could be beneficial to try and add something to his kit to help out more.
I'll have to do some testing to see how the LB filling goes.

Nichol's 7* LB also becomes part of his rotation, so it's still important to level it up for later. At 7*, it becomes a 150% buff and you basically rotate between it and his cooldowns to maintain constant 150% buffs.
And I do have a Camille for Tidus to chain with, so there's that. I just started to think about how two Tidus might bring more to the table together and perfect chaining and got a little ahead of myself. Posted here most especially for the reminder that 7 might be just two months away. I still find it tempting, but there's a lot of reasons to skip it atm. Thanks all.

Hah, evade provoke Tidus + Seph LB finisher = dead Kain. So cheesy......
Also inadvertently figured out a way to stop the macro from continuing when a TMR finishes. Just fill your inventory to the brim with crafted garbage (materia or equipment, based on what you're farming). One the TMR finishes, your inventory will be over the limit and the game will prevent you from running ES.
Did a bunch of testing. This is probably a best case Scenario as I was using 3-4 DPS to auto attack with DW to generate LB crysts.
1) Equipped Jake's Pirate Ring (1LB), Prodigy Goggles (2LB), Pure White Blessing (2LB), Ignorance (2LB), Mog Wisdom (50% fill) and Mood Maker (200% fill for first 3 turns). - Not even close to filling LB by turn 3.
2) Swapped P. Goggles for Mythical Skull (50% LB fill rate), removed PWB and Ignorance for DW and Equip Grappling Weapons. Then added Aigaion's Arm and Override. - Closest I got, 25% of the time I was able to fill it, the other 75% it got really close.
3) Removed Mood Maker to see how bad it was with his 150% LB boost. - Didn't ever fill it but got pretty close most of the time.
I did a bunch of other combos (minus MW add PWB), mostly fell into the close but not quite there category.
At this point, I'm not sure how you can get his LB going on a 3 turn rotation other than luck or using 5 party members. If I'm lucky and can get High Tide on both a Bowie Knife and Ulric's Kukri, it will free up those 2 materia slots for PWB and maybe Ignorance. Not sure if that will get you to the point of being able to 3 turn rotation it or not.
Additionally, if chains create more cryst's that could help with this as well. I was unable to use chains as they killed all mob's I was testing against.
With his 7* LB going to 40 Crysts, I don't think it's going to be something you can use in a rotation. He gets a 25% fill boost, but I don't think that's enough to help.

Finally got the king burst pot! I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Finally got the king burst pot! I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
*checks events, sees next one is a raid.
Fuck.
At least more people will be running that raid, so it'll be quicker. And who knows, maybe bots will be back, so it could go even faster still. And the rewards are better and the gacha will have ALL moogles and 4* tickets, so...much better than the current.
Decided to go all in again. 14 tickets in and I FINALLY have CG Nichol.
Looking deeper, seems his LB is something I should pay attention to leveling, which sucks because I already starved myself of LB pots just getting Lid to 20/25. I might end up spending some lapis refresh on the current raid since I just got the King MP Pot this morning.

So, no one has been talking about the new bundles. The Part of the Team bundle (10+1 ticket, 7 rare tickets, and Soccer Jersey 10% evade clothes) for $11.99? The jersey is very tempting, but I am trying not to spend money on bundles unless it is the Fountain.
I also bought that one. a TMR and 18 summons for 12 felt like a very good deal. I have Assassin's Vest so I'm not sure when I'll need the Jersey, but who knows!

Yeah I bought that one as well. One of the first in awhile, but I was messing around with trying to get Ace to be 100% evade. Provoke, imperil, MP regen seemed like a good rotation. But he can only wear clothes and robes. Dracu Lasswell's TMR was the only clothes with evade on it, which I didn't have.
I was thinking about it to make an Ayaka evade build, but she can wear light armor (Assassin's Vest). I don't know who else I would want to use it with that can only wear clothes and not light armor.
The stress with raids is definitely time-limited resources and rewards. So you don't want to waste orbs because you might be neurotic (raises hand) plus you don't want to potentially miss out on something that can only be completed if you get enough mats from not wasting orbs and pay attention to what you can craft/score.
Not only does this make back-to-back raids stressful, but with all these MK events going on simultaneously, I'm getting this stress from both avenues. Especially since I have so many people whose abilities I want to awaken (Fryevia, Agrias, Wilhelm, Knight Delita, Ace, soon-to-be-Zarg! hopefully, etc). Here's hoping the second half of Nichol's story event makes the cryst pressure slightly less so, but I doubt that.
And yes, it is all psychological. This is just a game and pressure/nerves over potential loss in a cyberworld isn't a huge issue. This is a good-nature complaint, not a bitter one. Will be sorry to see the Raid/MK rush end. Relieved, but sorry nonetheless.
Edit: been meaning to ask, what do you guys think is the best KK item to multiple craft? I was kind of thinking the shield and Craigsplitter for the pure HP and Def bonus for expedition units. But that Staff seems decent and a few of those might go a long way. Can't quite decide.

Where did you see the next event is a raid? Next week is the Just Cause collaboration; did they mention it was a raid somewhere? I was hoping it'd be something different, even though most collabs are normally just raids.

I've been playing for so long, I guess I'm numb to it lol. Normally jumping on 3 times a day (morning, lunch, and night) has been enough to get to the top of the raid individual rewards. I've never competed for the ranked rewards, as the additional rewards aren't worth the "I should get up in the middle of the night to spend orbs" feeling.
I've crafted all the KK items. Oddly one of the better raid rewards. Everything has a possible use as they all have elements. Wing Edges's are the same as the Air Knife and have 5% evasion on them and the staff as a respectable 78 MAG. Both the shield and sword are decent as well. I'd do a mix of all.
At this point I have 300 equipment slots and I'm almost always full. So I tend to compare these types of rewards where I can craft a bunch of them vs a single item that is similar.
We meet again raid... back-to-back-to-back raids. Looks like machine killer will be key. I will switch up the gear a bit on my friend unit to boost damage against machine. There is not a lot out there to do that is there? Sword TMR (Killing Machine) and materia TMR (Edgar) and unit passives. What else? You can't get it from an esper.

I wish raid coins were worth enough to just consider selling them like the bahamut raid or whichever one that was. I'd rather do that once I have any of the worthwhile raid tmrs/equip than sit through being a gazillion units over limit again plus using up all the raid coins.
Yeah I think it was the first Bahamut one. They were 50 Gil a pop. Normally I can get over 300,000 coins for a raid, which would net a cool 15 million gil. Unfortunately, at 10 gil a pop, it's not worth it since I can get pretty close, if not more with Snappers and leveling junk units to sell.
Rough estimate (hard to tell since I steal 12K a pop now as well) but I usually get around 2-4 million in snappers. A good compromise would be to put them at 20 or 25 gil a pop. That way you'd be looking at around 6-7.5 million if you sold but you'd lose out on moogles, cactuars, etc.
