TBH I probably will ignore BFA stuff for a bit. I have some leftover Legion content to finish, and some more mount/transmog farming. Did raid locks reset with the patch? Or is that still tomorrow.
I mostly want to finishing farming the Triumverate armor transmog things, I still need cloth and mail.
Then its onto the alts for a bit.
There's no plan, there's no race to be run
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
mmm I could be in trouble here. So I'm on my unholy DK and I talk to a stable master, it pops up the interface and apparently I've got a ghoul and an abomination!
So I fiddle with it, long story short my ghoul is now in the stable and my raise dead does nothing.

Oh my god they literally just built DKs out of Hunters.

I was briefly excited, all new kinds of undead I thought!
It's really highlighting how useless the ghoul has become for unholy though, only a slight dps loss.
I put in a ticket which was a damn trial in itself, you have to go through a maze of support options to finally be given the opportunity to place a ticket.

I'm taking a more chill approach to this expansion, I'm not running out the gate to be like OMFG KILL THE THINGS. I found the profession trainers on the alliance side, took a look around the harbor and such. And now I'm going to get myself a (late) lunch, eat it, read the news, watch a stream of another game, and come back later tonight to actually start doing things.
Horde one was pretty cool too...but I haven't been tasked with using my artifact weapons power on anything...Was that something we've already supposed to have done?
Because the first thing you do is go with Magni to handle a problem I thought would require it. But nope.

That was done a month or more before the prepatch.

It might be just the stable master near the zandalari port you arrive on. Don't talk to them unholy dk's. They're out to steal your ghoul.

Did it just happen off screen or did I miss it, is there a way for someone to see it again?

Huh. You can queue for BFA dungeons right off the bat, at least I could at 220 ilvl. We got 4 ilvl 210 items and then a hunter got an ilvl 280 pants off the last boss (!)
Also the bosses dropped azerite, and you get 75 azerite for each run. So I guess that's what people meant by farming dungeons for azerite.
Haven't dived into xpac yet, but can I just say how much I enjoy the class mount quests? The ones I've done so far have been well done and unique. Like the Hunter class campaign didn't wow me, but the class mount quest was pretty neat? Same with priest, same with DH.

Yeah camping trip with Odyn was fun.

Say my primary interest is unlocking the allied races, for horde I hear vol'dun is the place to start?
What about the Alliance?
You'll need to finish all three main story zones anyway. The reason you start in Vol'dun as Horde and Drustvar as Alliance is because those are the slowest zones with the toughest mobs so you want to do them while you're pre-116 and benefiting from item level on your raid gear, and legendaries.

That's cool but seems like a pretty wild jump. Isn't raid tier like 310 or something?

Every expansion has its Halloween zone. I'm liking Drustvar so far.
A bunch of people on Twitter made it sound as though there were several super spoiler cutscenes early in the xpac. Is that actually the case? As in anything significant happen or what?

Having done both intros now...not that I can think of.
Incidentally I think the horde intro was more interesting, certainly more tense. But I think I like the aesthetic of the alliance hub better.
Welp I made the mistake of taking a nap and now I hear the bugsack "fatality!" noise about 75% of the way into loading and the music dies and nothing happens.
That seems bad!
edit: There we go, tried and true method of "Complain on the internet" worked to get me in

I think Azerite items are the 280s? I know questing I've got 2 so far and they're 280 so maybe that's where they start.
I might just rotate through alts and milk rested XP all of the way this expansion. I have no desire to get on the loot treadmill again. No real point, considering that I don’t raid and don’t want to raid (beyond the LFR to see content and for free loot once a week).
Civics is not a consumer product that you can ignore because you don’t like the options presented.
So how was the launch? I’m (finally) on my way home now so I’ll actually get to play a bit
The servers seem to be slowly melting currently, but I had mostly no problems until now

A stranger and I found something in Tiragarde Sound. I'll mark it as a spoiler.
There was a chest up on a hill overlooking one of the initial quest-branch points. But next to it was an orc and a wyvern. The wyvern was red and boss level. It had... no animations beyond standing. So we fought it, it was basically a boss battle (and my earth elemental had to tank it, with me and the stranger provide not-spec heals), we killed it. No loot table. But then a few minutes later I noticed I suddenly had my first 10 points of War Resources.
