Day9 once said that aggro decks don't make a lot of sense to him, and I empathize with that.
Control, combo, I get. You're holding out for your big turn(s) and keeping the other player in check. There are particular moments that I'm building towards--the plan is clear and straightforward, even if it's difficult to execute correctly.
Aggro and tempo decks often leave me flummoxed. I get what I'm supposed to be doing, but I'm not necessarily sure how and when to trade. How much can I ignore what my opponent is doing so I can kill them before I'm forced to respond? How do I take advantage of non-obvious synergies in a decklist? I think aggro/tempo are much harder than people give them credit.
I'm trying to correct this by playing some of the more aggressive decks. Tempo mage is my go-to right now, because I just love Luna (what a great card), but I've only been modestly successful with it. I'm not always sure what to do when I end up with a hand full of spells and none of my early minions.
I'm also playing token druid, but I think of that more as a combo deck than a tempo deck because you can create such explosive turns that are hard to counter.
I'm looking for some other decks to play. I suppose I should try odd rogue and heal zoo. Any other tempo/aggro decks I should look at in this metagame? It seems like those decks are not in great shape (except for the two big ones, but maybe that's all you need?).
So I went ahead and grabbed one of the zoo lists on hearthstonetopdecks and have it a whirl.
I don’t do much laddering these days but I just hopped on and proceeded to win 5-6 games in a row dunking on wildly greedy control decks.
I don’t think I learned much punishing bad decks in the low ranks but it did remind me how powerful it is curving out a bunch of over statted minions and then just giving them even more stats and just drawing cards forever too.
Yep, stole at least a couple of games with that mossy horror tech in my shaman deck. Sure it usually blows up half my board too, but I'm usually only a couple of damage short and it's enough to get me over the line.
Just went literally undefeated from rank 10 to rank 5 with token druid. Something like 10 or 11 games. Decklist is similar to the one from the VS report, although I had to change a couple of things because I only have one Arcane Tyrant and one Wispering Woods. I even beat a guy who Blood Knighted me.

Submitted a ticket to Blizz. I've played against plenty of people with offensive names, but... Honestly, fuck that. Kids shouldn't have to see a name like that. Plus, he beat me.
That counts as a war crime in my book.

Yeah I was wondering why whoever made that image only noticed it from this set.

Hey this is me! What'd you replace it with? For now I went with one Living Mana, but I'm not sure if sacking all your mana for tokens is the right move for the deck.

Deathrattle rogue is pretty fun. Similar to old cubelock where at 10 mana you can cube leeroy, hit something with necrium blade, and suddenly you have 18 damage going face.
I’ve been running myna (one of my pack legendary pulls) and so far she has yet to be completely useless, and once or twice has saved the game by copying rotten applebam or that 8 mana heal 8 from witchwood. She could probably be replaced by a 2nd vilespine or a prep or hell, even dk val.

Decklist was in the post under the spoiler.
So another PotW and an Ironwood. Did you consider Living Mana or do you think it's not a good include?
Didn't consider it but I don't think it fits in the deck. Living Mana is more for aggressive decks and this deck is much more mid rangey/controlly.
I was surprised by how much thought was needed to play the deck. Setting up good plays a few turns ahead, playing around common punishes, baiting common punishes when you have a stronger follow up, and knowing when to be the beatdown are especially important for this deck. It's been some of the funnest Hearthstone I've played in a while.
Also always count for lethal! I was frequently surprised by how much damage I could do in a single turn once I'd gotten a decent board to stick.

Got to rank 5 with deathrattle hunter and suddenly everyone is playing zoo with the godhand keleseth soul infusion doubling imp/chain gang opener, 6 losses in a row
e: switched to odd rogue and immediately started queuing into maly druids and control warriors, this is the work of a vengeful god and a shitty karmic signature

Or fixed matchmaking, which I have been claiming for awhile now and still believe.
So Muffin's Craftapalooza a bit late this time around (I wanted to hit the pity timer again before I did any crafting since I was so close).
Obviously Tyrantus is a bit left-field but I've always admired him and you can never have too many dinosaurs in your collection. Hagatha is more staple than I ever expected her to be so that was a necessity now.
After crafting those 5 legendaries from Boomsday, I'm only missing 3: Cloning Gallery, Myra and Dr. Morrigan. I really don't expect any of them to see serious play in Standard.
I also crafted 7 epics, all just getting second copies of stuff. Like Unexpected Results and Thunderhead.
(ignore me swinging in with the lifesteal first instead of Vinecleaver it's my first time playing Ziliax >_>)
Kangor's Endless Army is a pretty good card when it resurrects a 3/7 Lifesteal/Rush/Taunt/Divine Shield Mechano-Egg, an 8/8 Robosaur, and a 1/2 Annoy-o-tron.
Some info on the upcoming single-player content, releasing on Tuesday, August 21st.
Highlights:
Over 100 puzzles
4 Puzzle types: Lethal (kill the enemy), Survive (reverse lethal), Board Clear (all minions!), Mirror (match their board)
Final Lab is 4 tough puzzles against Dr. Boom
Puzzles are packed into groups of 8 to reduce load times (seamless transitions between puzzles)
All puzzles are 1-turn only
The "end turn" button is replaced with a Reset button to speed things up
3 free packs for logging in after Puzzle Lab releases
No deck construction required
You know what they should do next? Make an intro area for people starting up to actually learn the basics of this without weird cards! Have it so the people just starting out learn trade, board clears, spot the lethal, or at least the "keywords" so people understand what the heck divine shield means, or rush, or charge...
(I forgot to take a screenshot of the fuckin' Rank 3 screen so you get this jank-ass version instead)
I teched in a Mossy Horror to deal with Giggles (as well as just, other stuff) and it's REALLY GODDAMN GOOD. Wow. Yeah that shit's putting in some serious work.
LOTTA ONE-OFS. But they're all super important and serve a purpose. Astromancer is a SOLID fucking addition to the deck, to the point where I might actually just add two (and cut 2nd Acolyte for it). Really high value card. Voodoo Doll seems strange considering Keleseth, but you also don't always draw Keleseth (or you draw Doll before K, etc). Still an important card for dealing with Big Assholes (maybe that's the one I cut instead).
Skulking Geist still MVP.

It's sort of morbidly amusing playing against a Rogue when they drop Academic Espionage since it can wreck you oh-so-many ways depending on what class you're playing at the time.

Yeah, Living Mana didn't seem like the best option but I just tried it since it's another card to give you a board (which I've found sometimes you just don't get the cards to do so). Maybe I'll put in a PotW instead (the list I copied plays none).
Officially the unluckiest CCG player ever.

Honestly I wonder if more people should be running Mossy Horrors.
For all the complaints of Giggling Inventor (granted, it's warranted) and Spreading Plague, Mossy's a preeeeetty good tech card vs those
Blood Knight's also pretty damn good in this meta right now but not many people have caught on to that.

blood knight only removes the shields
you still have 2 taunts to get through
puts a 3 mana 9/9 on board though
blood knight is a better pick for aggressive/faster decks that can't afford to run mossy horror (like zoo, or odd rogue, etc)

candleshot, egg, play dead, play dead on the mulligan

turn 2: tracking for terrorscale
turn 3: egg coin play dead
turn 4: terrorscale play dead
turn 5: cube egg

Priest and Druid are up next, each in the low 400's for Ranked wins. Think I'll start with Druid next.

Finally made it. 4 star was against an aluneth who got unlucky with cinders and 5 star was a shaman that instantly conceded once he saw I was rogue.
First rank 10 game as deathrattle rogue was against another rogue and I had egg, cube, and two deathrattle weapons in opening hand. Easy game.
