I was able to get the Count on try 2. I used Wilhelm with Yellow balloon and Moogle Plushie to get the charm. CG Nichol, Ayaka, Rem, Hyoh (thunder + Odin), and friend Hyoh (thunder + Diablos but had 2000 atk).
Turn 1: Wilhelm took the charm, Rem filled esper gauge, Ayaka summoned Lakshmi, the rest defended (really important as his normal attacks hit hard).
Turn 2: CG Nichol and Ayaka did MP refresh and I was able to chain Hyoh's to OTKO it. Was close, with a Hyoh on Odin, probably would have had more headroom.

Lots of times if I want someone like Eiko/Garnet over Fina, a second chainer instead of a friend unit, this support over that support, they just get half assed gear and are still fine. Or sometimes naked if you just want a rem/ace/queen for esper gauge, breaker, etc.
Does anyone know where I can see the rewards/how many coins I have earned from this raid? Normally there's a tab inside the raid window. For the life of me I cannot find it.
It'll show up in the usual spot eventually. Something about how they do raids, the rewards button doesn't appear until sometime between late afternoon on the first day and tomorrow.

haha no worries, I still got him. I've setup mine the same way, removing discernment. It should be fine, if someone has a natural provoke tank or is actively provoking, his status ailment attack is ST.
If anyone still needs Hyoh setup for Odin, let me know and I can swap back after a couple days.

Yeah usually I click Optimize and waste NRG to try the fight and see how it works out.
Optimize is like 1 thousandth assing it instead of half assing it.

I still really wish they would limit favorites to like 5 but make it so you can re-use them over and over. Probably too much of a code change for GUMI to handle.

This challenge is 100 times harder during an MK event. Waiting until the Halloween event is over to try to grab the Demon Mail+ with a friend Malphasie.
Vengeance is sweet! I tried so many times to beat the Nightmare Halloween boss last year, but to no avail. It is nice to be able to finally finish it. It still took two tries, though, since I forgot about needing to drain his MP.
The Vampire fight wasn't too bad, although the toughest part is stabilizing at the start of the fight once all your MP is drained. If you can get back up to a good amount of MP, then it's rather manageable. It helped that I had a provoke tank (M. Ramza) and a magic tank (Lilith) that were both immune to charm. They are both still pulling their weight for me even still being at 6*. My one big mistake was not giving M. Ramza the Safety Bit, so he died to instant death attacks several times.

I don't think the safety bit/genji shield will protect against that death. I think it's tagged as unresistable death.
Got Odin. Failed the LB mission. That's fine. I could go back, take my time with it. Now that I've replaced CG Lid with CD Nichol, no one is in risk of dying (except for Basch, but I planned for that with reraise). It's amazing how essential every slot is. I kept CG Lid on my team for 5 attempts even though she was useless (because I didn't want to make the effort of changing her out). Replace her and I got Odin on my first try.
This really hammers in the worth of units capable of filling multiple roles. CG Lid can only do the one thing. CG Nichol did MP restore, some minor healing, buffs, and damage mitigation.
Now I really, really want 7* Wilhelm. By taking over cover, I could replace Basch with a better breaker. That would have allowed me to kill Odin when Hyoh used his LB.

I could replace basch with Lid but since its my breaker slot I don't think it matters all that much (lid's LB is not maxed out). I have cg nichol for his antics and Rem for esper / health top off, Wilhelm for tanking and then 2x hyohs though You really feel it when your friend hyoh isn't set up for odin.
Hopefully today I'll get him down but if not I'll probably skip him for a while and go do other things. I'd like to have him done but I can live with not seeing his 3* form for awhile.

Hard to say with scheduling. Technically we should see the 1st Xenogears collab in January (if we're going to get it). That banner has Fei and Elly, both top 10. We'll also be getting the Jecht and Auron shortly after, so probably Feb with the 2nd Xenogears banner that month with Citan (still ranked #2 on altema). It's not going to be till April or so that we'll see Akstar.
Now how will GL TDW updates play into the meta, we don't know. I'll say this, if you have 1 Hyoh and you have full TDH gear (2 Marshel Gloves, Buster Style, DCK's STMR, Nalu's TMR, exAileen's TMR, etc) then it's really worth it to grab another for the 7* version. You'll also want Tonitrus and Flaming Blade Agni for him as well.
I'm already back up to 5 UoC tickets. So I'll have another one by mid-January. Since all the pulls I want to do in the next 3 months are limited units (Randi, WKN, Xenogears), having one available now wouldn't do much for me.

