Well and that they are doing an open non paid beta. Like us VIP people get to play it first, but it goes open after that and that's sweet as hell.

I believe I read that all of the ultimates trigger invulnerability. It started with the Interceptor, as a manner of survival and because they innately have to be in the thick of things while using melee attacks, but realized that being knocked out while activating ultimate abilities would be pretty shitty on any of them.

I never played it, but comparisons were made to Destiny, where apparently that's a thing?

Hopefully it goes through, if I'm in the middle of lighting up a crowd with an "Iron Man at the end of The Avengers" style spread of missiles, getting downed while doing it would not endear me to using the ability. Especially since some of them seem to kind of lock you in place. Losing maneuverability often means death in engagements where it's serious enough to warrant bringing out the heavier firepower anyways.

I don't remember which video it was, maybe the IGN one from yesterday, but I recently saw someone comment that an Interceptor got frozen during their Ult

Didn't notice it myself, and maybe it was a glitch, but it might be that you can still be affected by some effects during your Ult, even if you take no damage

Also good that they aren't calling it a beta. They are calling it what it is: A demo. Are they getting load and scaling data from it? Of course, but they know, that we know, it's basically a demo, and they are calling it that.

I'm sure this has already been pointed out/posted...but just in case: https://wccftech.com/anthem-vip-demo-time-three-friend-codes/

Looks like those of us getting in on the 25th will get friend codes for early demo access as well. They definitely want people to play this game.

Depends on how old your PC is. It's a very weird time to do PC upgrading right now, unless you're so behind the curve that reasonably priced current parts are a huge upgrade. If something like a Ryzen 2600X + an RTX 2060 would be a massive upgrade for you, than it's probably worth it to upgrade now and go PC. If you're looking higher end than that, it's not a great time unless you're willing to spend.

I'll definitely have to get those friend codes sorted out. Between a buddy and I, we should be able to hook up all 6 friends we're hoping will be interested in the game. Two weekends of potential game time is better than 1.

Destiny does not give you immunity during supers. Like in PVP that's specifically a thing to do to someone supering is to kill them or hit them with something that takes away their super.

But yeah if every javelin's super makes you immune fucking awesome, if I'm bringing the thunder I don't want to get toe tagged and f it up.

Yeah, Destiny gives you a bunch of damage resistance but you are still very killable. I imagine the lack of PvP means you can throw damage immunity effects around more liberally. I'm not sure if any of the ultimates in Anthem are roaming-super style either, which is where it can really get out of hand too.

If you went with something like a Ryzen 5 CPU on a budget motherboard (provided you don't need or want a bunch of OC'ing tools), with 16 GB of RAM (you'll likely need new RAM as everything is DDR4 now), and something like an RTX 2060/Vega 56 and you'd be set for a while at 1080p and 1440p. I'm not going to say it's "cheap", you're still looking at an outlay of several hundred bucks, but it would put you in a good spot for PC games for at least a couple of years. It would certainly handle Anthem at 60 FPS with no issues.

The question you have to ask is if you want to play Anthem at 60+ FPS or not :D The consoles are going to look just fine, but be locked at 30 FPS. If that doesn't bother you, or you couldn't care less, than opening the wallet for a PC upgrade is probably a debatable decision.

Honestly they’re all “roaming” to an extent.

Ranger gets a few seconds (maybe 5?) to lock onto targets for its missile swarm.

Colossus and Storm have a timer that counts down, or they can hit 3 strikes, whichever comes first.

Interceptor seems to be purely on a timer, and you turn into a blender of melee death until it runs out.

The flying needs work or practice on a mouse, it's designed for a controller. Unless you're a natural or they changed it up.

Today's devstream went into that specifically, noting that they'd been tweaking it a bit, and along with some user preference adjustments, it felt a lot better in the build they were playing at the time.

I have a slightly older processor and same GPU. We should be fine at 1080 on High (maybe some Mediums), if you're looking for solid-60. If you don't mind 30, you should be fine at High, maybe even 1440p.

I probably will once they stop patching Win7 and it becomes irresponsible to stay on it from a security perspective, but Win7 is such a vastly more stable OS than Win10 I want to stretch it out in NoCrashVille as long as I can before I head back to BluescreenLand.

I also lingered for awhile on 7 before skipping 8 and going directly to 8.1 and I can't remember whether I'm on 8.1 or 10 but I'm reasonably sure it auto-upgraded me to 10 at some point and I didn't mind. In either case it's leaps and bounds better than it was back when it first launched; but more to your point, win7 end of life is jan2020 so you've got the rest of this year to cruise before they stop issuing updates

@vamen - are you asking for the demo, or for full game access? Pre-ordering gets you into the VIP demo next weekend, but the EA Origin whatever-the-hell it’s called subscription thing gets early access to the full game in February.
