    Legends is (now) the best.

We're behind on all the other CW shows but keeping up to date on LoT, and have actually just started watching Constantine instead of the new seasons of the others.

Let's just say that there's no way it could be a sequel or a prequel that really makes any sense. And there aren't any time jumps they could cover in the series.

Maybe if it's about some of the side characters? Like Better Call Saul?

    Walter White is dead.

Jesse Pinkman, the other main character, fucking bolted after spending months as a literal chained to the wall slave making meth. He is free from the drug life finally.

There's really not much to do! It was basically resolved perfectly! But also it's a good show and I am wondering what the fuck he is thinking!

the article says it will follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom

so seems to me it's probably just set in the same world and meant to give viewers an idea of what tone and such to expect?

My first reaction to Better Call Saul was also "Okay, but does that really need to happen?" and that has turned out to be amazing (if maybe leaning a little too hard on Breaking Bad in the last 2 seasons), so I'm confident that at least it won't be a story that's entirely unnecessary. Or at least the execution will trick me into thinking it's not unnecessary.

The thing is Better Call Saul gets less and less interesting the more it connects up with Breaking Bad

So an actual full return to it is not particularly exciting, whereas a completely new project from that team would be VERY exciting

    Hot damn, Bodyguard.

    Full Spoilers
Just, damn. A show hasn't had me literally on the edge of my seat that way in a long time.

I knew that episode 3 was a big one, just from the frequency of spoilers in this thread that marked it, but I was still not ready for the swift brutality of the bombing.

It's a show that gives you ample opportunity and reason to mistrust absolutely everyone, even Budd and Vick, but especially Nadya and Budd's boss, who turn out to be the actual culprits. In a weaker show like this one, those two would obviously be the bad guys because they're ostensibly the most trustworthy. Yet in Bodyguard, it's very hard to trust anyone.

There are still tons of opportunities to get in on the mystery in hindsight, though. The only living character by episode 6 who knows so much about Budd's kids IS Nadya. It IS very clear from the frame-by-frame recording that the bomb in episode 3 comes from under the stage, even if it makes you think Samson is deliberately skirting that fact because she's part of the plot. The show's constant diligence in giving you Budd's paranoid, suspicious perspective on the rest of the cast is a masterwork.

I think my favorite moment from the whole series, though, is Budd just dipping the fuck out once he's disarmed the bomb. Not even the suicide fakeout caught me by surprise that much.

Just, god, what a good show.

I'm happy that this season is leaning into Rich Dotcom and Patterson, and

Zapata's entire plotline has just left me feeling meh. The whole thing felt out of left field, and then replacing the villain with Naz but keeping Zapata in felt a bit hackney. Kinda wish they'd kept the daughter as the villain, honestly

Netflix is expanding their lineup of original anime series, announcing Pacific Rim and Altered Carbon

Pacific Rim expands the world of the two live-action films in the franchise, returning to the epic battle of Kaiju and Jaegers
From Legendary Entertainment just like the films
Follows two siblings (an idealistic teen boy and his naïve younger sis) forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger across a hostile landscape in a desperate attempt to find their missing parents
Co-showrunners are Craig Kyle (Thor Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men Evolution)

Altered Carbon is set in the same universe as Netflix's live-action show, the second season of which is mid-production, and will explore new elements of the story mythology
Written by Dai Soto (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo)

so I saw people talking about the Sunny finale and watched the sequence in question

I haven't watched Sunny in about 8 years

what they just did was brave

I've seen shows get called brave before, I've called them brave before, but what I really mean is true, or accurate, or surprising, or just digging deeper than you'd expect

but Sunny just threw caution to the wind, committed hard to something extremely difficult that might have failed at any juncture, and took an honest to God leap of faith in order to do the right thing

    they were brave