I left lightning on him for the count since many folks still have him setup for Odin.
Another consideration for Hyoh is even in JP he doesn't have enhancements yet, and is still high ranked. Enhancements may boost him back into the top spot, especially if his Flame/Voltage Blade get enhanced to imbue him with those elements, which seems likely.
I never did the 5 man mission on Skeleton King last year, because that shit was really hard the first time around. Redid it for that mission and, wow, it was a stomp. 7* Wilhelm just laughs at SK's physical AoE, he took maybe a couple hundred damage each cast of it, it just bounced off of his majestic mustache. That felt as good as the time they reran The Crystal Tower event after we'd gotten 6* units and I mercilessly bitch slapped Xande to get him back for the hell he put me through the first time.
I tried the Count a couple of times without success. I just can't stabilize after the initial drain using Rem. I will probably have to use Ayaka so she can reraise and heal in the same turn. Rem does not get enough LB to use her 180 MP ability right away. Also, a couple of times, he used an AOE on the first turn that wiped out most of my party. I need to rethink my team gear to have higher SPR to soak the AOE magic attack turn 1.

I may switch my friend unit to Hyoh, in case others are also still doing Odin. I am setting up for lightning. I did okay with Maragi's Hyoh but stupidly realized I hadn't switched my Hyoh around to lightning for that particular fight. Was trying to reset friends to get Tiph's Hyoh because I think it was still lightning then, but just never got Tiph to appear before I got tired.
I would be so much further if we could save readouts on parties and do one hit swap gear to different settings. I'm sure you'd still have to play around with it ALOT with the way this game needs micromanaging on new content. But hell, it would at least help more with things like this (MK event, Raid event, new Esper bosses, etc).

If you have a lilith friend, she should counter on the preemptive and get mana back for a cover. Or malphasie might counter for an atk /mag break. I could put up either if you don't have any . With lilith I covered turn 1 then just defended, and natural regen was enough for ace to mp recover on turn 2. Rem could work but might be tough to get it turn 2.
Skeleton King went down like a punk, got the 5 man and Esper missions I was missing. The power creep (and access to good physical cover tanks) is real.

I don't have a single Hyoh. But in reality it's going to be a point where I have like 50 of these tickets that I never use "just in case", much like Megalixers in FF games.

My UoC ticket is likely going to be Cloud, but I'm not pulling the trigger until after Sephiroth's return since the 4th copy of him is also on the list.
Unless you really need a particular unit to clear a limited time mission, I would wait on using the UoC tickets until after New Years. If this November and December are anything like last year's, then there may be a lot of deals and freebies given out around black Friday and Christmas. You never know what you could randomly end up with during all of that.

I'll say this, if you have 1 Hyoh and you have full TDH gear (2 Marshel Gloves, Buster Style, DCK's STMR, Nalu's TMR, exAileen's TMR, etc) then it's really worth it to grab another for the 7* version. You'll also want Tonitrus and Flaming Blade Agni for him as well.
I'm already back up to 5 UoC tickets. So I'll have another one by mid-January. Since all the pulls I want to do in the next 3 months are limited units (Randi, WKN, Xenogears), having one available now wouldn't do much for me.
I don't have a single Hyoh. But in reality it's going to be a point where I have like 50 of these tickets that I never use "just in case", much like Megalixers in FF games.
I wouldn't use UoC for a 6* Hyoh; wait and see if one appears off-banner. Then you can 7* him; without his 7* form, he's alright but I wouldn't say he does more work than any of the old 7* DR chainers.

UoCing Wilhelm, you have to ask yourself if you plan on going for CG Sieghart. He'll be the story event CG unit for December, which is also when Christmas is going to hit. So he's only like 2 months away. If you don't want to gamble on pulling a 7* from Sieghart's banner or would rather save for Christmas, then Wilhelm is a great unit that will serve you now until at least the current point in the JP meta that's like a year away.

