I have so many games in my library, that paralyzed by choice of what to start, I just returned to The Banner Saga for my fourth playthrough, to carry a save file through 2 and to 3rd game, considering it comes out tommorow.
Another big (6GB Steam, 18GB elsewhere) patch for Ghost RYcon Wildlands... including these bullet points:
AI TEAMMATE TOGGLE ON/OFF
You can now play all of our PVE Campaigns entirely solo, with no AI Teammates. Simply toggle them off in the game menu for a true, lone wolf experience. Be careful however, as this mode means that each down is counted as a death since there is no one to revive you.
GHOST MODE
Ghost Mode is a new permadeath PVE game mode for those really looking for a challenge. This new, free mode will be accessible through the main menu and can be played in both solo and co-op, and at any difficulty setting. In Ghost Mode you’ll only have one primary weapon to accompany your pistol and you’ll need to really think about when to reload, since the remaining bullets in your clip will be lost. Choose your weapons carefully since they can only be swapped out at ammo boxes. And to up the realism, we’ve also added friendly fire.
The realism and challenge of Ghost Mode will not be without its rewards, however. We will be adding milestones you can reach in this mode that will bring Prestige Credits among other rewards. Stay tuned for more intel on the well-deserved rewards this new challenge will bring.
On July 24th, Year 2 Pass holders will have one week early access to Ghost Mode.
CHARACTER / AI CUSTOMISATION
You will now be able to change the face and gender of your character and AI Teammates at any time.
I mean, it's technically incorrect, but it's been used colloquially for so long by so many people as a synonym for magazine that I'd probably concede it as another small evolution of the English language. Just like sniper rifle instead of sniper's rifle.

Wooo!
I'm gonna have a whole team of badass ladies wrecking shit in Bolivia soon!

It's a brilliant game, what can I say.
Oh shit it's out tomorrow? I was hoping to have another playthrough of TBS2 done before it was released, but hmm. I still recall all the story beats so I may be good as is
Steamworld Heist has temporarily been cast aside. Battlemech has its grips on me. Soo good! Just lost my first mechwarrior It was a tough mission. RIP Medusa.

Battletech is kinda like Steamworld Heist. Both contain robots, you shoot other robots with a variety of weapons, you shoot off parts of things you want to keep later...

A big difference is that I understood how Heist worked, though. I did the tutorial of Battletech and I understand absolutely nothing about how attacks and damage works in this game, to the point it kinda hampers my enjoyment because it's hard to make plans when I can't predict what anything will do. I just kinda point at people and hope.

Man, Heist was so good. More games would benefit from adopting a Peggle style aiming system

This post was a roller coaster of emotion for me. Always going to be sad when Steamworld Heist is put aside, but... for BATTLETECH!!! BATTLETECH is so, so good, y'all. I can't stop playing it.

The tutorial is pretty pants. And there is a learning curve. Which bits do you want some help with? Mech loadouts? Weapon types? Weapon to-hit chances? How damage is applied? Leveling up pilots? Salvage? Movement and facing? Heat? Finances and mission selection? (Yeah, I guess there's a lot going on...)
Basic tip for starting the campaign is - as soon as you get the ability to do so, add a bunch of front armor to your mechs, even at the cost of a weapon or two. None of the stock models carry enough given that you are often facing worse than 1 v. 1 odds in campaign missions.
Also Bulwark is the best pilot ability by a significant margin. I usually aim to have a main team of pilots that all have Bulwark, one with sensor lock and the other three with multi-target. Evasive move is actually super useful in the early game, but drops off in mid and is nearly useless in late game missions.
I often forget to level up the fighting skill tree of my characters in state of decay
This means I can have a scenario like this morning where Bob struggled to clear out several infestations, Steve did so with the Highlander theme song
One Wierd Trick is to clear out buildings within outpost zones. They usually don't have so many to deal with since hoards can't get in and the searching helps with wits.
Also, for anybody who is unaware, the supplies you get from an outpost are based on the first icon in the 'list'. If, for example you have icons for food and fuel, food will be the resource produced. You can make it fuel by taking all the food out first.
You can remove the supplied resource once the outpost is set up and continue to receive it until it runs out.
And, as a no brainer, choose outpost locations on chokepoints to prevent hoards getting access to your base and some bases have a building nearby that is somewhat out of the way that gets infested so definitely place an outpost there just to keep infestations you don't need from forming.
@cB557 you need to pick up some SteamGifts winnings from a ways back!
Also new giveaways!
- A really fun game with a neat control scheme. Not really a typing tutor, but definitely gets you used to being quicker on your fingertips.
- A classic RTS to a fault. Like literally a fault. It was pretty fun, but also definitely just... the innovative and interesting parts are like one quarter step away from Command & Conquer. Still, fun for a decent amount of time, and definitely quite pretty. Plus I like that the humans are weird in it.
- Never played it! Seems like an action RPG sort of thing about killing zombies.
- A classic adventure game about the evils of capitalism!
Gotta give some belated thanks to @JaysonFour for gifting me Thomas Was Alone after my request last week. I've only had one play session (and I stopped for sleep), but man I'm enjoying it more than I expected. The narrator helps add personality to the shapes, and I'm really loving the snarkiness that gets thrown in every once in a while. Why is Chris always so grumpy?

I can only think of a handful characters I've cared for more than those parallelograms.
Not an officially licensed game, not steam related, though they might put it on the workshop. Linking here since this is a well traveled/many games linked thread.
You all think fallout 76 is lackluster? A bunch of modders got you covered.
This hit two days ago and got 2.2million views so far. Im thinking this mod will blow the actual next game out of the water in terms of concurrent users.

As much as I adore mods and modding, I'm going to say: not likely.
From what I understand, the number of gamers who actually use mods at all is a pretty small percentage of the total playerbase. And the number that will install a huge total conversion mod or equivalent? Even fewer.

If the RV's rockin', don't bother knockin'.
You move to a new map, where it breaks down and you do it all over again... but harder. Basically NG+
