Also, Y1 vs Y2 exotic Armor, I finally got an Armamentarium about a week ago when Xur sold the Prometheus Lens. Is that considered Y1 because it was from an expansion?
Y1 Exotic armor is the version you can pull from the Collection. It has armor perks, but they're static, and it's only one per column (besides the standard stat choice)
Y2 Exotic armor has multiple armor perk choices per column, and they're randomized

Primary exotics are pretty meh. Some of the energy exotics are pretty solid, otherwise Whisper or Sleeper are what most folks are using these days.
I've been using Crimson in PvE since Santa Xur brought it. Pretty dang good, especially if you can land crit shots consistently and thus eliminate the need to reload!
Found it underwhelming in PvP, though. Just doesn't hit hard enough (maybe I'm not close enough?). In PvP, I'm all about that Vigilance Wing.
To be clear, you are using the Y1 Vig Wing?

Y1/Y2 Vigilance Wing are identical. Same with Prometheus Lens. Exotic armors that existed prior to Forsaken can be acquired post-Forsaken with different perks so they sort of have Y2 versions but the guns are the same.
My Armamentarium was out of a Fated engram, from Xur, this month. It has one line of perks. Is that considered a Y1 or in theory can it drop again with another set of perks in a single line?
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

If it's only got one set of perks per column then it's identical to the one you can pull from the collection.
If it drops in the wild it will look like a normal Y2 piece of armour, perks-wise and they can roll different.

Unless I'm running into some kind of bug, 580 might be the start of another soft cap. All my Dreaming City weeklies are done so I can’t check those, but all my raid rewards are now +1 power drops. And speaking of raid rewards, I got the one I wanted most.
Raid's considered a 580 event, right? If so, that'd make sense since their new system is big bumps for "underpowered" characters. Did even the first encounter only give a +1?
I wonder if it checks the vault and you, or the vault, you, and other classes gear? I.e., if you're at 581, could you move some weapons around to get to 579 to get a +5?
Never mind, I’m back to getting powerful drops again. So, I don’t know what was up with my previous ones.
Made it through the fourth part of the raid. And finally got some good loot
Fully masterworked curated rolls of the raid handcannon, and the raid solar bow.
After getting the worst luck with exotics and a completely demoralising weekend of comp, this has me excited again
Are the legends true? Hath Fatebringer returned to us?
Well I never used the original. But I can say this is my new baby, and will only be replaced if I ever manage to earn Luna’s Howl. Which at this point is unlikely

It probably has something to do with that trio having gone flawless together in Trials, multiple times.

Well.
It is possible to solo Silent Fang's bounty at 515.
I would not recommend it, per se, but he did drop me a 519 Right Side of Wrong with Moving Target, Full Auto Trigger System, Masterwork: Range, Accurize Rounds (more range), and Dusk Scope D2 (MORE RANGE). So that's neat.
Does banking 15 motes at all four stations simultaneously just insta-summon the Primeval? It should but I think it's 72 motes, isn't it?
Unrelated edit: is there a way to reset your raid instance? I went in and got a (pretty shitty rolls) robe from a wish dragon but then wanted to go back and wish for the emblem and couldn't find a way. I managed to jump all the way back to (I assume) the door from the first encounter but, being as my checkpoint was previously in the first encounter said door was not open.

There's no fancy shield this time, right?

There is, but you break it by lobbing bombs at him. You can take cover in the entrance tunnel most of the time and just run in for the bombs.

I had to break the generators (First health chunk) that spawned randomly in his area, then break the Servitor (second and third health chunk) that spawned twice and was protecting him.
Why couldn't they have taken the shaders section of the collections thinger one step further and allowed you to bank all your dupes, and if you don't have any of a particular shader, buy it?

No, we just call out which side they spawned from fast.
There was some talk about the Destinations Seal (Wayfarer title) a few pages back, and I wanted to clarify something:
Destinations Red War, CoO+Warmind, and Forsaken only require complete sets on 1 class. I know this because I only have red war complete on my warlock, and I can check it off on the seal page. The collection badges are grayed out if no class has a full conpletion, filled in if one does, and filled in with a yellow/gold boarder if all 3 are done.
This means that the hardest/most tome consuming part is still all the prophecy weapons, EP armor/weapons, and the braytech launcher. Starting from scratch those will take you 5 weeks minimum due to EP key requirements.
The only reason no one has the seal right now is because the heroic adventures for the 4 original destinations only show up when that location is the flashpoint. Titan and Io are the two that haven’t happened yet, and you’re shit out of luck for getting it as soon as possible if you didn’t do the EDZ/Nessus ones already (like me, whoops!)
The crucible one seems to require 3 different seasons of glory legend rank, so that ones not possible until season 5. Gambit needs the exotic quest that hasn’t been released/found yet, and the dreaming city/raid ones both seem to require some timegated events to be finished. I assume this is also the case for the Lore seal as well.
So basically, Wayfarer is the “easiest” to finish right now, and will technically be possible to get exactly one week from tomorrow if Titan and Io are the next two flashpoints.
Why couldn't they have taken the shaders section of the collections thinger one step further and allowed you to bank all your dupes, and if you don't have any of a particular shader, buy it?
Um, you can do that second part? You can buy as many shaders as you want, with the currency they'd break down into?

