Betting we see at least one trilogy of vengeance title today with a release date
What's trilogy of vengeance? Is this a Square thing? Is it Kingdom Hearts
CyberConnect2 announced three new original ips in February
I thought Cyberconnect2 were so bad at making games that Square had to take them away for their own good and show them how it's done though, they couldn't even make an OLD game again, how could they possibly make a new one
(for real though if I were Cyberconnect I would be eyeing other publishers to work with other than them after FF7)

When people say 76 is missing the point of Fallout, I’m not sure exactly what games they were playing considering the last few
They’ve never struck me as particularly thoughtful, responsible, weighty or serious
As was pointed out, Fallout 3 gave you a portable nuke launcher
EDIT: Also Bethesda has had control of Fallout for a longer time and published more games than whoever the previous dev was, I think they’re pretty firmly in control of what “the message” of that series actually is
A lot of it has to do with a) I was a teenager when Fallout 3 came out and b) the Fat Man was basically an easter egg that I never even encountered in my playthroughs, and this is one of the major selling points of 76 that they're producing entire video segments to highlight
and just because you've been doing something longer than the original people does not mean you know it better, see: the last 15 years of the same guy running The Simpsons
People have been talking a lot about how the Bethesda fallouts have slowly been making fallouts that lose sight of the original point of fallout
Where initially the 50s aesthetic and rah rah America stuff was supposed to stand in contrast to the barren nuclear wastelands, which were just sort of a constant reminder about the failures of that culture and ideology
And it's slowly become more and more about how, gosh that culture was *great* and isn't it just a shame that the bombs fell and ruined it? Ah well we're all having a goofy fun time here in the wasteland, shooting people and listening to old timey music
I can't believe Bethesda ended their conference by announcing a game that probably won't be out for at least 2 years and then announcing another game that probably won't be out for 5 years

so .... like every presenter at E3?
alternately
could be worse .... Square begins every conference by announcing a game that won't be out for 10 years and ends it by announcing a game that won't be out ever

Am I making this up or did they basically confirm Starfield is for the next console generation? I have this memory but I don't know if it's real

They said "next generation" but nothing on what they meant by that

I don't think it's glorified that culture, there's plenty of "look how dumb and shortsighted this shit is" surrounding pre-war relics, especially around atomic energy
I do think it's gotten far away from the anti-war aspect, aside from the very basic "look at how shitty everything got cuz of the WAR"
Now that I think of it, that may be why Bethesda is so hesitant to spruce up the wasteland, even two hundred years after the bombs fell -- because if you clean it up and rebuild society and it looks like nothing ever happened, then it loses its impact and becomes "well nuclear war is bad, but we can get over it, so what's the big deal?"
Obviously there's a million ways to write around that problem but that's the first reasonable thought I've ever had as to why Bethesda still won't clean up the skeletons or patch the holes in people's clothes, so hey

All the conferences are building in a crescendo based on how much I care about them, it’s worked out really nicely this year

all right I'm in
That was weird.
There's absolutely not a single iota of a chance there isn't some kind of Final Pam easter egg in Fallout 76.
Well good news! Nintendo is tomorrow.

Speaking of Darksiders, I hope we get some information about 3
That may be what unsells me on it for real
They're self-publishing!
Honestly I think it was in 4 as well, that definitely wasn’t my issue with that game
It is, but still not solid enough where it should be the ONLY thing
All I'm seeing in this trailer is mobile enemies where I wish I could just VATS them
I am not even a little down for framing nuclear weapons as this fun revenge tool (or even "just cuz!"), fuck this game

What... did the definitive edition do
Fixed a Bunch of gameplay balance things, added 60fps mode, and had Vergil’s DLC and Bloody Palace.
It’s real good.

FO76 looks completely uninteresting to me and certainly will lose what I enjoy about the FO games.
