So, I was under the impression that Shazam! was set in the same universe as the Justice League and Aquaman. Am I wrong in that?
Because it seems really odd that, in that setting, there'd be Bat merch in the toy aisle.
I mean, in universe, it's only been, what, a couple of months since he was branding criminals and sending them to their almost inevitable deaths in jail? Sure, let's whip some toys up for this dangerously nutty vigilante, kids'll love him.
I do wonder how that licensing agreement would look. Though, I also wonder if there are clowns in Gotham (other than Joker, of course), and how often they get shot by mistake. So it may just be me.
I believe DC has said they are through with trying to go with a connected universe and instead are just going to make movies where some connect and some don't. So essentially every movie is in it's own continuity until it isn't.
Honestly I think it's the way to go. Marvel is far and away the most successful at the connected universe shtick and even then I sometimes find the combined weight of all those movies a bit much. I don't want to feel obligated to watch three movies I'm not super interested in just so I have the full context necessary to appreciate one movie I am interested in.
I am not feeling Zachary Levy as Shazam/not Captain Marvel. The part should have gone to John Cena. He looks like what every 10 year old boy wishes he could look like and he has the comedic talent to pull it off.
As for DC movies, they are on boycott after Suicide Squad. Not seeing one of their movies in the theater unless its Wonder Woman 2. Life is too short.
The sky was full of stars, every star an exploding ship. One of ours.

Could be good, optimistic, hopefully you don't really have the kid in it a lot because kid actors ruin everything (never read the book), but it makes me wish for an East of West series with a Game of Thrones budget.
Though I kept wondering if they filmed some of that at The Grand Tour's eboladrome track.

are they still planning to have The Rock play Black Adam? Because Cena and The Rock in costumes wailing on each other would be great, and probably the closest I'd get to watching wrestling.

This dropped on Netflix today and I was kinda interested because Max Martini was listed on instantwatcher, but it looks like some CW magic show knockoff so pass:

So The Magicians, but like not good and with none of the self awareness?
Pretty much. I watched 3 and a half episodes of it over the weekend and its not really good. Espcially since I am also currently watching the second season of "The Magicians" on Amazon.

It would have been better if they'd just straight used Masters of War instead of mixing it with a generic game score.

Bautista with a mustache looks good.
This movie is so edgy, it was probably written by a sharpened dodecahedron.
