I've played the first two or three missions of Forsaken, so I see why he would not be in Tower or Farm.
Him not being there because of a bug sounds like a spoiler about him returning later in the game.
Or did I simply butt in in the middle of a discussion?

I dislike him being gone, but I'd prolly hate it more if they brought him back after...

Don't worry, you're reading too much into it. Cayde is deadzo.

Xur at least has Y2 rolls on the exotics.

The Nezarec's Sin seems decent: bow targeting / hand cannon targeting / hands on (super energy on melee kills), shotgun reserves / heavy ammo finder. Compared to the version you can pull out of the collection, this one seems much better.

Yeah, I'm definitely grabbing it as it's a pretty distinct upgrade over the perk-less version.

But I'm still pretty peeved about how the whole exotic collection I have is pretty much for show only, and I need to reacquire any exotics I like for them to have perks.

When I've already acquired them. And they've dramatically reduced chances to even get exotics at all.

I'll just go ahead and say right now, when/if I finally get my first exotic engram, and it ends up being a Y1 item I'm going to be pissed as hell. Moreso if it is also one of the things Xur has sold this past two weeks.

How is Prometheus Lens these days? Is it worth picking up? I already have it in my collection, and the one Xur has is identical except for the light level, so I don't need it for any completionist reasons.

Preeeeety sure Drifter is a route back into the Dredgen Yor storyline, and the shadows of Yor and all that. And your player actions reinforcing that a bit.

At least one card I have (don't recall which) has what sounds like our boy Shin Malphur killing a Shadow of Yor who kills their own ghost with their kind of Thorn projectile. The Drifter lore cards are from "a Renegade" which is language that is tied with Malphur.

The Drifter seems to encourage being eeeeeevvvvviiiilllll (at least in some scale).

And most importantly, the Title for being a heavy Gambit player in Triumphs is fucking "Dredgen" which seems a bit on the nose. Anyway, Drifter is bad guy.

Last night, for no discernable reason, Devrim was offering the weekly flashpoint again. After doing it (it said powerful engram) it was just a 500 thing.

Today the Heroic Adventure if flashing again, I'm wondering if it'll be the same deal; just another 500 despite it saying powerful?

Could be that you triggered the "no powerful rewards from the same class" thing with the Flashpoint? Since you technically completed it twice with the same class? I figure the Daily Heroic Adventure milestone should still give you a legit powerful reward.

If you run two characters of the same class, you won't receive Powerful Rewards from the same sources when running them on your second character. Depending on how that's implemented, you could be running into it if you somehow managed to run the same milestone twice on the same character.

Before if you made two hunters the second one to claim a powerful reward would just get a normal reward. This was to stop people from leveling an alt, transferring all gear, doing the powerful rewards, deleting the alt and starting over to get multiple chances at powerful rewards a week.

The speculation that the invisible systems that they put into stop this will fuck up the more often than weekly powerful rewards is pretty hilarious and depressingly likely.

I think I've mentioned that like twice already since yesterday.

DEVRIMS FLASHPOINT SHIT IS BUGGED AND DROPS 500 GEAR. EDIT: Apparently if you picked up a FP before 50?

Bungie will probably fix it when they come around to it, so my guess is early 2019, really annoying since that would probably be the best option for me to get powerful engrams.

I got a 507 Titan mark from him. One of the bugs that seems confirmed according to reddit is that if you do the flashpoint before lvl 50 (when you unlock powerful engrams again) and then again after hitting 50 (because it will be “available” again) it won’t be powerful.

Oh, thats what I did. (By accident, because you didnt have to "claim" it like you usually do.)

My friend however didnt do this and also got 500 gear from him?

Great playtesting there as usual Bungie, dont be in too much of a rush to fix it, like say - if someone found out how to get free MW cores.

Biggest reason it annoys me is that I keep getting fucking duds from Powerful Engrams over and over again, I've taken more or less what I can find and I'm only like 506.

When I open a powerful engram and groan audibly, my friend goes "Helmet again, huh?"

Oh, definitely not that, I have one of each class and two of them haven't touched forsaken. I had just done the flashpoint on Tuesday but then it showed up again last night on the same character.

