I am King Edward. I am 69 years old and dying. I have had three children: oldest Son 1, middle Daughter 1, and the youngest Son 2.
I had always hoped Son 1 would inherit; he unfortunately predeceased me whilst fighting those bastards in SE++, but his virile seed left a child son (Son's Son). My daughter is single and educated and ambitious. My second son didn't really think about becoming king at first - but now he's sure he'd make a better one than a child, at any rate.
You are my obsequious yet ambitious dukes, and already my issue are currying for your favor (and your armies and your food). The succession law is very cloudy on this issue, what with all the historical foreign interventions and odd internal compromises in the name of necessity.

I have to correct people a lot that I am not a doctor in something with my job since I am a senior researcher and one of the main faces of the research side of the program.
Best was I got marked as the author for like a month of one of the big survey reports that isn't even my office. I was just in the acknowledgements as I helped write some survey questions but the program that marks authorship grabbed that instead of the authors.
Yeah that little shit was always told it would fall to him... he's a dick. He's gonna get so many of his followers brained.
Second son was always told he'd never have to deal with it. He's much more laid back. He's barely in this succession. Sisters gonna kill that little shit of a nephew for the crown, she don't fuck around. Second son just wants to make sure him and his friends get to keep being rich and having few if any real responsibilities. His bid is less about success and more about maintaining position and defending from various assassinations.
