I kinda loved the whole "Werewolves vs Undead" stuff in Silverpine Forest and Gilneas.

It's like freakin' Halloween town year-round up there.

I can get why they wouldn't want high elves because they are literally indistinguishable from Blood Elves except for eye colors and while they are willing to get close to that line with the High mountain Tauren, big moose antlers are more immediately recognizable

But they could have done better than High Elves that shop at Hot Topic

I honestly understand why people like the idea of these races but after several new actual races these all just seem like palette swaps to me.
I think the Tauren and Draenei definitely are

But, while lame, the Void Elves have enough of a different flair than Blood Elves that I think they re a bit different and the Nightborne are basically a fully fledged new race outside of using the Night Elf skeleton

The Dark Iron and Mag'har are also palette swaps, but ones people have been wanting for over a decade so I don't mind too much

I'm not really gonna complain about Allied Races as a thing though because they are way less resource intensive than brand new races from the ground up so they can introduce more of them (we are probably going to get 5-6 new races per faction by the end of the expansion) and I like that they re trying to make the Horde and Alliance feel more like actual factions made up of a lot of different, smaller groups working together rather than just the Big 4 Vanilla WoW races

Having a Horde city with Nightborne in it alone is weird and I dig it

So I’ve been leveling as a ret paladin but are they...good?? I feel like I don’t do very great damage I may be doing it wrong though

the other WoW thread is saying ret's in a bad spot in terms of their rotation leaving lots of long pauses of having no buttons to press, I don't know if their actual DPS is bad though.

Legion Ret was middle-of-the-pack in single-target DPS in raids. Top third in cleave fights. Bottom third in multi-boss/major AoE fights. I just messed around in it in alt runs, but it was very easy to pick up and slam ~1.5M DPS with my normally-Prot Paladin. It's particularly good at burst damage with Crusade. It's been even more ridiculous in pre-patch, imo, and seems to be one of the top DPS specs in Warcraft Logs, but I'm the one in the other thread learning about it apparently sucking at 120 due to secondary stat distribution in BFA.

I found questing with it pretty annoying though, due to the need to build up resources and then expend it. Was probably faster on rare elites and such, but obviously more fragile, and I generally preferred Prot leveling for scooping big packs of normal enemies at once, from range, and never having my flow interrupted. Didn't level with it though, so don't know what they feel like at lower levels.

I made a trial character to farm certain items. but it's a paladin and thus ret.

There were these moments where I popped wings and then didnt have skills to use on GCDs. That's bad and dumb and I hate it. The end. Thanks for reading please be sure to subscribe to my blog posts.

90-100 has always been a bit better because you can blow through levels by using bonus objectives and XP pots (either from the Garrison or Rapid Mind, but those are expensive these days), plus the passive +20% XP buff from Tavern in Spires of Aram

You can also start Legion at 98, should you get tired of Draenor

I did 90-101almost entirely on Draenor treasures, and I even forgot to get potions for like a third of it. Also I never got the tavern because that would require questing.
Is pet battle grinding good for Legion levels? Cuz that’s the part I really super don’t want to do now

Unholy and Ret are kind of in the same boat where there can be a period of time with no buttons to push, but that can be remedied for Unholy by gaining haste. I am not sure if Ret's issue there is cooldown-based or resource-based (or both?).

Ok for a returning player can this be translated because it is kind of gibberish to me

Are the bonus objectives on quests? Is it pvp stuff? What is the garrison

Garrison is a WoD specific feature. When you first get to Draenor there is an hour long linear sequence of quests at the end of which you get you Garrison and can then go wherever and do whatever. It's essentially an armed compound of your faction and you are the leader there. It will make a lot more sense when you get there.

One of the things you can buy with garrison specific currency (called garrison resources, that you earn from many activities while playing WoD) is potions that increase XP gains.

Bonus objectives are quests that don't have a questgiver. Instead, when you walk into an area they are active in a bar appears on the screen. The bar fills as you kill mobs and interact with doodads in that area. When the bar is full you get a bunch of XP and garrison resources and the bar goes away. These are one time only per character and there is several such areas in each WoD zone.

I’m an idiot but from my perspective it is cool down based. Unless I’m missin something, there are three buttons to gain holy power:

-light attack that has two charges and a relatively short cooldown when those are burned, not sure how long. It provides 1 holy power
    - medium attack that has a 10.5 second cooldown and gives 2 power
    - Judgement, with a 12 second cooldown and gives 1 holy power

You can hold a max of five holy power charges, and both of your HP moves use three

So you can roll up, opening with judgement and he two light attacks, then use your hp move. Then medium attack to get two more charges, and at that point you probably have a light attack ready. But after that second HP move, you’re out of power and both long cooldown are still going.

For me, so far, it’s very hurky jerky.

I don’t know if it changed in bfa, but the cooldowns for crusader strike and blade of judgment are decreased with haste, so you can be a lot more active with higher haste.

Even in legion, unholy can be resource jammed. Having runic tattoos helped a lot to get out extra death coils, and apocalypse refunding 2 runes, as well as pestilent pustules being the go to talent. If you had bad luck with runic corruption, you’d be stuck doing nothing for a while waiting on runes. It’s a lot more likely to happen in bfa on account of losing those 3 things I listed, I’m not sure how much haste will help. It also feels like they reduced the RPPM on sudden doom, but I could be imagining it. The increased cost of death coil made sense in legion with runic tattoos and all the extra resources, but I think it might be a good idea to lower the cost of death coil back to 35 RP.

    Honestly
    I'm just bored

    We already did this story!

We have had a corrupt Horde leader who committed war crimes and needed to be brought down! If you're gonna do it, at least do the Alliance this time. The Horde has had 4 different leaders, and The Alliance has had...2? 2.5? Fuckin have Malfurion bite it and Tyrande loses it or something
