The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I started 3 Body Problem last night and it's good so far but I keep trying to predict its course / expecting it to trip over SFF tropes.
Keep on guessing, you're in for a ride.
I stopped about 100 pages in after it pulled a couple weird story things on me so I'm totally down for the ride (and already was, but this helped). I knew the reputation of the book, but I think I as primed by being recommended by people who by their own admission don't read SFF and thinking it's the bestest thing ever. Me: Fry narrowing his eyes.
Nobody has given you shit about how you vote yet. Just wait.
I think you misunderstand me. My heart wanted to vote "unironically unironically" but my pragmatism knew that I had to choose Sephora as that was the only one that aligned close enough with my beliefs that neco is a hot mess that had a real shot at winning.
Horror movies that stick with me are Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist. Stuff like that, Paranormal Activity, queues my brain up to wake me up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat, even if the films maybe don't have a strong effect at the time of viewing.

I prolly won't see RPO. Not like as some protest. It just looks, not for me? Like it looks, to me and for me like the genre film equivalent of The Big Bang Theory.
Which if you like it, great. I really don't care. But there's tons of movies I DO want to see that I haven't seen yet.

The movie isn't bad. It's Spielberg, it's mediocre, it's certainly not a catastrophe even if it's not great or good.

ARCH STILL GOT IT
I think they adapt pretty well to whatever is most common easy prey.
so long as you're not using that as a cudgel against other people that doesn't make you a bad person
the same rationale applies for sportsball or whatever else people are passionate about
That one was juveniles trout

I'm actually really surprised by that. I would have expected mayflies to be more common prey.
