I always like to remind people that, amongst all of his other sins, M. Night Shyamalan also wrote both Stuart Little and She's All That.

Because the universe is a weird place.

    That's not true! That's impossible!

Signs is bad because it tricked me into watching The Village, and The Village was bad enough to make me think maybe something terrible happened during the production so then I watched Lady in the Water and that movie should be enough to land a person in a comfortable prison

Of the Shyamalan movies I have seen:
I like the idea of The Village just I feel it could have been done better
Unbreakable is well interesting it needed something I don't know what
I saw Sixth Sense after the ending was a meme and pretty much spoiled so it kind of ruined the movie for me
The Happening was a subject of ridicule while watching it so it was hard to enjoy or watch
Signs I only saw the last part of it so I don't know

lady in the water is worth watching because you get to see Paul Giamatti try his absolute goddamndest to polish a turd and it's honestly inspiring

I mean, I liked Lady in the Water, but sure, that seems fair enough.

Lady in the Water rocks. It's super nonsensical and silly, but it's equally as earnest and visually beautiful. I was moved by it, even if I wasn't all in on the plot.

The one pro I have for LitW was at least it was also the last M Night film I ever saw in theaters. Between that and The Village I gave up on him

Lady in the Water is compelling evidence for the lack of a judgemental omnipotent deity because surely otherwise a person would be smote dead for writing themselves into a screenplay as a brilliant writer

The article says: "Sources said Carrey is negotiating to star in the Paramount film in the role of Robotnik, a villain in the live action/CGI adaptation of the hit Sega video game."

so I'm imagining some kind of Roger Rabbit thing, with Carrey as live and Sonic as CGI

I have not seen Lady in the Water, so my only experience there is that when it came out my little brother was like 8 or 9

    and for some reason, if there even was one, he seemed to get a big kick out of occasionally whispering K i t t y i n t h e W a t e r

Why does the South Asian dude always have to be the “tech guy”? Why can’t he be a regular agent?

Because Kumail Nanjiani, specifically, has played similar roles wonderfully in the past and would be very fun to watch as a Q type outfitter?

Just finishing up apocalypse now, been a while since I saw the redux but I think the original is better. Concentrates the film, more focused.

The only part I didn’t like about The Village was Adrian Brody

But the premise was interesting. I’m going to spoil this even though others are openly talking about it
An entire town made up of people so profoundly damaged by loss that they convince themselves the problem is modernity rather than human nature, so they intentionally hobble themselves and do incalculable harm to their children in the process.

Think of how wealthy and influential they had to be in order to alter flight paths to avoid a few hundred square miles of wilderness