Which is why the former part of that sentence would be the one step further.

My obsession with reloading almost got me killed here.
9 motes short of getting one of the secret triumphs here. (Deposit 100 motes, dont die and dont lose any.) I didnt really notice I deposited this many... That Arteen killed, probably.

The basic answer to any question about the current shader system is that they wanted to bring it back to an unlock-based system and one where you pay to apply the shader but they wanted to minimize the dev-time devoted to that change because resources are limited.
So rather then doing any actual drastic changes to the code of the shader system or it's backend functionality, they just added shaders onto the already-being-developed collection system and literally left everything else exactly as is. Which gets you to the same place for way less effort but leaves a few funny quirks to the whole affair.

Sometimes everything just comes together into a work of art:
Homing solar sword while invading is my favourite thing, since you can fire it over terrain to where the enemy is and it will happily arc and kill people.
I'm doing these 25 handcannon precision kills at a hilariously low effort pace... it seems dual wielding HCs and hoping for the best is probably not a valid strategy.

No, we just call out which side they spawned from fast.
But how do you locate them without dying? Like sometimes it feels like they spawned in right behind me.
Is there safe spots on maps you guys fall back to when the invader spawns in?
Anti invader is legit the hardest thing for me and I’m a pretty good PvP player.

If I'm near the base when we get invaded, I'll usually retreat into the entrenched position near the base spawn, go into overwatch and listen for callouts to where he is, usually you can also semi accurately guess where he spawned in at, if your teammates are on left side, odds are that he is spawning in at right side, less often in from middle.
I act differently depending on how many motes I carry, if I carry 0 I'll go on the offense directly and protect the teammates with many motes, if not I'll retreat into a more secure location and try to snipe him from a hard to hit spot.
One Invader tactic that is hard to anticipate which I've been using sometimes is, if you spawn in at a bad position, fall over the edge and "die", you wont die and will be teleported to another side of the map, totally taking the enemy team by surprise, when suddenly hitting them from the opposite side they first saw you at.
I havent seen invaders spawn near me at all really, but Arteen did get killed by a guy that basically seemed to be spawning on top of him earlier, probably only happens if your team is spread out to much.
Also for call outs do you guys use landmarks or what? The few times I’ve played with my buddy he says stuff like “the invaders in front of me!” And honestly I’d be better off if he said nothing because I never interpret that correctly (is he right in front, is he far away)
I dunno. Just im so terrible st this mode and it boggles my mind. Trying to get better but it feels hopeless

I can tell you as a frequent invader that I have never spawned in a matter that flanks the enemy. If they favor the right, you spawn on the left. If they favor the mid/rear, you spawn randomly ahead, or to the sides.... watch your team's position and you can figure out where they may be coming from.

I basically just fell off the edge of the map by chance once (near drill on Nessus) and wondered why the hell I spawned in from the opposite side of the map (inside the ruins) and the enemy team had their backs towards me and promptly all died.

No real death, just a relocation.
We mostly use left, right etc. but on certain maps like Nessus, we'll call it Ruins/Steps, Drill and Base and try to narrow it even further if possible.
One thing that completely does wonders for our match performance is "Go as full team" because seriously, a single random can fuck you up so bad, either by being AFK, camping the heavy and by using the invasion portal 24/7. (and not getting any kills)
Is there a secret to using Ace of Spades in Crucible? It seems great in PvE, but its rounds per minute feels too low and its recoil too high. Keep getting outshot by, well, just about everything.

It was something I did last week, it was on Nessus, I basically fell over the edge and into the stuff that will kill you when you are not invading, not a portal.
I think I did it on Tangled shore too, fell into the instakill ooze and was promptly put somewhere else instead of getting killed/sent back.
I switched to Nature of the Beast and banged out 6 precision kills in a match, then 4 more in another. So I guess 180 shot handcannons work better for me in PVP if I'm not just using scouts.
Is there another slug shotgun aside from Chaperone?

One thing you can do to fuck with the invaders is use the teleporters. They are on every map except the EDZ one. The invader can see your nameplate but they can't see exactly where you are and using teleporters to fuck with them can save your butt if you are carrying a big load of motes.
