If porn drew the massive take-up of the internet, then porn will surely drive the up and 'coming' mass adoption of VR devices.

    I don't think it'll be that easy.

I've tried a few VR movies, both conventional and, uh, adult. And I find them super uncomfortable. No matter how much fiddling with the settings I do, there's always some point to focus on that makes my eyes hurt.

So I just play games in VR.

If they make adult stuff rendered on the fly, that might be better? But that's also way more expensive and complex. I'm sure there's somebody working on it, though.

There's a bunch of apps that do exactly that already, and an adult vr games reddit dedicated to it.

Anyone hear of Evasion? (PSVR, Rift and Vive) Sounds pretty cool:

Sounds super cool when using an Aim controller.

The ad below if for Playstation (but like I said it's also on Rift and Vive).

I started Borderlands 2 a few years ago, but only got around to finishing it this year. I was very positive on BL1, but I weirdly wasn't as into 2. Maybe it was my build or something, but it felt like more of a slog, even though the game was mechanically better in most ways.

That said, this is exactly the kind of long-form campaign-oriented VR content I've been looking for, so I'm keeping an open mind!

It sounds like a cool idea in a team setting, but I was 3/4 through the game before I even got a slag weapon that worked for my build. Even playing in co-op, it became more of a logistical challenge than a cool team technique.

    - Rush of Blood: This is the game I make everybody play the first time they try VR at my house. I have them play the first tutorial level. I feel this is the perfect game to experience VR because 1) You sit down to play this for full effect -- so there's no danger of someone falling over, 2) You use the Move controllers and they are super accurate in Rush of Blood, 3) It's got some roller coaster drops and it's amazing how real it feels, and 4) It's kinda scary and evokes emotion. It's the perfect first game.
    - Wipeout: Remember to turn off all the comfort settings!

Rush of Blood is still one of my favourite VR games even after largely swapping over to a PC and Rift. I need to get the PSVR plugged in for another play-through. Astrobot is on the Xmas list too, can't wait for that.

I really want to play Astrobot but my free time is literally negative right now (ie. I have more RL things that are needed to be done than time to do them) and I don't forsee that changing until after the new year, when I'm going to be in a new region where prices are much higher.

Similar situation, except that I won't be moving to a new, more expensive region after the new year, but also except that I don't foresee having less stuff to do than time to do it once the new year arrives either. I try to make 1-2 hours a month to fire up the PS4 just so it doesn't give in to despair and suffer a critical failure.

Here's a question about the stores. I know steam has sales quite a few times a year, does the oculus ever have similar sales or price match during the sales? There's some games I'm looking at for VR, but some, like Alien Isolation, I know go on sale. I didn't order it in time with the humble store and wasn't sure about using the steam interface yet.

Oculus doesn't do price matching (I don't think anyone does), but they do have sales with comparable prices, although not necessarily at the same time. I've found that you can usually get lower prices on Steam, as you'd expect with dozens of vendors selling keys, but the difference is only a few bucks at most.

It looks like isthereanydeal.com has started listing Oculus store prices, so you'll be able to get tracking on historical sale prices, but I think they have less than a month of data.

Alien Isolation doesn't have an official VR mode, I think VR is through mods, so I don't think you'll ever get that on the Oculus store.

Ya I know alien Isolation is all mods, hoping it's in the steam summer sale as I missed it in the humble.

Skyrim VR is one I'm looking at to hopefully go on sale, along with natural loco motion or whatever it's called. They're probably both worth it for full price. I see some shady looking cd key selling site has skyrim vr for $30, but pretty sure I'll look for something official or maybe the oculus store. I haven't used steam in VR yet, but booting up the oculus app for everything.

The Oculus Store does indeed have sales, and at times the prices there are actually better than what you can get at Steam. It's a crapshoot whether or not you'll catch a particular title at its lowest price, but it happens regularly. For example, I got the Elite Dangerous Commander Deluxe edition on the Oculus Store on a random sale for like $18 or some insane price like that several months back. You just have to watch for sales. I know they have at least two "big" sales a year, once around the holidays, and once around the Oculus anniversary. There may be another one in the summer or fall, but I can't remember if those are regular things or not.

I just picked up Vox Machinae, and it's pretty good. The grab the radio thing for voice chat is nice.
Also, their mech design really makes me want a single player mode that is more "Euro Mech Simulator" than combat focused.

I'd love to play a survival-esque giant mech game in VR, where you have to collect scrap and get out of the mech to weld it for repairs after (or during!) a fight. Imagine sneaking off from an intense battlefield, finding a hollowed out building to hide in, and rappelling down with your tools to fix up some blasted-off armor. Super tense the whole time, hoping nobody saw you slip away.

Let me know about creed, I've thought about getting it as sort of a workout. I've enjoyed boxing games in the past, even wii boxing. Resident evil is one I'm waiting for a sale on since for pc it's not officially VR supported.

So, I played Creed last night. It was my least favorite of the VR games I've played thus far (also played Resident Evil and Superhot). The actual boxing of it is ok, a couple notches above, like, Wii Boxing, but the tracking could be better. The campaign is very very bare bones, I got through the whole thing in like an hour last night, and it feels like it really just ends before the climax. Maybe if you want to do a lot of PvP or something it's worth it, but I found the experience pretty dissappointing.

That being said, I was pretty sweaty when I was done playing. So if you want to get into it, it does give you a bit of cardio.

Skyrim VR is another one that might never show up on the Oculus Store, since Bethesda is in a lawsuit with Oculus and they're kind of petty that way. Isthereanydeal shows it at about $36 at Greenmangaming, and $33 at a few less well-known sellers.

I was under the impression it was teleport only (that you had to use the Move controllers) and was pretty bummed but I just read that it also supports the DS4 controller for smooth movement -- this fills me with joy! Hoping that they patch it to be Aim controller-compatible.

EDIT: Looks like you can also do smooth movement with the Move controllers -- I'm guessing it probably works similar to Elder Scrolls. I'm still hoping for AIM support, though.

They have VR bundles all the time, as evidenced by the number on this one. 90% of the time they are filled with crap, but once in a while there is a gem or two in a bundle making it worth buying. Just keep an eye out whenever you notice one of their VR bundles and check the reviews on any of the games that look half way interesting. I've purchased 2 or 3 of their VR bundles just by making sure there is at least 1-2 half-way decent games in them.

Ok, sorry for posting again but Im lost in steam vr. I loaded it up to test out locomotion, and it seems really cool! Somehow I switched back to oculus home, yet I still have the 3d steam tool bar keyboard thing in front of ne. And natural locomotion isn't running, but tabLe top sum seams to.

I'm just totally confused by the store switching, how to switch "homes" and how to use it all correctly. Is there a good tutorial ?

Simplest way to explain is that as far as Oculus Home is concerned, SteamVR and the accompanying home environment is just another VR program, so the Dash UI and Oculus menu are both still available inside SteamVR.
