Long ago in Curt Gowdy Forest I saw a beaver about 1/2 the size of a small car
I also saw a badger the length of two lane no shoulder street as it's tail was leaving the yellow line as it's nose touched the grass on the other side

critters get big out that way.
Well down by the mall there was a bunch of badgers in that ditch near the houses to the east? They were small dog sized and that is why I know why dachshunds are basically badgers as a dog.
Full of teeth and growls they would come up to the trash outside of Country Buffet {aka Country Bucket} so it was uncommon to go out those doors and walk up on one.
That is why I remember that long one compared to the tiny ones around town.

A story:
I went to Dubuque, Iowa, partly because the National Mississippi Museum and Aquarium is there. It's a museum about the Mississippi River and its riverboats and that sort of thing, and also an aquarium with Mississippi River fish to teach about conservation and that sort of thing. Nice place in general, but in particular, they have a tank where sturgeon can be petted. There are sturgeon swimming around, and after you wash your hands, you can stick your hands in the tank and touch them, which I did, because I didn't realize that this was a thing that could be done, but once I found out that I could, I had to do it.
This is not my video, just one taken by someone at the same place as proof that these big fish are gentle and can be petted. It's a funny feeling too, because sturgeon are so ancient that their line is pre-scales. They have hard bony plates on their backs so they are smooth and not stereotypically fish textured at all.

Most dogs are products of their environments and owners.
Some will have breed traits.
Most breeds are good and don't have aggressive tendencies outside of shar pei line of dogs (chow chow, shiba inu, akita). Unfortunately they are very close to the wolf ancestor (blue black tongue) that most dogs came from, but most dogs have another 3-4 lineages between them and that line instead of 1. That line in particular has temperament issues and need early and frequent socialization or else they are very grump outside of their immediately family/bond. There's a reason they're used as attack dogs and dogs of war too.
I won't even approach those dogs at all.
not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me

? Huskies and related breeds are most similar to wolves, not those breeds. The Akita and Shiba especially are a very old breed.
Shibas are basically dog/cats in temperament. They can be standoffish with non family but people agressive is not common.
Akitas I'd basically handle the same as a cranky shepard.
Incidentally that's something people don't make enough of a distinction on I think. Some dogs have a high prey drive toward small animals. So a human adult is fine, but they need to be well trained on order to not chase small running things like little dogs, cats, small kids. Its different from territory or food agression.
But any dog mistreated or badly trained can be a problem.

And wolves don't have black tounges.
Nah Huskies are much closer to dog than wolf. The tongue thing is the trait of that wolf line that dogs came from, they're not modern wolves, though they are very close and considered canis lupus.
my dog is dog-racist against bully breeds, even though most of the pitties/boxers he comes across are super chill. They can be meek as heck but if they make eye contact within a couple meters he'll instantly bare his teeth, face to face greetings are a total no go

Snarf was like that. Bully breeds and unneutered males were to be chomped on. Every other dog? Fine. People, even when they provoked him? Fine.
He accidentally bit me once and I wish I had a picture of that because his "oh shit" face was adorable.

One of my old roommates had a pibble named Cheeba who was basically a big, loving marshmallow of a dog. But every once in a while she would, like, get over excited playing tug of war and drag me around the living room by my shoe and I'd remember that she could probably crush my skull if she wanted to.
Then she would roll over and whine until you rubbed her belly and all was forgotten.
Lando loves car rides, so I bring him with me on drives, or if I'm ever just going out to get food or something, where I can stay in the car the whole time. Whenever we stop for food, he always gets a free treat from whoever is working the drive-thru.
If it's Wendy's, he gets a small vanilla frosty. If it's mcdonalds, he gets some nuggets. Starbucks he gets the whipped cream cup.

i had assumed that bats wouldn't be effective swimmers but that baby looks like they're having an easy enough time of it! that's what the movement cycle for gigantic flying enemies should look like in a video game.

Dog park today! Kona tends to love the people more than the other dogs. She plays with them but she would much rather lean on a stranger and cover them in drool.

I think Kona fell in love today.
There was this smaller dog named Kevin there. She followed him around the whole time he was there. He nipped at her face then laid down so she laid right next to him. He nipped at her face and moved again so she followed again and laid down next him.
Anybody in the Portland area want a cat? I have a friend who has been fostering one, but her old-timer doesn't like other cats, so it's been stressful for all involved. The cat up for adoption is apparently very affectionate and loving ("enjoys windows and resting a paw on you").

The walk is now complete. We will start a new life here, by the bench.

Which it turns out is basically just water-flying:
