So I've been told that using stones to UB non-limited Dragons is a silly thing and should be avoided. So who do I use them on. I currently have 5 stones and the following limited dragons
D!Jeanne 2/5, H!Marti 1/5.
Both of those are water while I sit with a MUB Leviathan. Are either of them worth my time and Dragon Stones.
I decided to give this a try again, and boy howdy are a bunch of free draws a good way to get me interested in your game.
Also, what are these letters for?

Anyway, managed to pug a standard HMS finally, so now I have access to the new thing. Beat the Manticore on expert once, with the first time clear giving me enough stuff to craft one 5* volcanic weapon, then I grinded standard enough times to get a 4* weapon for my whole fire team.
Then proceeded to get absolutely annihilated by the new event. So that was fun, good new content :?

It's honestly a tough call, for two reasons:
1. Nobody knows how good the new units are going to be.
2. The banner that's running right now is a special "prize banner" -- for each unit you summon, you get a random bonus prize. Some of these prizes are absurdly good. In particular, you can win a lot of sunlight ore and sunlight stones, which are otherwise pretty hard to come by. (With that said, the actual featured units on the banner probably aren't great for a newbie; they just got huge buffs, but you'd need to invest a lot of resources into them before they become worth using.)
I think I'd probably suggest saving most of your wyrmite for the next banner, because right now you probably just need good units more than anything else, and there should be a bunch of good units on the next banner.

The Volk fight is extremely well tuned on standard. I did a fair amount of expert attempts before people realized t2 hdt was necessary to complete it, and it is... Extreme. Good, but extreme. Much better than hdt pacing.
okay so, there's some context for this:
the new content specifically fills a gap for players who have finished grinding out all of the facilities and augments for their character,
but still have a hard time getting into the expert high dragon trial cycle.
the eHDTs are WAY, WAY overtuned for where the general population's gear/skill levels were.
Agito (standard) is also way easier than those are, both because the playerbase is better geared and because it's more forgiving mechanically.
it is permanently available endgame content, you don't need to rush into it. focus on events / gearing your adventurers for now.

if you want to play the game long-term, HARD YES. everything that's not limited will come your way eventually.
this is a limited banner, and they tend to go hard on new year's units as well.
ieyasu, last year's new year adventurer, was best in his element for seven months, and so was the dragon.
he was also so good people ran him off-element for extra dps.
for contrast, the prize banner has cool stuff but none of it is limited.
the best thing you can roll on the prize banner is the sunlight stone (literally better and rarer than the adventurers),
which is probably less useful and less likely than getting the limited dragon on the new banner.
it's a new year's raffle! you get one prize draw per letter, top prizes are at 0.02% (1 in 5,000) but are absurdly luxurious.
it's cheesy, but whatever, it's a cultural thing. free stuff is free stuff, not gonna lie.
if you get ten letters, you're guaranteed at least 5 summon tickets, if i'm reading the rewards chart right.

Quick sanity check for HMS then.. I read a guide and it says when he does the targeting attack, you're supposed to group up so it splits damage and the person doesn't get one-shotted. But so far, I don't see anyone doing that.. is that not right, should I be dodging the attack and not grouping up?
It's sort of a two-phase thing. For the first one, you're supposed to group up. Immediately afterward he uses a second attack targeted on the same person, but that one should be avoided.
It is entirely possible that pugs aren't grouping up for the first one because they don't know the fight.
I figured Void Agni on double drops would be a good place to farm the new fire orbs, but apparently I was quite mistaken. Haven't seen even a single drop yet. Guess it's back to the campaign?
The new Volcanic Chimera Void Battle drops the orbs on Expert. I'm able to semi-auto it with my water team and I'm working on unlocking 70 nodes on Xania.

So bit of back story. Going to spoil it because of animals dying. But good stuff at the end.
My wife and I had to put our cat down a couple months ago, and another one is sick and is likely going to be put to sleep soon. We had the opportunity about three weeks ago to adopt a kitten who was on its way to a shelter, and he's been a joy. He's been mostly gentle with all the animals in the house, inquisitive, and importantly for the wife, very snuggly. We named him Lowen because, in her words, "he's adorable and we must protecc."
So with that in mind, I had a piece of artwork commissioned for her for Christmas.
prize showcase is stronger than i thought since it gave me three sunlight stones! (mostly in sunlight ores.)
i'm so hyped that ieyasu is getting the mana spiral, it's insane that my swordy boi is getting buffed.
it's not even bad if he's mad OP because he's not even gleo, so who cares!

Ugg, I've been trying all week to get some HBH kills but pugs just suuuuuuuucccckkkkkk. I have gotten one in the past but can't seem to find a pug that doesn't suck.
I honestly don't know what to do. I really want High Zodiark now too because of the stupid 6th mana circles requiring those dragon stones, but I hear that fight is stupid hard. BLEH. I have Botan at level friggin' 95 and I can't go beyond that. And now Ieyasu is coming and he's gonna be freaking nuts too...
Also I can't do Agito. I haven't tried co-op yet but I don't think I understand the mechanics at all and would feel bad subjecting pugs to that Every time I try solo my dudes just die almost immediately
i feel kind of like my eHDT/standard Agito grinding is doomed right now because master HMS is up,
and all the good players / tryhards who can attempt it are always in it while it's up.
i would go for eHMC but mHMC is also up :rotate:
my advice is just go in pugs and die for a while. you gotta learn the fight somehow.
my other advice is go ranged if you can because Volk is a right bastard to melee.
edit: most of the mechanics for Volk's Wrath are:
-plague status effect removes all your status resistances. healing removes it.
-his drill whirrs and cape streams in the opposite direction from where he's gonna charge
-the big purple attack is awful and the second hit / return thing centers on the location he's dashing to usually (???) sometimes (???)
-when he does Retribution or whatever it shrinks the stage and wolves dash in at set intervals. keep dodging or iframing if you get targeted by it.
-when he does underdog's scheme the glowing (+) things inflict a status effect when you touch them. if you resist it they charge your skills.
if you don't touch the glowing (+) things, they make a big aoe later, so someone has to dive into at least two adjacent to make a safe place to stand.
i think green sleeps and red stuns, but idk for sure because i play sarisse lol
be careful diving into the (+) if you have plague because you'll just take the status.

Ah that is good to know. I did invest into getting a lot of Xania's 6th mana circle unlocked so maybe that's a good character to use. Or I could just bring Sarisse... honestly I should probably just try it, maybe it's not as bad as I'm thinking :P (or at least as it is solo.. I still don't know how I die instantly other than maybe computer sucks...)
I should probably finish Xania's weapon though. I made her one of those new Chimera ones that are supposed to rival the HDT weapons and such, but I could only afford to make one so it has no unbinds. Ironically the biggest roadblock just being stupid gold right now.

If you are low on gold, Cleo's money stage ends today and is a lot more efficient than doing AtF.
For Volk's purple, it helps to consider the geometry. The knives spin out radially, so if you get between them, you should be able to dodge the first set. For the second set, only the three that are left will fly across the stage, so you can reposition accordingly.
During Resentment, the same person is targeted every time. If they start dodging around, everyone else has to as well. If that's you, it's better to either iframe every attack or roll out and back to the same spot if you can't. That keeps the other DPS happy.

It's only up for a few more hours but I noticed the last level in the cleaning sweep event drops pretty good gold. Like if you have four maxed out gold fafnirs then it's 200k for 10 stamina. I just set the auto repeat to 99 and set the phone down while at work today and came back to many millions.

Oooooo, I will get on that then. I've been doing the stupid orb one because the last one didn't seem as good reward-wise, but I never looked at the gold drops.
(edit: Also uh... I think I underestimated how many honey jars I'm buying for wyrmite every day... I somehow have 185 of the big ones now.. LOL... not that I'm complaining, I need that freaking honey)

I know we've got a mix of players who are doing the high dragon trials and some who haven't even started. Who would be interested in setting up some fixed times for alliance trials? At least then, when we wipe, we can try again and hopefully learn from our mistakes.

Side note - I totally never noticed they made chimera bane weapons :P I went and crafted the lance for elly. Figure this will make autobattling a little more consistent (I can totally autobattle it fine but every so often the cpu does a dumb and dies... I long for the day the CPU stops standing in the fucking fire the same way it avoids danger zones)

i did the free ten draw, 15 singles tickets, 4 ten pulls, and a platinum showcase (dragons).
got mitsuhide, nobunaga, chitose, and also beautician zardin (!)
also an ieyasu dupe and my sixth marishiten, plus a long long unbind (womp).
i now have every blade character in the game! finally!
not sure whether to chase daikokuten or not. i still have almost 300 pulls, so maybe after i get the free ten-pulls.
The free ten draw got me the new 4* light unit (meh).
But just under 30 tickets netted my first Ieyasu, Marishiten, and the new 5* light dagger person.
Now I have like over 15k wyrmite and like five 10-pull tickets that I saved for New Years and I got the two main things I wanted (go team shadow woo)...
Debating whether the new light dragon or more Marishiten dupes are worth chasing or just bow out and save for the next Gala.
Many pulls so far. Several Marishitens, the new dragon, the new dagger unit, and Jiang Ziya for some reason. Still no Ieyasu. Grrrr...
(Speaking of which: kind of annoyed that Botan has already been powercrept, after a bunch of people dumped tons of resources into her. Yeah, in a vacuum she's still good, but Ieyasu is just flat-out better, and you don't want to run the two of them together.)
I did about 30 single pulls to boost pity rates, and somewhere around 12 ten pulls. I got Ieyasu on my first 10-pull, and have had 4 Ieyasu dupes. Pulled a single Marishiten and a single Daikokuten. Depending on how the free ten pulls go, I’ll probably MUB Marishiten using stones. Not holding out hope on the other limited 5 stars.
Alright did another 10 tickets to boost rates then two 10 pulls. First 10 pull was a dud but the second was a double rainbow; Marishiten dupe and the new dragon.
More than happy to just sit with that and see if anything else comes from the freebies and then max out those dragons with sun stones at some point.

Used my 2 10 tickets, and 10 wyrmite 10 pulls. Got a dupe Marishten, Ieyasu, the new fire lady. Should I use the dupe dragon for unbinding, or keep it to assign to another character?

So, I've been confused on what dragon's are best to use for which characters. I've seen Shinobi and the other skill boosting dragons viewed as high value pulls, but the strength you have to give up seems like a lot. For example, is Shinobi really that much better than say Cthonius? Or does it really depend on the character?
