At the very least he doesn't try to say he didn't plagiarize.
As usual the internet is being absolute horrible about this whole thing though. Yes, dude plagiarized. Yes, dude got caught. Yes, dude should be getting fired (if he isn't already) from IGN. But that's pretty much all should be occurring between him, IGN and perhaps some input from Boomstick Gaming.
No one should be harassing him. Sure as fuck no one should be harassing his family.
"I look at all resources I have available to me before I start formulating my own critical opinions so that I can opt for the most cohesive possible review"
That feels like the opposite process virtually every other games journalist takes, where they specifically avoid other opinions or reviews as to not influence their own take. Even taken at face value and given the benefit of the doubt, rather than viewing it as weasel-word-salad to justify plagiarism, it seems like his ideas around critical response are incompatible with the core concept of individual reviews.
This week's beastcast might be the first time I've seen Dan get legit angry at something "real world" re: the former IGN worker who plagiarized a review.

Yeah, he was heated about that. Not surprising, really, considering he wrote hundreds upon hundreds of reviews just to get his foot in the door at Game Informer.

Dan's story about his family's market on this week's Beastcast is real good but is also a retail nightmare.

The one time Dan had to actually work hard at something before having his efforts pay off.
