I don't think there is any game aside from maybe fortnite that you can play on pc or console and share between. Maybe rocket league?
I'm aware it's uncommon.
Epic Games has also said that they'd be sharing their tech for doing so openly and freely.
Obviously this doesn't mean I expect every last title to do it, right down to single person indy devs, or that it's necessary everywhere.
But it's a nice to have, and if it becomes more common in the years to come, I'm all for it.
Oh I'd love for it to be a thing. One thing I liked about ME 3's multi was while it didn't share guns or unlocks between versions, it did share your % of the galaxy saved or whatever. So I could do multi on my pc and then benefit from that for my solo playing on my xbox.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Is Anthem going to be like The Division where once you leave the hub area, you're by yourself in the world unless you've grouped up with friends? Or is it going to be like Destiny where you're sharing the map with other folks at all times?
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I believe its division style.

If you go into freeplay mode, you can leave it open to be matched with up to 3 other players while you roam around. Or you can choose to be by yourself. Or you can invite friends. This applies to everything in the game including missions.
If we are just speaking about free-roaming around the world, I've seen videos where people are in free-roam and players join in for a few events, then leave only to be replaced by new players in the session. I think its a nice balance between Division and Destiny style open world stuff.

The former, although matchmaking exists even if you're solo.

RL announced in the last week that all platforms can play together (Sony being the hold out), however, their cross-platform party system is coming in a patch early this year.

man I've tried Warframe several times but it doesn't click. And Destiny just doesn't have enough loot variety for me. This looks fun tho.
I think other than having like different suits as classes there is very little warframe in Anthem to my eyes.
Watching the melee infiltrator ninja jump off walls to continue combos was very Warframe-esque. Mind you I don't think you're going to have a "movement combo" like you do in Warframe, and not every Javelin is going to be Yoda Jedi Ninja, but I think there is some of that fast paced, high movement, combat there if that's your thing.

Hmmm, that more recent video, is that the first time we've seen video showcasing the utility abilities?
We got to see the Colossus Taunt, the Storm Ability Recharge Bubble (which I didn't even know Storm had), the Ranger Projectiles Blocking Bubble (which was cool), and the Interceptor Decoy.

They've gone through a bunch of the "support" abilities. You can find a bunch of revealed abilities here:
Ranger:
Muster Point – The ability to spawn a rally point and restore abilities cooldowns for the whole team on the battlefield, who are in range.
Bulwark Point: Deploys a spherical field which deflects incoming enemy projectiles.
Colossus:
Taunt: Forces all enemies within a certain radius to divert their attacks to the Colossus.
Deflector Pulse: Gives all nearby allies a damage-resistance buff.
Storm:
Wind Wall: Generates a defensive wall of wind that deflects incoming enemy projectiles.
Nexus: Creates a field which provides gear cooldown reduction to teammates who enter its radius.
Interceptor:
Target Beacon: Marks a target for increased damage which will switch to another enemy if the marked target is destroyed.
Rally Cry: Removes status effects from all nearby allies.
Check out the above link for a list of all the other abilities revealed so far
Ah neat, there's been so many videos I must have missed those.
Apparently each of those abilities listed in the article can be modified by gear to act very differently.
And this is what I want! I want you to have a base ability and now "I got some gear now it does *blank*" One thing that was cool about how the division did powers with set gears was like it would change how you played that power.
Like the defense set let you carry a sub machine gun with your tac shield which was a game changer. I hope for the same here. They even made it seem like your ultimate might get affected?

Well I have to play the ranger anyway until I unlock the big boy.
In case you're working off old info, you don't.
In that, yes, you start off with an 'old' Javelin, which I believe is analogous to the Ranger, or something close to it, but at level 2 (say, around the time the Tutorial ends) you pick a new Javelin, which isn't restricted.
Meaning, you can all but start with the Colossus, or Storm, or Ranger, or Interceptor.
The second is chosen at level 8, and while that will vary depending on how much time one plays, and at what difficulty level, in group or not, etc, that shouldn't be too long before options start opening up.
The others open up at levels 16 and 24, which again doesn't mean much (is that a weekend of marathon'ing the game? A week of casual play? Two months? Who knows), but the real point is that you can start with 'the big boy' if you wish, and the others will show up in time (and even if you, Preacher, already knew this, I have to assume someone reading the thread might not).
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
Oh I did not know that. So our first Javelin is not the ranger, its some like hodge podge iron man mark 1 suit and then we get our mark 2 we can choose? Aces.

I don't know if Ultimates are modifiable. I would hope they are. Thats a huge design space they'd be leaving on the table if they aren't!

I'm intrigued about the Interceptor aoe status cure. I appreciate support abilities on frames I wouldn't expect to have them.

Think it was mentioned that you have from level 10-15 a stronghold and presumably a certain number of story and side missions as well as freeplay
Edit- and access to the four javelins.
