Anyone ever heard of the Black Mages? It's kind of a rock band that plays Final Fantasy Music started by the man, Nobuo Uematsu himself. Here's their website-http://www.square-enix.com/uematsu/black_mages/index.html.
If you want to listen to more of their music, use this. I highly recommend Jenova. It kicks ass.
Well the point of this post is that if we could get these guys to the next PAX, well, I would shit bricks.
Personally, I think the Ultimate Trio of geek music would be MC Frontalot, MC Chris, and The Minibosses... That is all I require... They had two of them at PAX04, get MC Chris next year too...
Oh, and honestly, I dont really care for Final Fantasy, but The Black Mages would be better then the piano versions of the music that made me fall asleep at this years show...

I liked what I heard of that stuff. I was only there for a little bit of that but it was enjoyable. Not something I'd want to see again, though.
We had a pretty lengthy discussion in the volunteer forums about this... lemme just quote it here:
Trust me, this has crossed my mind and my inbox more than once... and i'd love nothing more than to have these guys there, but i can guarantee that it would cost us a pretty penny or at least be more of a pain in the ass than it's worth. Given that Uetmatsu is actually the keyboardist, the extra security, entourage, hassle etc. etc. might not be worth it.
Either way, I'll be in contact with Square's PR, but given the success of their Dear Friend's concert, I can only imagine they're thinking they can do this sort of thing themselves.

As far as Stemmage/Metroid Metal, we tried to get them to come this year to PAX, but it turns out "they" are just one dude, which is pretty incredible if you ask me. I extended the open invite to him (grant henry), in case he ever got a band together, however.
Thats why i linked it. Listened to Machinae Supermacy allready too?

You wouldn't be able to get anything better.
