Auetur theory is a thing. And it's a problem.
Why?
Because it promotes the false assumption that a work of art made by hundreds of people is only the accomplishment of one person, and leads to the work of others being ignored and attributed to the "autuer".
It also ain't great for getting people fair pay or job security, but that's more a specifically vidoe games side effect.
Think about how the closing of the Bioshock studio was talked about/reported on. Or how hardly anyone can spare a word for the people screwed over in the Konami/Kojima mess.
