I mean, I specifically said it looks cool, because I didn't get a chance to play it (the line always seemed capped, but again, it was most likely for KH3)
I did play The Quiet Man (FMV brawler by way of Tommy Wiseau?) and Vlambeer's new untitled joint.
Ummmmm...The Surge is awesome! I feel like I blinked and 2 hours are gone. The comparisons to Dark Souls is very apt because that's exactly what it is - from the way shortcuts work and general areas/etc. It's like Dark Souls meets Dead Space meets System Shock 2.
I just got through
the power plant
and
killed that optional dude and took his hammer.
I love it! I can't believe I never heard of it. Thanks again! Will definitely play through this one and I'm happy they are talking about a sequel.
If you're talking about the
funky spaceman
after you reactivate your power core in the very beginning of the game you can
go back out of ops toward where you first started the game, go down the tube on the right, and make a right at the end, there's a hidden little spot where another spaceman spawns. That one and the one near the giant smelter robot both respawn whenever you use the medbay, and you can farm a set of their gear from them as well. It requires like 35 power just to wear on its own, so it'll be a while before you can use the whole set, but it's pretty sweet looking.
Also you can drop songs in .flac or .wav or .ogg format into [username]/documents/The Surge/songs and they will play in the medbay.
Seriously, the only reason I didn't get into FX was they had no real tables. And this isn't likely to change anything since I will probably have 90% of the tables they do get. (I suspect they might not get many pre-'86 tables due to them being 'boring' for lack of ramps and geegaws on the field.)
But, if they get Fire!, then I'll get that. TPA already has two of my top four tables (#2 and #4). If FX gets the other two, then that would be cool. Until then, this is only just disappointing, if unsurprising, news.

Hrm. For both of those things I want the answer to be yes. My older son is nearing the age of acquiring his own Steam account, and I've got a "You can play these" category set up for him on my account (for each of my sons actually) so he doesn't go wandering through my account willy nilly.
I guess for games where he has a lot of hours built up already, we'll have to decide whether to get him his own copy to start from scratch or to let him keep playing those on my account.
It will be sad when he's no longer farming Civ V and VI cheevos for me.

I can't possibly imagine why that would be a bad thing.
Man, do I miss being able to remote install. Ever since that big UI update, I've not been able to do so. Was hoping to have a big game downloaded to fire up when I got home but instead I'll start the install when I get home for it to finish JUST when I should go to bed. I'll have to decide between being patient and making bad decisions =p.
Anybody know how to view the Followed list on the mobile app?
From the start page (or Menu->Store->Catalog), scroll up. You might have to wait a few seconds for it to finish loading before it lets you scroll up (wait for the Featured & Recommended bar to appear). Then go Your Store -> Followed Games & Software.

Maybe it varies from game to game, but isn't it usually possible to copy the save files stored locally on your computer to a different account?
For 15 $ we can get, among others, Oxenfree, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Shadow Tactics: Blades of Shogun, Wasteland 2, The Final Station and Last Day of June.

It also seems like a great bundle if you feel like playing around with Unity. Lots of Unity Asset bundles and add-ons. I'm going to jump on the top tier for Torment, Shadow Tactics and the Unity Game Development course
I've never played a Yakuza game before and bought 0 on steam on a whim as I was also trying to get into shenmue and just..couldn't due to how dated it was. Anyway mind=blown. I can't wait for Kiwami to hit steam now and i might need to buy the rest on PS4. There's just something magical about the first time you pick up a motorcycle and beat a guy with it.

As someone who just finished Yakuza 0, it's super good! Didn't like, 100% it, because that would like double my hours played, but I did most of the side stories and completed the cabaret club thing. So gud.

I haven't beaten Yakuza 0 yet, but I did do a sidequest to help a struggling dominatrix learn how to call men pigs and humiliate them. So gud.
Sure, it's not like there's a famous article written fourteen years ago about the prevalence of racial slurs used in one-on-one multiplayer matches or anything.

Valve HQ must be some kind of alternate dimension wunderland where everyone is too fearful to engage in any one on one conversation in the same way the number three is as a crucifix to a newly christened vampire. Everyone stays in their cubicles ignoring support emails while jacked into some matrix like VR demo that's really just a hats economics simulator.
That's probably not what the real valve is like, but close enough?
Also, if people only misbehave when there "is somebody else to observe them misbehaving," then what the fuck do they think the person on the other side of the one-one-one game is?

lol Valve, why is a billion dollar company ran like a garage indie game dev?
Valve strikes me as an entire company who things they're the smartest people in the room. They don't want to do the most obvious, well known thing to solve problems. (Like hiring people to moderate and curate their bullshit) they want to invent ways to automate or otherwise fix the problem with the least human interactions possible.
I think Valve's goal is to eventually have the entire company run by Gabe Newell uploaded into a computer, GLaDOS style.

Cool I missed that. Will check it out, thanks.
I made it to

Well, that makes sense.

Also, can they access your cloud saves?

No and no.
From my experience.

No on the cloud saves. Kind of the point on it is that they are getting to play it as if they own it separately from you.
For the category question, do you want them to see your categories? If so, Depressurizer might give you a way to share those.

How much of a bubble do Valve developers live in?
