In a group setting about the only change I would make is dropping fortify for minds eye, so that I could keep poking away even when he is covered in black spikes. The bounces arent so bad when solo but with the extra dmg he gets in a group setting, that would immediately put me in yikes territory.
that one run where did like 5 or 6 backhops and dives in a row
he read his sirlin he gonna stop spamming it when it stop working

The fact that I still need two more tickets before the event is over this week is going to haunt the hell out of me when I'm not playing. Oof.
Still so much better in a group though. I can get all the way to the final phase on my own but the stress level is through the roof and I think I might develop a tumor if I get him down to like 10% health again only to cart at the last minute.

my fairly relatively smooth runs are 30 minutes long
i could maybe trim the times down by being a little less conservative, not taking a breather between zones, and refining the rock drop but yowza that's a long fight either way
i just remembered the assassin's hood exists so i'm gonna see if i can maybe squeeze some more of the rock drops

dawn of the last day, so here's a strategy that might work if you're still struggling with nergi but good with LBG, using Rapid Normal 2 and sleep ammo (+shieldspire palico). If you don't have the LBG in the video, subbing in something like Karma or Styx should work.
I gotta check the amount of tickets I got from my one kill, but there are only one or two pieces I really wanted anyhow. Kinda a bummer that the flagship baddie got such a ho hum set.
That said when he comes back during summer festival I will give him another what for.

styx cant do rapid normal, the blaze one can though you don't get spare shot and but lose sleep
use styx for the two sleep pillar drops, then change weapons. I did try styx rapid fire thunder, but it definitely doesn't get the same damage normal 2 does
recently got back into the PC version of the game after KT burnout and finally beat behemoth in a PuG yesterday. The fight is so different when you actually have a dedicated person holding aggro. Also, I died to ecliptic meteor a couple of times thinking that i was safe behind a boulder which made me finally bind jump emote to my controls. Fun times!
Pretty sure you're going to need more than one run.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Tried the LBG strat, Nerg just ended up exposing my balls.
Think I'm going to go in with LBG, do the sleep boulder thing and then switch to hammer and slope em to death.
"the trick to AT nergigante is to be able to roll at a moment's notice, sheathe quickly to superman dive, and to avoid being animation locked if possible"
switch axe: *loud sweating*

So... SnS. Will always be best weapon defensively.

Will be on tonight.

actually proccing fortify might be a game changer
need to get a sleep bowgun to do the rock drops tho
there's so much shit that can go wrong tho, jesus
Theres no way to do this fight without encountering madness.
Be careful when gazing into the abyss, the abyss might backhop into you.

i ran out of potions in the last phase and it took so long that i got two temporals in it
i think i just took a few minutes off my lifespan
You need every bit of mega armorskin you can get against AT Nerg. Got Val's arch set fully upgraded with health decos and he still hits like a truck.
kind of okay here

Real hunters dodge. Not guard.

Build from the video
I do not like timed events
XBL:Phenyhelm - 3DS:Phenyhelm
Iceborne's a few months away anywho, plus the summer festival should be before it so Nergi will be back then at the latest.
that one's a pain tho
That said when he comes back during summer festival I will give him another what for.
Time to run this event until I drop dead.
fwiw, chest is the new meta for glutton builds and waist is a sidegrade for GS builds now (either zorah Y waist or that).
drachen is too damn good to give up
Will give it a shot. I forget who it was but there was somebody using that strategy two nights ago and they were doing some serious damage with it.

time to burnout on the next KT release!
Streaming 8PST on weeknights

he doesn't start out in slopetown, black spikes eat up a lot of your damage output, and getting in front of him to knock him on the noggin is uh
a little trickier now
that said, it's still not terrible and imagining myself attempting to use a switch axe on him is lol
