Hopefully the stuff like Redux missions, "Get Super kills in Crucible," and "Defeat minibosses" are account-wide, and not class-specific. That would really cut down on the grind. Plus, I don't want to do the Redux missions three times apiece if I don't have to .
At least some of them have to work across classes. The Legend rank one for instance. Rank is tracked account wide so it would be weird to attach it to a single character. But who knows.
400 Power Weapons: The only way to get 400 Power armor before Forsaken is by participating in the Summer Solstice event, but the only way to get 400 Power weapons before Forsaken is by completing Prestige Spire of Stars and Eater of Worlds. Every time you complete all the encounters in a Prestige raid lair that week, you will be rewarded a 400 Power raid weapon. This can be any raid weapon from Destiny 2, not just the weapons that drop in that raid lair.
“Good, good, make them the only ones that can reach power level 400”
I mean, the Handcannon, Pulse, Scout, Rocket Launcher, Sword (as much as it can be) are all good. The Auto I know a lot of people like. There are definitely guns that are the same/better depending on preference but most of the raid weapons that are pretty good. They are just bland.

The sword is pretty much ass after they changed it, isnt it? It doesnt regenerate ammo slightly anymore.
But the problem is that all the raid guns are worse than stuff you can get from the gunsmith Edit: and Vanguard.
If your endgame content gives worse guns that people already got, thats a problem.

Personally I found almost every D1 raid gun inferior to other weapons (VoG weapons being the exception). Regarding the Leviathan weapons, I use the hand cannon, rocket launcher, and shotgun all the time.
I just wish the raid weapons would all get a bonus perk to cause either extra damage to Cabal, or extra damage while in the Leviathan. I know people would say "but you already get some extra damage buffs from the raid armors. Isn't THAT enough?" and my answer to that is - No, no it's not.

But this is completely false.
Midnight Coup, Sins of the Past and Inaugural Address are all top-tier tied-for-best-in-slot.
The Sword is, well, it's top-tier imo in that it's as good as a sword can be in Destiny 2. The problem there is swords in general.
Ghost Primus and Zenith of your King are both solid picks too. I think Last of the Legion is actually pretty good too but suffers from being a sidearm, which are useless in most things.
I got a 400 power grenade launcher last week which is basically equivalent to Bungie coming to my house and kicking me right in the dick.
I got the sidearm and the grenade launcher as my first 2 400 drops. I'm still trying to decide whether 400 The Colony or 400 THe Prospector would be more useful. And whether I should bother with a 400 Rat King or just keep the sidearm around in case the loadout in prestige is kinetic sidearm one week.

I sharded it for Masterwork cores because fuck Grenade Launchers.
The majority of raid guns are good. Inaugural Address, Sins of the Past, Midnight Coup, Last of the Legion, Alone as a God, and Emperor's Envy are all great. I'm also partial to the Conspirator, personally. The Ghost Primus has some good synergy between its traits. It stared back may not have infinite ammo anymore, but it still has the combo of hitting enemies a lot makes you do more damage and hitting enemies a lot lets you hit enemies longer, which is a good combo any way you cut it.
Does 400 power even matter versus 385? If not, that's an even bigger issue.
It matters for Spire of Stars. That's about it.

I did mean Gunsmith/Vanguard originally, clarified in earlier post.
I dont really agree on Ghost Primus at all, fuck that unstable gun, I dont use fusions and I have the EP sniper that shits on the raid one.
Shotgun is a direct step down if you have the EP one (seems on par with Hawthornes), Midnight Coup is also worthless to me, I use Crimson, that isnt going to change soon unless they nerf it.
I just have to replace better guns with worse guns if I want to get the bigger numbers because Bungie feels like it, what is the point of the infusion system then?

If you are using Crimson, just infuse it. There, done.
Shotgun is basically equivalent to any of the other rapid-fire ones that are the best in PvE unless you have the EP one, which is just flat out broken. So yeah, it's Hawthorne's but just slightly different.
The better numbers are basically useless except in Spire of Stars anyway and the whole point is to have some specific special gear right before the new expansion drops. It's not a way to really really slowly let you upgrade to 400 power level overall, cause it's a really shitty system for that.

I had a ton of favorites among them, but seeing as they were all elemental primaries they were pretty much S-Tier even if the gun itself was crap.
Except the Oryx and Crota Handcannons, those were awful even if they were elemental primaries.
The only non-VoG D1 raid guns I miss are the shotty and HMG from King's Fall and those just because Cocoon.
Sins of the Past having Cocoon is a strong factor in why it's my go-to heavy aside from Tarantula.
...though I'd take any HMG in D2. It's been a year and I still miss my chunka-chunka-chunka of death.
That still leaves the Conspirator, Inaugural Address, Sins of the Past, It Stared Back, and... I'm not sure if you were blowing off the Last of the Legion along with the Midnight Coup or not. Like it seems kinda like you were blowing off anything in the kinetic slot, but you didn't specifically mention it, so I'm not sure.
But also, you maining Crimson and not using fusions doesn't make Midnight Coup and Emperor's Envy bad, that's just a matter of taste. They're still good weapons even if you don't feel like using them.
Speaking as someone who is generally down on D2, the Solstice of Heroes stuff didn't strike me as grindy, it's just...playing the game. Some things like nightfall / prestige raid are out of reach for people sure, but the bulk of it wasn't terrible, if you're just aware of the reqs.
I mean, if you want all sets for all three classes, good luck sure, but in general...

My point was that you can get comparable guns or better without stepping foot outside the Tower, no I'm not going to list a one by one comparison on 15 guns or however many that are now.
I have all the notable raid guns and they didnt impress me that much, I expected more from raid weapons, as in special perks or similar.
Sins of the Past was an exception though, I used that for quite a while, I just dont really use RL's these days but have heard of similarly strong ones from CoO and Warmind.
Why? Raid weapons in Destiny 1 generally weren't flat upgrades to non-raid weapons. In the sense of their perks, that is.
They had a bunch of the most iconic guns in the entire franchise.
The Vault of Glass ones in particular, that is what I want raid guns to be again.
Yeah.
Though I guess with the smart loot they have in the lairs it's potentially problematic giving us an inevitable drop of a great gun that we never put down again.

Edit: I still remember people losing their minds after getting a Fatebringer or a Mythoclast.
And then they stopped doing that because people complained. A lot as I remember.
Citation needed.
Bungie let you ascend those guns up to max light as far as House of Wolves, and later gave all the (elemental primaries) raid guns back in the form of exotics in Rise of Iron where they made all the old raids drop loot at max light.

Wait, guys, I got an idea.
What about if we make it Glory legendary, eh?

Yes. In Spire of Stars. And ... that's it afaik.
