I mean, the trailer literally ends with Carol denouncing the Kree's war, so they're probably gonna be assholes.

the line "I'm not going to fight your war, i'm going to end it" isn't a denunciation? I mean, it could be I guess given some sort of context, but in the trailer it's sold as a bad ass i'ma kill some skrulls line.

I agree that the kree will probably end up sucking or at least be in some way morally compromised, I just didn't really see much of that in the trailer.

Carol's is 100% from the comics though?

Like thats how her costume works

Sure! I was specifically thinking of Spider-Man. There's something really fundamental to me about the idea of him pulling on a mask that was lost with the Iron Spidey suit in Infinity War. I liked Black Panther's helmet too, but everything is nano-particles now.

Iron Spider is kind of a special case because it's literally an Iron Man suit made for Spider-Man. He'll likely get his normal suit back.

Black Panther.. eh, I got nothing for you. Except I guess it makes sense Wakanda can match Stark's level of technology.

I completely get the reasoning and practicality behind making all the masks instantly hop on. It gets the characters to the point more quickly without slowing down the pace, and most people don't care. I just really like costumes that feel solid, and all the nano particle stuff feels like it would be flimsy to me, even if it is demonstrated that it is not. Like, if they make Cap's new shield out of nano-particles, I will be super bummed out. That stuff gets stuck in my head and takes me out of the moment.

I don't see how "I'm not going to fight your war" can be seen as anything BUT a denouncement. The line is meaningless if she's saying "I'm not going to fight your war, I'm just going to participate in a way that is completely in line with your expectations of me as a soldier, until such time as the war is ended. Sir!"

It is exactly the kind of line you put front and centre of your indoctrination package though.

    My guess for the plot:

Something happens to Carol that makes her one of the most powerful beings in the universe.

The Kree realize this and capture/brainwash her so they can use this power.

They try to control her by undermining her confidence and downplaying her power.

Carol realizes this, breaks free, and kicks their ass.

They have already made the Kree suck quite a bit what with Guardians of the Galaxy and you can see Ronan’s big dome in the trailer.

The Skrull are def going to get obliterated during the movie, explaining why no one has referenced them at all in any other movies.

My guess is after Carol switches teams (or at least sympathizes with some Skrulls), she agrees to keep some secret and let them blend into other races.

And in A4 she's gonna round up her Skrull crew.

If they were smart (and could find a place to show this without it feeling out of place) they'd use the rise of the Skrulls to explain how Xandar managed to finally get the Kree into a peace treaty.

I'm sorry man, I didn't mean to sound harsh there

What I should have said was that it's a very minor plot point brought up early in a movie from several years ago, when the MCU had not presented (and still hasn't) a clear picture of the Xandar/Kree/Skrull relationship, and which hasn't come up since
So while they might be able to work it in, I doubt it's much of a priority to answer a question few people were likely to be asking

It's the central issue that made Ronan and the "Who?" dude split with the Kree to join Thanos. If just as a personal character beat, I imagine that it will get addressed in some fashion in the movie.

Maybe it's an Imperial thing, where there's Kree (Species) and "a citizen of the Kree empire" (may be a non-Kree vassal species)

For some reason I just wasn't feeling the new trailer. I'm going to see it in theaters and I'm sure I'll enjoy it then, I just have no idea why I had no strong feelings one way or another for it.

Then that recut trailer dropped and I'm totally on board. I think I've finally reached the saturation point of generic trailer music that I just need something more to get anything out of it.