Yeah most Hyoh's in my friends list now have Tonitrus and Diablos. I'm like, I need Undead killer today! Not man-eater, that's so yesterday lol.
I was able to get the Count on try 2. I used Wilhelm with Yellow balloon and Moogle Plushie to get the charm. CG Nichol, Ayaka, Rem, Hyoh (thunder + Odin), and friend Hyoh (thunder + Diablos but had 2000 atk).
Turn 1: Wilhelm took the charm, Rem filled esper gauge, Ayaka summoned Lakshmi, the rest defended (really important as his normal attacks hit hard).
Turn 2: CG Nichol and Ayaka did MP refresh and I was able to chain Hyoh's to OTKO it. Was close, with a Hyoh on Odin, probably would have had more headroom.
They are not. However if you are looking for a VP unit, it gives you the best chance with the rate up on that specific unit.
Yeah it can suck sometimes but one thing that helps is, assuming you have a lot of good gear to pick from, that generally you really don't have to optimize every little thing to clear content. Lots of times if I want someone like Eiko/Garnet over Fina, a second chainer instead of a friend unit, this support over that support, they just get half assed gear and are still fine. Or sometimes naked if you just want a rem/ace/queen for esper gauge, breaker, etc.
It'll show up in the usual spot eventually. Something about how they do raids, the rewards button doesn't appear until sometime between late afternoon on the first day and tomorrow.
Yeah usually I click Optimize and waste NRG to try the fight and see how it works out.
If anyone still needs Hyoh setup for Odin, let me know and I can swap back after a couple days.
Optimize is like 1 thousandth assing it instead of half assing it.
Yeah like, I have two or three 40% att materia since those are all the rage now from other raids. But its a nice consolation prize for maybe when I go into the special weapon fights, eventually. I know the VP units are crap, but I would've loved having a Lenneth just for the nostalgia. Really tho, I kind of wanted a Lezard unit, but a battle will work too
The heavy blow will be SoM. I'm going to waste my 70% and my two 90% blue tickets on that. Plus some other tickets and maybe even Lapis. And that's knowing that, despite the best possible banners we all know we won't get, it would prolly still be a waste of resources to jump on a limited banner.
Odin fight is srs bsns. I got him down to 40 a couple times but I had to do suboptimal Hyoh combinations because of how the friends list works (couldn't get ppl with right elements to show up even tho a few of you had it set yesterday and I was alternating world missions). Will try again later today. The real challenge in this game is lining up all your gear and the friend unit to make new content manageable.

I still really wish they would limit favorites to like 5 but make it so you can re-use them over and over. Probably too much of a code change for GUMI to handle.
This challenge is 100 times harder during an MK event. Waiting until the Halloween event is over to try to grab the Demon Mail+ with a friend Malphasie.
The Vampire fight wasn't too bad, although the toughest part is stabilizing at the start of the fight once all your MP is drained. If you can get back up to a good amount of MP, then it's rather manageable. It helped that I had a provoke tank (M. Ramza) and a magic tank (Lilith) that were both immune to charm. They are both still pulling their weight for me even still being at 6*. My one big mistake was not giving M. Ramza the Safety Bit, so he died to instant death attacks several times.
I don't think the safety bit/genji shield will protect against that death. I think it's tagged as unresistable death.
This really hammers in the worth of units capable of filling multiple roles. CG Lid can only do the one thing. CG Nichol did MP restore, some minor healing, buffs, and damage mitigation.
Now I really, really want 7* Wilhelm. By taking over cover, I could replace Basch with a better breaker. That would have allowed me to kill Odin when Hyoh used his LB.
Swapping mine around too - what is the consensus? Lightning or fire?
Hopefully today I'll get him down but if not I'll probably skip him for a while and go do other things. I'd like to have him done but I can live with not seeing his 3* form for awhile.

Lezard should absolutely be battle. There are not a lot of more punchable people in the entirety of videogames than Lezard Valeth.
I may switch my friend unit to Hyoh, in case others are also still doing Odin. I am setting up for lightning. I did okay with Maragi's Hyoh but stupidly realized I hadn't switched my Hyoh around to lightning for that particular fight. Was trying to reset friends to get Tiph's Hyoh because I think it was still lightning then, but just never got Tiph to appear before I got tired.
I would be so much further if we could save readouts on parties and do one hit swap gear to different settings. I'm sure you'd still have to play around with it ALOT with the way this game needs micromanaging on new content. But hell, it would at least help more with things like this (MK event, Raid event, new Esper bosses, etc).

If you have a lilith friend, she should counter on the preemptive and get mana back for a cover. Or malphasie might counter for an atk /mag break. I could put up either if you don't have any . With lilith I covered turn 1 then just defended, and natural regen was enough for ace to mp recover on turn 2. Rem could work but might be tough to get it turn 2.
