If it wasn't poorly thought out and dumb, it wouldn't be Eurovision.

The absolute number one complaint all of my bi friends have about dating apps is that 80-90% of the attention they get it is from couples who want them to guest-star and like ugh don't you fuckers have a female acquaintance who you can bang and then awkwardly never speak to again or something.

It's weird it happened on OKCupid, though, since you can put "nonmonogomous" in your bio and filter for that.

People can still find and talk to you, doubletake will show you people outside of your search parameters fairly regularly as long as some percentage lines up.

Personally as a bi person I just used different accounts/aps for finding men and finding women.

Online dating is obnoxious enough without all the bs ideas people have about bi people.

Thank you so much for asking <3

I'm okay! My partner who did the thing and I are working through stuff slowly, and we're working on both of us being more open and honest about our needs/wants (even when shit is uncomfortable and awkward and potentially upsetting). My other partners & people have been super amazingly supportive and that was a revelation, knowing that I had a whole community of love behind me if things went completely cattywampus.

Ultimately, relationships are work and sometimes that work is messy and painful, but there's also joy in sharing that mess.

Love thread life protip tho: learn to get good at talking about your Feelings (I'm looking at you, cis dudes) because shoving them down until you act out is bullshit.

Feeling feelings and talking about feelings is fucking scary and awful and ugh.

    But also super important.

But also awkward as fuck and did I mention scary?

    This, so much!

gf and I were having some issues and decided to see a couples counselor and having it come out that we both needed to work on communication helped immensely. We have set aside a time every week to make sure we talk, without distractions about anything whether it be what we want for our future, or something that bothered us, or just whatever.

    Yessssssssssssss so proud :+1:

Honestly though, communication is super important in every type of relationship.

I've learned a lot about myself and my own needs from discussions with my former partner during our separation and was also able to really understand their needs as well, and it has allowed us to transition to a stable friendship.

Girlfriend and me were out getting something to eat and I really had to make a double take because some guy eating at the place looked exactly like John Goodman in the Big Lebowsky; body type, face, hair, beard, slightly different west and shirt, but it was uncanny.

So I got back into dating sites again. I managed to get a response, and we've sent a few messages back and forth. But the woman I'm messaging hasn't asked me any questions about myself. It's not that I'm dying for the attention or anything like that, but it's starting to come across like she doesn't really care to know more about me?

I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it. Just kind of bugs me, is all.

I completely forgot about my pay being two weeks behind, so I just got a full paycheck

Gives me a little more time to get this missing mail thing sorted out

And the short term disability insurance company may not have mailed a check this week anyways

    Very relieved today
But also really wishing my company didn't outsource most of it's HR stuff

    To multiple companies

    In different time zones

Emotions are shit and I silence mine with alcohol and work. This probably isn't a sustainable strategy, but neither is the conspicuous consumption of the western world, so whatevs.

Emotions are great when they're working correctly. When they short circuit and keep you from functiong as a normal human being it suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Girlfriend has been having dental pain (has an appointment on Monday to get an ornery wisdom tooth removed) but we are meeting up tomorrow at little tokyo to get some ramen as soup is about all she can manage but she is getting sick of her soup at home. Probably get some coffee too. Poor thing, dental pain is the worst. :(

And then on Monday after the surgery I'm going to hang out at her place and make sure she's okay and watch TV with her. We started Maniac last time I was over so probably going to finish that up.

When i am having pain in my jaw area, coffee usually makes it more sharp, probably due to higher heart rate pumping more blood and the nerves are more sensitive. Ramen sounds nice, i'd love to go to a real ramen shop outside on a street. hope you'll have a great time
