Oliver Queen just came back from the dead after a year. He's frantically searching through his old quiver to find anything that can beat the villain he's facing.
Apparently Lochaber mountain rescue refused a call from a guy who walked up Ben Nevis then called the emergency services because it had rained and he was wet
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed that they had received a call from a solo walker at 9.33pm on Wednesday.
"He said he was soaked through and was at the summit. The mountain rescue team were informed but did not attend. He spent the night in the summit shelter and walked himself off the following morning."

Pretty common problem, apparently. "Yeah, we hiked all the way up here and now we're tired, can you send a helicopter?"

Here it's usually people ridiculously ill equipped
Folk in shorts and trainers, and the like
I walked the Cateran trail recently as part of an event, which doesn't even go that high, and they sent out a kit list, with a warning that it would be inspected and enforced, reiterated the mandatory kit list at the briefing the day before, and still ended up turning people away at the start
I remember being told that more people die on Nevis every year than on Everest, but I can't find good figures to check if that's true
Interestingly, though, it seems that the largest proportion of deaths aren't people climbing or ice climbing (which is what i would have thought) but literally just slipping and falling off while hiking up
Reports out of Taiwan now suggest that Nvidia has a gaming GPU inventory problem.
'Semiaccurate' reported on the issue yesterday, and cited excess inventory in the channel as the primary reason for new gaming GPU delay.
The glut is so severe that one top Asian OEM partner reportedly returned 300k GPUs to Nvidia.

i ended up timing my last build just before the GPU madness really kicked off
i hate to say it but this might be the last PC i build?
my enthusiasm for for gaming in general is seriously waning and i can see myself in the future just picking up a console for the odd thing if anything at all

ONLY
and ONLY IF
Nvidia says ok lets start to drop prices.
They cancelled some thing about the 1100 series reveal for this month (think it was this month) but some store or someone had an august listing for a 1180
Im only lookin at this stuff cause ladyroar asked me to price out my computer upgrade I want
but now Im at a crossroads that I have to decide on when I actually can afford it cause anytime before is a waste.
If I bought today I feel like AMD would be the go to cause they are planning on supporting AM4 till 2020 and then could squeeze an upgrade out at that point for Cyberpunk. But if I wait I guess I have to see where Intel goes cause they keep changing sockets I like change Thunderlords diapers.
Im not upgrading my 970 till Cyberpunk I think anyways cause I can still do better then console settings on PC, Im mostly CPU limited currently.

But there's so many other nerd things you can do with a decent PC. Render cats, encode porn, hash anime

I go in phases
I get burned out and then do tv shows for awhile, then tabletop for awhile and then come back to it
in theory I should just do distracting entertainment in moderation and that would avoid that issue all together but lawl
Like I may skip a PC videocard upgrade in favor of the next console gen
I feel my new monitor with G-Sync was just as big of a performance upgrade as a new video card would have been.
How so?
Syncs the display framerate to the actual game's framerate, instead of trying to do it the other way around. Can't really explain the difference, has to be seen. But suddenly it felt like my framerate doubled.

Yeah my 1080p monitor is now.... 8 years old? 9? And I was in a tech store recently, and the new screens look so much nicer that that alone may be an upgrade I may need to consider. The panel before that just died after 6 years or so, but this one keeps trucking.
The downside of getting the *sync is that you basically buy into Red or Green for as long as you own the monitor.
And I feel like the current gen of cards doesn't really do 4K well except 1080ti + , and even then, not always. So it makes me wonder if I should buy 4k HDR *sync and sorta pray that tech catches up.
I have made the decision to buy a PS4Pro for 2018 and deal with all this stufff in 2019 though. The Yakuza's were part of this though, and that has recently been announced to come to PC.

Ack! I’ve been having lots of earthquake anxiety lately since I live in a place that’s overdue for a 9.0

There's a few cringy moments by modern standards but for a show this old it's amazing how few and far between they are
I will not write my paper today.

I bought it because it was decent price to power ratio with the expectation I'd be upgrading to an nvidia card before too long
I've had money set aside for a 1080 once they dropped in price for almost two years now except lol crypto

Not necessarily a good deal.
Yea , Im really curious to see how Nvidia shareholders are going to deal with this if what I posted is true.
Cause at some point shareholders are going to say what the fuck why are you sitting on inventory, fire sale them and put out the 1100 series.

I believe that was Ninja Theory with DmC and "The feel of 60 fps" cause DmC on consoles was half the framerate of every other Devil May Cry game.