EDIT: And to be clear I did both flashpoints post 50. I don't know if the first one was powerful, I really don't recall, but it was noticeable that it was still 500 last night.

Losing a bunch of triangles to a stupid death does feel really bad. Especially on that goddamned hive map.

Though I have seen relativley few actually 'close' Gambit matches. Usually it seems to be pretty much a shut-out win or loss. I've only even had like two games go to 3 matches.

OK, so Destiny 2 is free for PS+ user, which allowed me to give it a try.
So in the beginning of the week it was relatively easy to upgrade my 2 exotics’s Light level.
The new expansion dropped, and suddenly I need Masterwork Cores or something for that.
My mate who just started has his light 50 coat, but his other gear is far better. Furthermore stuff like the Graviton Lance is stuck at 100 with him.

So how can a non-DLC Destiny 2 player get those cores? Is that something that Xur sells? I’ve looked around the tower and can’t find anyone who is selling them.

And have factions been abandoned? I walked to the faction peeps, and I can’t even talk to them? So I can’t get pretty FWC or New Monarchy stuff anymore?

I did receive a Masterwork Drang after completing the quest of finding Failsafe’s Captain, so that’s something...

Basically Carl they made it so that they want you to not infuse constantly anymore. At least having to think about it or choose what you want at max level. However it has put people without the xpack, that didn't play slot Or never saved up many cores behind the 8 ball. Effectively what most people are doing is just wearing whatever is highest and creeping their way up with the exception of a few stand out pieces of equipment and weapons.
    Wait... what?!

Bungie has made some stupid decisions in the past but this is one of the dumbest. So, basically what you're saying is that if a player didn't buy Forsaken, they are NEVER going to be able to infuse gear.

New players coming in to the game are going to get gear during the initial campaign that they outgrow and they have no way to upgrade it. Sure, their 'effective power level' will continue to increase as they get bigger and better rewards (and try not to use them because the stats are wrong for their build, or they like the perks on their current gear), but they're going to run into a difficulty problem at some point where they are -forced- to use higher PL gear just to advance the campaign missions.

That's got to be way up there on the list of ways to ruin a game: make it a horrible experience for new players!

I don't disagree that its a bad system largely because its prohibitively expensive, but Carl said he got a masterwork weapon? He would be able to breakdown that any others that he got for masterwork cores. He just can't buy them from Spider (buying gets more expensive for each one you buy anyway, so its still not a great source of them, just a slow reliable dribble). He can still infuse gear. Just that it would be unwise to do so until hes hit some sort of LL cap

I mean, its always been a thing to wear blues while leveling up since D1?
Except that the D2 campaign awards you with two exotics as you level up and the first one is given at 100. So the game is basically saying, "Here, have this really cool piece of gear that is amazeballs... but it will be completely underpowered and useless for you until you give us an extra $60 - and grind through 40 more levels of content before you unlock any reasonable way to upgrade it."

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but this kind of shit doesn't exactly make me want to buy the expansion. I mean, the whole idea behind making the Y1 content "free" is to make players want to upgrade right? This doesn't exactly encourage that.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

The daily challenges that award powerful rewards rotate on a 4-day cycle:
    - Strike
    - Gambit
    - Crucible
    - Heroic Adventure

Ninja Edit: It's also a little more complicated because they'll kind of stack up if you don't do them. For instance I've only done the Strike one and so still have the other three. Once it becomes their turn in the cycle again though, if I hadn't completed them, I will lose that.

EDIT 2: This reddit post explains it well

I think you are misunderstanding part of what I said. You can level stuff up to whatever your light max is without the xpack. It just takes masterwork cores now. You can buy some of these daily from The Spider if you need a few here or there. If you don't have the xpack you get them like you always have - dismantling gear that is Masterworked (or nowadays has masterwork levels on it).

If you solely relied on The Spider for cores you would do broke super quick. The issue for most people isn't going to be whether they have the xpack or not, it is whether they stocked any cores from dismantling to have a surplus.

Edit - But yes leaving behind the campaign exotics while leveling is probably advisable and would be the same thing people did when the game first game out if they were low on resources.

