Oh huh you guys have a lot of tentacles in your art here and what's that? You're listening to the whispers in the waves? Oh yeah, N'Zoth is totally gonna show up.
Now I'm wondering if that "her heart is a crater and we have filled it" refers to Jaina's mom.
Only got my monk to 112.5 but we're in the troll zone Horde side and I think I'm maybe halfway through it? The aesthetic is very well done and I'm loving it thus far.
Played my druid briefly to herb and run around zones. The other two zones for the Horde side don't appear to have nearly as good of an atmosphere as the one near the pyramid does thus far, but I've not quested in them at all.
My druid is a leatherworker...not one freaking mob I've skinned is giving me stuff to make leather armor. Meanwhile I have like 200 of the item to make mail.

I am doing the desert. It has a lot of character and adorable South American fox like creatures.

I think I ran into one of their flight paths but didn't stay to quest there as I was just herbing.
I really want the Tortolla type race as a new race. I didn't know I needed to play a turtle race but I totally do now.
I was standing around outside the pyramid and I kept hearing this droning sound. I had no idea what it was, but it was loud and annoying. Then I noticed a big crate / treasure chest on the map and right nearby. Huh. That's out in the open, I should've seen it. Ah well.
I wander over and open it and it's taking awhile to open, so now I think it's one of those chests that spawn people to jump me. No one jumps me, but fellow Hordies are coming a-running. I crack it open and ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED, War Supplied or something. And it drops a rare two handed PvP mace.

Also, I can't be the only one shipping Princess Talanjii and Rokhan, can I?
I pray that you are.
I think that achievement only happens if you have Warmode on also. I was glad I happened across one in the wild when herbing on my druid. I can't imagine I'll leave Warmode on for much longer once more people hit max level.

Got to 111. Stopped questing for a bit to run around with @cptrugged getting him caught up to me. Got my artifact to level 2 and my second piece of azerite gear. A plate chest plate that shows my orc's chest. Its wonderful.
Loving the the Troll stuff. The aesthetic is great. Love the dinos. God I want to play one so badly.
I want whatever she used on the ship.
I want to ride one of the... spoiled for those that haven't gotten through the opening sequence to the Troll city

I had no time to play yesterday I think that is ok though. I am gonna take this one slow I think, not worry about rushing to max level so much...

You can I think. I rode something that was walking through the city and you could hop up on it like a passenger

Correct, it does require Warmode. I think I'm the only one that got the achieve, too, as the box was replaced by a Horde treasure box and no one else got it when they opened it. I guess you have to be the first to crack open the big crate, so glad I got that out of the way. Either that or I was blind. Also possible.
As I'm a warrior, unless I join a PvP guild or what not, warmode'll go off eventually for me too.
It's fun right now, though.

There are ones labeled "Caravan" walking around Zuldazar that you can ride. They're not very fast though.
I want one of the 5 million gold ones but I'm only sitting on about 1.5 million gold. Hopefully I can earn enough gold by the end of the expansion for one because "F yeah Dino!"
The mount is definitely very awesome but I'd way rather spend my excess gold on tokens.
i think the gold economy is in a really fascinating place where there's a huge middle class of players that shoot past the price for a lot of things and will never want for things like crafting materials or what have you, but will also never even come close to having enough money to get vanity purchases like that mount
I'd agree. My gold is because I pay my sub with cash and I ran something like 12 garrisons in WoD and another 4-5 in Legion. It made gold rather easy to come by as well.
I should really go and have my garrisons run for cash along with the class halls.
But effort.....
I am that middle class. I have about 50k gold. Never really want for anything but I can't buy the crazy expensive stuff. Most of my gold goes into collecting and upgrading heirloom gear or occasionally random mounts.

the way the economy is now players should basically always have enough gold for basic gameplay-related tasks as long as they're actively playing; the game throws enough gold at you and inflation is so severe that you kinda can't help it. I kinda suspect that one reason they're so sanguine about in-game sales of runs and so on is that it funnels that gold upward and effectively takes it out of the economy
I was surprised when we were selling m+ in Legion how many people would buy 15 keys that could easily have pubbed a run on their own, but would just pay for a carry rather than mess around with it.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
also you really gotta consider inflation when looking at the cost of that mount; by the time BFA is in full swing that five million will look more like 2.5 did in legion
which is still a considerable sum obviously, but still

Hey, quick question -- does anybody know what the requirements to unlock world quests at 120 are? I remember wishing I knew that I had to have rep with everyone earlier in my levelling process back in Legion, so I'm wondering if it's a similar thing this time around? In other words, should I dip into each of the zones for rep during levelling or should I just focus on one and then move to the next?
ETA : Looked it up, and it looks like you do need to be friendly with the BfA reps to unlock world quests. I'm friendly with the one for the zone I started in already, so I'll probably start a new zone tonight (assuming I can log in this time) and get to friendly, rinse and repeat, then pick one to finish for the loremaster achievement.

I never made more than a million in Legion. Then again, I stopped playing a month or two into the expac, and so was not running the gold missions on a consistent basis.
I have 650k and I feel poor. Granted, I blew 300k putting together my Dreadnought armor set in MoP, but still, that'd still only put me close to 1 million.

The gold missions don't exist anymore. The best use for the old garrisons now are maybe 30 slot bags? but 32 slot bags are coming now also.
Saurfang lost my vote for Warchief during the intro scenario. I can't get behind whiners and quitters. We'll see if he redeems himself.
The problem with Saurfang is the same problem as with Anduin.
Blizzard equates being a good guy or a strong moral center with being a passive do nothing.
It makes them utterly insufferable. They never act on their convictions to do anything useful if they aren’t pushed to the brink first, so yeah fuck ‘em. I’m gonna go do a cool night time commando mission while you mope, I hope I never see you again Saurfang.

I think the real question is why, exactly, was the Alliance holding two senior officials of Zandalar, a political entity with whom they are not at war, captive?
I feel like that didn't get explored at all but that seems like a big rights violation!

The alliance side just sort of goes
"Oh yeah these two trolls got broken out of the stockades. One was a princess and one was a prophet!"
I assumed we'll get more info at some point but I haven't gotten there yet.

I mean I'm okay with the Horde PC being like "oh we're rescuing these people okay whatever I guess"
but like
why was the Alliance holding them
you can't just stick people in jail because they resemble some people you're currently at war with

The Zandalari attacked the alliance and horde in pandaria in order to resurrect a mogu king, don't think that war ever stopped

She was going to the Horde for help. Zul was with her for reasons, I know I haven't gotten to that in the story but I kind of spoiled myself. She was probably intercepted by the Alliance who commandeered her ship and took her to Stormwind for conspiring to work with with their enemies. Top it off remember Trolls are native to Azeroth. Humans have been fighting them since before the Orcs invaded in War1. And the Zandalari Empire has a nasty fleet but is pretty isolationist so you can probably try and stall or keep them out of the war for now is a good thing.
Also the Alliance has never needed a reason to lock up the "monstrous" races or non-human races. They just cool with it.
Something that's nice about questing in Drustvar is actually getting some lore for a human society that isn't just Light worship. Human lore in game is basically "They came from vrykul, then a bunch of time passed, and now they're paladins." There's the slightest hint at some stuff with Gilnean druids, but the Drust are the first look at what a human society might actually look like in the years between now and the creation of Azeroth.
