    Probably. Armor down/ waste/health burn likely maybe caustic prevents healing or something

    There's a def lock ability that prevents armor down, but I honestly don't know of any monsters that debuff armor. I'd guess acidic does that.

    Also man AT Nerf is a shit. I've only managed to off him once, depsite a LOT of tilting at him. So aggressive.

    In world one of the small monsters, Jho, and Behemoth can do it to you.

    It can wreck your shit but it's so easy to clear with consumables that it is silly to use an armor skill for it

    You'd think that, and yet I remember bringing armor horns for what's his name (in 4U/X) because people wouldn't.

    To be honest though it's usually the short version and people freak out way too much about it.

    Just back off the attack until it clears.

    I can see something like vaal and his effluvial spray where is a constant threat rather than a single move that does it

    With all the hype even though I probably won't get Iceborn until December when it's likely to come out on PC, I've been getting back in. I never did any of the dragons besides Kirin and I haven't done some of the variants like Black Diablos. I just got Deviljho though!

    And a pretty cool endcap (even though jho isn't in it)

    Appreciation Fest are for the 1 Year Anniversary event from the beginning of the year. They'll get you layered Gala armor, which is super awesome. The actual Gala armor is some of the best non gamma armor/Drachen stuff as well if you want a decent armor set to take going into Iceborne. Gold Wyverian prints are for gems and rare monster parts at the elder melder. Heavy Armor Spheres are worth 200 armor upgrade points each.

    Holy smokes... took on AT Nergigante and... cheesed it?

    Poked it to death with lance, using fortitude gem, and played as defensively as possible. Shielding Palico saved my bacon more than once, making it the one time I used that tool seriously.

    This is my general "Nothing can kill me." build. Replace the expert gems with defense gems for AT Nerg, misasma for Vaal, and fire resist for Teo/Luna. Although, for regular tempered Nerg, this build can down him in less than five minutes.

    so you don't actually need guard up for AT nerg, i don't think anything he does is unblockable. I would swap that for the ironside charm which then frees up some slots. spead sheath or the sharpening one could work

    The handicraft gem is actually a holdover from when I had the Jho lance, the Styx Lance has a huge white bar, even when doing that oh so satisfying chase attack.

    I find the lance makes that diablos arena fight pretty easy. I still die to it tonnes though.

    I got lucky and found a session running just arena fights. Those fights are all geared for 2 players, having another person there was the only way I had the patience to get through them all.
