then again a monohull sailboat is nearly impossible to capsize without being half-sunk already
capsize here meaning going 90 degrees to the side
the more you heel, the more force from the keel - in modern sailboats it is both deep and has a big pile of lead on the end - pushes to right the boat, and the less force is on the sails to push it to heel. So it is very very hard to capsize a sailboat.
I dunno, turn 90 degrees to the wind and sit on the wrong side isn’t that hard. At least not the boats ive dealt with
we talking boats, or dinghies
I dunno, the little floating bathtubs you learn to sail in
dinghies
anything with a movable keel is a dinghy, I was taught, but most importantly, anything with a movable keel has a buoyant keel so the weight of it is not keeping you upright at all
a sailboat sailboat has a big-ass keel with lead ballast at the tip

why the keel is bouyant is obvious to anyone who has tried it just a couple times, because the probability of you having to swim to retrieve your keel because of course you forgot that tiny bit of rope approaches 1 very very fast

We differentiated between lead-ballast keels and buoyant keels by calling the latter daggerboards, as I vaguely recall
hmm. so of course you try to get medical services from in-network providers. but it's time for open enrollment and i just got notice that the PPO for which i usually elect has completely eliminated out of network coverage. so i get the same level of coverage in normal circumstances but if i'm traveling or have an emergency thing that leads to OoN service it's as though i don't have health insurance?
that sucks really bad, right? i wonder if it's a bad enough factor to switch to one of the hsa plans.

I just want you folks to have our kind of health insurance this all sounds terribly complicated

what's the network
like how much does that cover
a state, random providers all over, the country, or?

You should definitely be covered for emergencies while traveling with any non-insane insurance. Usually it has some caveat like "if admitted to urgent care/emergency room we cover it" nearby.
I got a call from the doctor's office saying my appointment was on the 2nd, which is when I was first told it would be. The patient portal says the appointment is on the 12th, which is what I was told the second time I was called about the appointment.
My phone’s autocorrect has gone rogue on me, changing valid words to other valid words. Right now it’s favorite is to morph a properly typed “done” to “gone”

Unless those are a third, separate thing
I think we just call them lifting keels, as opposed to fixed keel, so naturally just "the keel" if it's any one boat you're talking about because it is obvious

My wife is insisting that we make "taco roll ups" for Halloween. No one is coming over. I hope she likes eating a pile of cream cheese tortilla with taco seasoning.
It's one of those Midwest abominations people continue to make despite there being much better options.
and I wonder about my neighbors even though I don't have them

Get your own package of seasonings and just make tacos for yourself.

generally it's participating care providers within one state
Allegedly a voice of reason.

it's not really a region. it's specific providers. so if i'm like, i need an endocrinologist, let me see who nearby is covered under my network- i can search a database and find covered doctors. they're ones who accept my insurance as payment.
hopefully one's network is large enough that you can make choices about who you want to see and not be screwed if you don't have a covered specialist nearby for a second opinion or whatever.
ri amerikaner - ride american - sadly seems to lack a translation and is just "heeling"
it's when you're running downwind and you lift the keel, and you heel it by... hang on let me google "ri"... hiking, even though there's no sideways force on the sail, so it tilts towards you, opposite of usual, and you lift the sail as high as possible to catch the wind
likely to get you wet, because it's not like usual hiking where you're balancing against the wind and trying with all your weight and ab strength to get it as level as possible, instead you're doing exactly the same as trying to tip a rowboat but not completely tip it
bit of misbalance, or an unfortunate wave, ploop
EDIT: and it's a very annoying kind of getting dunked in, too. Capsize the usual way, you go welp too much, too much, and you're lifted up and you make a decision about whether or not to start climbing around the bottom of the boat. With amerikaner, you go from nothing to being underwater.

so the second thing then. But without "all over".

Wait... as in something to hand out to kids? I don't really associate that as something special for Halloween...
I occasionally have a hankering for cream cheese inside tortillas (and with low-carb tortillas, it's a nice low carb snack).
I dunno I didn't really play the witcher 3, but that doesn't really look that good? Like it looks like Henry Cavil in a wig.
To be fair I think that's about as good as that character can look with an actor if you follow the design. He's designed according to what a cool goth rocker would look like in 1985.
The hair makes all the difference. And it's possible to have much better looking hair than what we are seeing there.
I’ll admit it’s possible, but the character will still look as silly as the wraith in SG:A. It’s just a super bland and corny concept from the bottom up.
IMHO

it seems like all the halloween parties were last weekend
which is slightly annoying because A. I was working then B. halloween is not actually on this wednesday. All Hallow's Day is the first sunday of november in the norwegian church, so all hallow's eve is on saturday 3rd. Which would mean that the parties could both actually hit the date, but also I could participate if I was so inclined.
mostly the latter thing because I don't actually care that a very newly imported untraditional tradition isn't on the date it is supposed to be or whatever. It's not for kids. It's for adults to dress up and drink heavily with an excuse.
