There are no unconditional 50% ATK with swords. They're all 30-35% + light/heavy armour. Cedona comes the closest at 40% ATK with a Sword. This is mildly irritating.
Swords still have it better than a lot of other weapons. Hammers and Axe's for example haha.
The only dagger TMR is 40%, so it might as well not exist now.

Thanks! But I found a rando GLS with like 900 mag and got it. Took forever but a win's a win. I'll probably try Marlboro tomorrow night, so if you (or anyone) have a Barb with plant killer it would be a huge help. I'm sure I'll screw it up a couple (dozen) times before I get it.

It's honestly a bit frustrating that I spent 10K Lapis and some 50 tickets trying to get Nalu and got fuck and all (not even an offbanner rainbow), while I spend a daily and five tickets on a lark and run into two rainbows. But hey, soon as I finish building up another moogle, Onion Knight is getting that materia. Now I really do need to start trying to figure out Aigaion (first time I tried I got fucking annihilated) to get that Fist.

It's definitely not something you can casually roll into so make sure to read over the comments on the trial thread on reddit and suggest watching a vid or two to help wrap your head around when you have to use which ailment resists, when to seal wind, which parts to break when, when to prep imperils/nedian, yadda yadda.
Most people are using the necro dagger on either earth veritas, or on CG lid to seal fire/dark. Lid can DW a wind weapon to take care of that too if you use Lid. I had EV already set up from way back so used him. You need probably need to go through a quest line for the 50% wind resist shield. If you don't have the necro dagger you could probably try just sealing fire/wind, I think people have ignored dark and made it work.
You generally want either enhanced zarg as your buffer (includes stop/status resists) and everyone sleep immune (he doesn't cover it), or Nichol, but then everyone needs a ribbon/discernment/fina hat, etc. Wilhelm can use that 50% materia. I've heard people have used Chow as a buffer too since he can do stop/stats/LB. I chose to use Nichol to not spend the crysts/gil to enhance Zarg yet and I had the status resist gear, but enhanced zarg is like tailor made for this one.
I used:
Wilhelm - dodge phys cover tank/mag break/wind weapon.
EV - provoke tank, 150% wind res and otherwise as bulky as you need. I have his provoke enhanced to 3 turns but not sure if I needed it or not. I was leaving him stopped on occasion so possible I went more than 2 turns refreshing on occasion but don't think I did. People have used a pretty similar comp with Lid here instead, and Wilhelm both provoking and covering.
Nichol - buffs/mana/charm resist.
Fina - fina stuff, but I had her equipped with the single target dispel rod. This way if I didn't want dispelga I could dispel what was important without wiping off breaks/imperils on things that didn't need it. Ayaka or maybe some 4* base healers could work, but I think Fina is a bit better in case you need her AE reraise on the 40 or 20 thresholds or her element resist buff if you aren't using Nichol and can't fit in Zargs (for water resist). I didn't use her LB/reraise and didn't have a problem.

Turn one I used Fina to mag break (from shiva) the middle part just to help make sure everyone survived turn 1 until I could get Wilhelms up.
I had Wilhelms LB/Nichol's water resist for the 40% threshold and I had already maxed EV's a long time ago and had his for the 20% threshold, but luckily I had killed it from like 30ish% and didn't have to take that one.
As an aside, Dyer did it with 2 7* Viktors and an Olive (important for the fire/lightning imperils) in 7 turns.

No idea. She came out in JP later than GL and doesn't have a 7* form yet.