    CAREPOST INCOMING

I finished the campaign last night and I was shocked by how good it was. It's lame to say it but I feel like they actually finally delivered on the destiny that lives in our imagination

    Story- lore & intrigue
For I think the first time ever, they managed to embed the mystery that lore nerds find in the margins of destiny into the main campaign. 'What the hell is creating the scorn?' 'why does the baron call uldren daddy?' and 'fuck/marry/kill savathun/mara/riven?' are all actually important issues in the story that are discussed and hinted at but left leaving you wanting to explore the lore

    Story- pacing
For I think the first time ever, 90% of the campaign is not restarting machinery that will let you get to a piece of golden age tech that will tell you where the macguffin that lets you into the place where the bad thing might be happening.

Each mission is killing a guy you have a reason to want to kill. Most of the time you don't even get waylaid and have to press a button. A shocking revelation that you can structure a shooting game about wanting to shoot people rather than blowing cobwebs off devices

    Story- pathos
Uldren is a fucking fantastic antagonist. I don't know if I'm reading too much into things but it seems like he kinda suspected he was going mad/getting played. The facial animation was excellent and the voice acting was very good. I really felt sorry for him at the end. Compare this to Gaul who had daddy issues with a fucking spheroid and his adoptive father. The Gaul cutscenes were very bad.

Also marakir pointed out to me that it was the vestian dynasty that killed Uldren. Subtlety! In Destiny~! How!?!?!

    Gameplay- variety
My biggest complaint with pre-endgame destiny has always been the lack of variety. FINALLY, every mission had at least one thing that was DIFFERENT than the other missions. That's all I ask Bungie.

Now I'm at the endgame. The intro to the Dreaming City was fantastic, Gambit is awesome, and the new (old) sandbox is extremely fun. I'm excited to explore the dreaming city and i am all the way bought in for SHOCKING REVELATIONS in the raid.

I love this stupid skinner box and Bungie's insistence on fucking everything up to test if we really love them

Game just bugged and gave Tini the emblem for completing all Tangled Shore Triumphs... Which is literally impossible, since flashpoint is a part.

I don't understand... Are you saying that you don't like that year one exotics can't be updated without y2 mats?

You know you can draw a new one from your collection that's a little lower light (probably not enough to matter) from your collection for glimmer, shards and some gunsmith parts.

I did it with Whisper to make a couple of the forsaken campaign bossed easy-mode.

How!?!?!

    Gameplay- variety

it's confirmed that Petra killed Uldren instead of your Guardian?

when petra gives you the vestian dynasty the text is "the gun that.... well...." or something like that. I played the final mission with marakir and that line made him suspicious so he went out of the spiders lair and fired the vestian dynasty. He was pretty sure that the gunshot effect from the end of the campaign was the sidearm and not the ace of spades. I couldn't tell you for sure

It's pretty ambiguous tho and I'm amazed the Bungie managed to restrain themselves from hitting us over the head with something.

Wait there’s a daily heroic adventure powerful reward? Has anyone compiled a list of powerful rewards?

The daily challenges that award powerful rewards rotate on a 4-day cycle:
    - Strike
    - Gambit
    - Crucible
    - Heroic Adventure

Ninja Edit: It's also a little more complicated because they'll kind of stack up if you don't do them. For instance I've only done the Strike one and so still have the other three. Once it becomes their turn in the cycle again though, if I hadn't completed them, I will lose that.

EDIT 2: This reddit post explains it well

Also, if you just go to the Director there's a little golden star next to any location where there's an activity which will yield you a Powerful Reward you haven't done yet.

I don't think that includes the ones you get from bounties (for example, the Blood Cleaver bounty this week from the Spider gives one) but I believe all Powerful Reward bounties are weekly so as long as you do a circle around the bounty-givers once a week you shouldn't miss any (though Petra's and Hawthorne's are pretty tought right now...).

I’m excited to raid guys. And I haven’t felt that way in a long time. TTK probablly. The pve is easily the best it’s ever been and the new load outs and skill branches accommodate that so good

I love getting my invis and Wall hacks and melee debuff via crouched headshots. Such a nice gameplay loop in halo d pve encounters

I haven't done any Destiny raids and I'm sad about it

I'm in a clan with a few buddies and we could get 4 or 5 but never 6

I'm also sad to have missed Crota and Oryx back in 1 :(

This sounds like kind of a lame party but to each their own
