SOMEWHAT UNRELATED but, i was watching marche last night too and he had a game where his KTZ would just keep walking up into melee range or otherwise splitting off by himself and die
a lot
and miss all his combos
and then whenever he died he'd claim that "medivh jumped me" or that he "got caught out"
and it was the most frustrating. thing. in the world. to watch
i could feel marche's tilt across the internet, through the cosmos, into my own room
"Medivh" jumped him!?!? Medivh isn't the character that I normally think of as someone who jumps anyone. Now I can understand Medivh facilitating some devastating jumps, but Medivh by himself???
Masters touch completed medivh can totally rock a ktz if his cooldowns are down or misses the chain.

O I'm sure that dude was bad; comment was just to point out that medivh actually puts out a stupid amount of damage once stacked
I mean, I can get how Medivh can win a duel handily if the pilot is on top of his game.
I guess that my definition of "jumping" someone is heavily punishing someone for a mistake and straight up ganking them with little room for counterplay once they've made the fatal mistake. Like KTZ getting a bit too far from his team and too close to some bushes, then whoops Kerrigan is in those bushes. Wombo combo dead. Something where you and any allies nearby have maybe a few tenths of a second to intervene to avert death.
A well played Medivh I can see chasing someone exceptionally well and winning many duels, but I don't see him by himself instantly punishing someone with 100 to zero, blink and you miss it deaths.

The implication of "jumped" that I'm familiar with is closely tied to dive, which makes a lot of sense with Medivh who gives a free pass for himself or anyone on his team to suddenly appear directly atop KTZ then go right back out at basically zero risk.

I definitely feel like all the quest mechanics added to the game implicitly nerfed TLV. It's a lot easier to land skillshots on only partially-attended heroes.
My first taste of Mal'ganis was doing my brawls tonight. Thankfully, it was someone on our team who had him. He was playing crazy recklessly and doing dives that would probably get any other hero killed and often getting away with it. He still had a lot of deaths in the end, but the amount of damage he soaked while putting out reasonable damage and disruption was pretty crazy.
First MVP w/Zeratul! Crazy bonkers long game, as is standard on that map. Regardless, the game is slowly starting to "slow down" when I play him. Still not 100% confident on what I'm doing, and I know I'm missing out on damage, but it's coming along nicely.

Honestly my winrate with them is great and they can be super effective. It's just a lot of work.
There was a time, a glorious time, back in the day where if you were good with TLV you were basically guaranteed to win. So easy it became boring
In news about our other favorite specialist, apparently there's a bunch of bugs with Abathur clones. I wish Malthael had more balanced talent selection. Some of the tiers feel like a joke especially the early quest talents that don't yield any sort of benefit until completed. I like the overall change to making his autos have cleave, but his teamfight presence seems to be lacking due to Reaper being a niche ult outside of comboing him with Ana for cool down redux.

I couldn't have done it without your DETAILED CHARACTER posts with tactics, protips, and set-ups.
BTW, in that Volkskaya game, I survived a 3v1 on the C point to help secure the objective. It wasn't long mind you and it was against a Johanna, Tass, and D.Va so the DPS wasn't insane. I got the clean up kill on Tass then held out against Jo/D.Va until our Mal'Ganis arrived. I was so focused trying to hop into them and get x2 Cleaves for cooldown reduction and insane heals. Finally Jo died and Mal and I finished off D.Va. I was so hyped and started fist pumping and yelling at my monitor, much to the wife's surprise.

To be fair, QM and HL are very different beasts. Maybe if I can start holding my own in HL, then we can talk.
Besides, GM is fine. I just wanted to try out Zeratul since I've seen him be so dominate against squishy folks. It's tough though knowing when it's safe to stay in and when it's best to just peace out. Plus I'm still not playing him optimally, missing chances to Vorpal Blade to a target for the kill.

Remember when they used to have weekly sales? This was a while back, but every week you could buy a different hero for, like $3. That was soooo easy to justify before I had a bunch of gold like nowadays. I remember I got Tychus that way, can't remember who else though.

That's how I ended up buying both Anub and Kerrigan along with their skins I really liked, played them for two weeks, and then basically never played them again.
Though that's mostly bc they were garbo for a long time, and when Anub went through periods of being OP I realized I just didn't like his playstyle.

also throwback to this convo where I vastly underestimated what they'd do to Kerri
how does a hero like kerrigan do literally anything in the current meta.
she's got basically no mana so she can't stay in fights ever, she's insanely squishy, her burst is fairly weak and requires landing an extremely difficult combo when everyone is warping all around the screen at 200 mph, she has no sustain, and no escape.

what does she do better than anyone.
She looks pretty cool!
she has like 500 less hp than fenix at similar levels. and fenix has an indestructible.
i need blizzard to explain why a ranged assassin with incredible sustain has more hp than a melee dive hero with no sustain. i honestly wonder if they even know what balance is.
Considering the Jimmy treatment, their bar for balancing things is just way above an old hero like her. Wait for her rework where Primal Grasp slows by 20% for 3 seconds and she has a level 1 talent that increases all damage done to slowed and stunned targets by 35%.