I predict she will get Zoaero (Zo-spells are the next step up from -ja spells), maybe modifier boosts to Tornado, unlockable Triple/Quad-cast and her Trust Ability will unlock Triple/Quad-cast at the start of the battle. One cooldown will be support, one will be a chaining move, one will be a nuke with big Lightning/Thunder Imperil.
DKC spent half the battle literally asleep. Literally. He also guarded for 2 turns. All he really did was use his AoE LB finisher and his ST finisher. He was useless when he wasn't chain capping. His ST finisher has a 5 turn cooldown. His regular finisher hurts him.
To put his ability multipliers into perspective. His big, powerful cooldown ability has a multiplier of 13x. More against humans. His regular finisher does 7.5x damage. Single Wielding (because DW would kill him when he's using his regular finisher), he does 50.5x damage every 6 turns. Orlandeau's Divine Ruination does 6.8x damage single wielding and 13.6x dual wielding. Every turn. That's 81.6x every 6 turns. And he doesn't need a pair of chainers. And he has his cooldown finisher that does 30x damage dual wielding that I haven't even included in the calculations.
But TeaSpoon, you can put DW on DKC if you do this timing trick where he gets healed during his suicide attack. Nope. It's a hassle and wastes his DH passives. We have enough gear to stack his DH to max anyway. I'm pretty sure that's BiS.
But TeaSpoon, his cooldown finisher is AoE. Yes, but his regular finisher isn't. And Orlandeau also has an finisher AoE attack. If he uses it every turn, he gets 49.2x in 6 turns. That's slightly below DKC's damage output, except it's all AoE. And it gives him 6 AoE LB, which means he can use his 12x LB every fourth turn. Every third turn, probably, because he'd only need to get 2 LB crystals in 3 turns. That's easy.
And guess what, doing this rotation doesn't hurt him. It heals him 100% every third turn. It keeps up a 74% def break.
Not to mention, there are other finishers out there. Finishers that can do other stuff. I have them. I have a 7* Balthier ready. I have 7* Veritas of the Flame ready.
I took DKC to 7* because I wanted the eventual 7* mission rewards. He's going to stay unenhanced and unleveled.
[edit] DKC has a 100% imperil vs. Orlandeau's 50%, so those numbers above are slightly misleading.

Thinking about tackling 3* Diabolos, for the extra DK+ for Barb when Tiger Burning tries Marlboro. Which setup seems safer,
1) Ayaka for re-raise on mystea and stop removal.
2) Marie for reflect on Mystea so she doesn't die and can keep stop protection up.
Ayaka may be the better choice, just in case something goes horribly wrong.
Also, Ifrit 3* has Plant Killer+ for Malboro, unless you want the extra MAG from Diabolos.
Ifrit it is lol. What DPS units did people use for Diabolos? Marie was fine, it's just that 2x 7* TGCid's with over 1500 attack were doing around 8% health a turn. Now way to hit each threshold that way. Is magic the better way to go?

My issue is finding DPS units to get me to that 20% damage per turn number. Maybe T.Terra is the way to go. I'll mess around more next week. I just leveled Wilhelm to 120, so I'm down to 4 maxed Cactuars now. Dunes all day lol.
On the plus side, Wilhelm is insane now. 22.3K HP, 1302 Def, and 732 Spr. I'm pretty much capped on HP, I can swap out a PR for a mechanic heart or Spr booster as needed. This is also with Seed of Hope for 100% ST immunity. I could get up to 1400 Def with Ice Rosetta and another PR.
EDIT: playing with the builder, it's HP I'm maxed out of. Looks like with some combo of PR/TfS and Seed of Hope materia, he's maxed while leaving 1 Accessory slot open. Looking online, not a lot of good Def/Spr accessories. The best one I can find is Rico's Wingsuit. Good thing I kept that raid mats lol.
Tetra down. I fucked up at 40%. Forgot to provoke my sacrificial unit (CG Nichol) and got Wilhelm snorted. Spent a lot of turns raising and reraising my units. That actually wasn't that difficult. The real problem was that my friend unit wasn't petrify-immune, so I had to chip away at Tetra's health with my single Explorer Aileen until I got regular Aileen unpetrified. When that happened depended on whether CG Fina was free that turn.
Fun fact, Explorer Aileen and regular Aileen's chain breaks in the middle. It's because regular Aileen moves while Ex. Aileen stands still. So I had to deal with inconsistent and low damage.
Anyone still need to do Omega and need a 3xMachine Killer Orlandeau? If not I'm gonna be switching back to a different friend unit.
I might ask you to rebuild it when I set up an Aigaion team. I only have the one machine killer sword, so I imagine I'm going to need a lot of damage. But that's probably a bit away, I kinda am grinding this damned Hanging Edge thing for the moogles for the foreseeable future.
