Woo, Level 22 so that means third rupie mine unlocked. I'm a little short on talons though, hope Jeanne gives me some after reset when I can gift again. Apparently if you get a dragon to Bond 25 they give you a Sunlight Shard, which if you trade in 10 you get a Sunlight Stone to unbind any dragon once. This is also why you should always keep at least one copy of each dragon, even the 3* trash.

There was some discussion on Reddit about 3* vs 4* at various tiers.

Basically, working on a 3* t3 weapon might be good for a couple characters, or not, it’s more preference on which way you want to go. Mostly changes what you need to farm.

Made a Water spear, and at level 20 it was stronger than a t2 level 40 weapon on a Water character (Not as strong on other characters due to the lack of elemental bonus, but still)

Seems like kind of a no brainer to me

So you know that awesome beginner ticket package?

    Well I bought it.

I figured hey, sure I have 2 of the 10 5 stars but I got decent odds to add to my overall team poNOPE DUPE MIKOTO.

Yeah, the bonus stats for matching element are significant.

I tried rerolling for a while but could never get any satisfying mix. Instead of worrying about that, I went with my original Jeanne/Nidhogg roll and started playing normally. Doing co-op at low levels while the wings recover so quickly is a great way to back into 10-pulls. That has gotten me Hawk and Ezelith (and Nidhogg #2 plus the 5* print) so far, so I can't really complain.

Thus, the others all die before tuxkamen dies to the vote. Hence, tuxkamen survives, village victory.

Hoping I can eventually get a Nidhogg for my Nefaria

Seems like passives still work during dragon form, so I figure she'll do bonus damage vs the blinded enemies as Nidhogg

Juggernaut is a 4* gacha dragon and grants +30% Attack to Shadow, so that's a good option if you can swing one.

    I've got that one, yeah

Nidhogg would just be rad for the Blind attack (Also I'd really like the extra HP with Nefaria, she's squishy)

according to the rate tables in the game, the rate-up 5 star items are literally 50% of all 5 star drops for their categories (IE any 5 star character you pull has a 50% chance to be fire dagger lady, any 5 star dragon a 50% chance to be Jeanne, and any 5 star wyrmprint has a 50% chance to be one of the 2 or 3 5 star wyrmprints on the banner), with the other 50% divided between all the non-rate up items. No wonder I've seen so many fire dagger ladies and Jeannes.

    BahamutZERO.gif
  • MaddocMaddoc I'm Bobbin Threadbare, are you my mother? Registered User regular
That will likely change as the character pool gets bigger and more characters/dragons are on rate up on any given banner, but yeah it's pretty heavily weighted toward them right now

Mercury and Brunhilde now fully uncapped

I should go after Midgarsormr next since I have no really good Wind dragons, but I'm having fun using Nefaria so that might be reason enough to make Jupiter next up

I wish the blind proc for Nefaria was a bit more noticable. I really enjoy using her. Very easy to run as a semi support in the waves of idiot Ezeliths who dont dodge telegraphs or fight adds.

Also man Archer Focus Attacks are an asspain to aim

Holy crap, Game Changer for Katana characters that I didn't know about

If you stop attacking after they do their backhop, they charge for a second with the katana in the sheath, then the next attack is this super long range dash attack

It's not a blind proc on her regular attacks, she has to use her second skill to "load" blind arrows into her focus strike

Ok, but that skill says "blindness without fail" which tells me 100% chance to blind. What purpose then does her "Full HP = Blindness +50%" Passive that she gets well before her second skill serve?

Yeah, it's fun. And the combat actually ramps up and gets a bit interesting, with having to properly time counters, read telegraphed attacks, etc. I'm shocked at how good the combat is considering how simple it is, actually.

It's also very grindy. There's a lot of things to grind. Grind your characters, grind your weapons, grind your skills, grind your dragons, grind your wyrmprints, grind your castle... For the time being this is mostly mitigated by Beginning Bonuses but I am curious to see how much it slows down after that.

The daily quests still give pretty good bonuses after the first clear for some of them. Rupies and orbs are very farmable. Crystals for adventurers somewhat less. Trials are fairly farmable for tokens but fruit is somewhat slow no matter what.

Whetstones are eventually quite farmable (have to clear Ch 6 to unlock the maps for them).

In terms of grinding for upgrades, the worst is mana. Nothing gives large chunks reliably. Wyrmprints are bad but barely improve by leveling.

huh that's weird, I got a nefaria this 10 pull but the sky rune before stuff dropped didn't turn rainbowy to indicate a 5 star thing was dropping, it stayed at the 4 star color

Isn't that just their force break? But yeah the dash in in really good, especially against stuff like Mercury purple aoe to gap close quickly.

I've been upgrading Musashi because I need a wind character and he's stupid fun.

After doing SO MANY rerolls I finally got a keeper. Agni, Poseidon, and Nidhogg

So things I’ve picked up on during 10-pulls

You will get a 5-star if:
-2gold dragons appear next to the fountain at the start
    - the gem in the statue is rainbow colored
    - A flock of birds flies past (not just 1 bird)

The final orb has a small chance of upgrading to a 5 star randomly. This can happen even if you don’t get a rainbow orb in the sky.

I dunno if anyone would know this yet but does promoting a unit increase the potency of their co-abilities and their mana circle upgrades too?

No, unfortunately. One way that 5*s are strongest. They can upgrade their co-abilities on the final mana circle though, so even 3* abilities become more respectable.

yeah but 5 stars can ALSO upgrade their coabilities on the final circle and their upgrades are 3x as strong as a 3 star's mana circle upgrades
so that's a shame, there are some 3 stars I really like but even if promoted they'll never be quite on the level of 5 stars

Yeah, they just have weaker max values. There is the trade off of resources it takes to level them, though.

"Without fail" is extremely poorly worded, enemies can still resist, it will just always attempt to apply it I think?

It's also why Ezelith has a skill to increase the chance of applying debuffs

Also, for a gacha game, the presentation is really slick. The menus aren't as cumbersome as other games like it, everything moves fast, animations of even the menus are great... It looks nice, and as a result it feels nice.

Also, re:co-abilities, don't even get it into your head that upgrading them is a thing you're going to do for more than maybe like your absolute favorite character

It takes a truly ridiculous amount of eldwater (starts at 6k, increases with each one)

I'm now 12 hours away from Halidom level 4 so I can start working on 4* weapons. Good timing on the water ruin today, I needed the orbs.

    Elemental orbs are my bottleneck.

Been playing pretty casually past week but cleared Chapter 3 and got some work done today. Great tips throughout the thread.

I stuck with a roll that got me Julietta (Main), Jeanne D’Arc, and Ezelith. Another roll got me more dudes/dragons in a mix of 3-4*. I’ve got enough for 3 pulls on the next banner, so hoping to get some better cards.

Is there a way to unbind wyrmprints without having a duplicate? The wording in the game suggests "unbinding items" but I don't know if that's a translation mixup. I'm wondering if unbinding my 5* wyrmprint (my only 5*) is a laughably distant pipedream.

I have the first world problem of deciding between 3 copies of a 5* wyrmprint or unbinding it twice.

And then the same decision for two Jean D'arcs.
