it’s a bit straightforward but I really like that sarkhan
I agree. I also really like saheeli and vraska. Really not a fan of the liliana, but that final fantasy style art was never my favorite. Wtf with all the green ones though? They just sword art onlined all the green planeswalkers. Sorin and tibalt are anime af.
I've got a fuckin' joker trying to buy a pair of my scalding tarns for way under what I could buylist them for because "people only buy magic cards for 60% of TCG low, you're charging way too much"
Back in my day we just looked at each others cards and picked what we wanted and worked something out, with maybe someone looking at a scrye magazine. Smartphones made transactions for fodder rares with 12 year olds like wall street trading.
Also apparently i still had some of my cards from the last time i played and i have a full playset of the m10 lands that were reprinted in dominaria for g/b and b/r, and a couple u/w ones. So thats incredibly helpful.
I’m 99% unambiguously “smartphones are a good thing” but that 1% made me completely disengage from any table trading at all, I just want your foil abzan beastmaster dont fuckin haggle me on twenty-nine cents

Yeah its like dude im the only one in the shop with this card you want, this is a lesson in supply and demand. If you want it for your deck toure playing tonight you can get it, or you can save 50 cents to wait 2 weeks and pay shipping and handling.
Does anyone know how long has MTG been popular in Japan? For some reason I had thought they hadn't tried localizing and selling it there until the mid-00s or even later, but today I found a terrible MTG-inspired concept album from 1999 by some Japanese nerds who later went on to make a bunch of music I really like.
Before foils were a thing my crew used to pimp our decks with Japanese printings in the late 90s
Dunno about the popularity but we had semi easy access to Japanese cards in like 97-98

Eh, I got ripped off pretty bad for my Urza era cards getting back into the hobby by shady fuck boys. I won't fight over a nickel, but we are absolutely getting phones out for trades so I don't run into another "Gaea's Cradles are like 15 bucks, right?" situation.
I also just found out this joker works for the lgs that I hate and is very likely trying to snag these tarns so he can turn around and sell them in the case for $100+

This made me realize that Sorin and Nahiri are fighting each other in their PW art and it's very clear when you look at the two Japanese ones side by side.

The japanese planeswalkers are pretty cool except for any that involve women who look like their faces are blank canvases of skin with eyes. I know it's the style but it looks really weird to compare Jaya with the other women in the set. That being said, I do love the scrolls coming out of the frame on my favorite planeswalker, Tamyo.

castaway jace, oath of teferi and new bolas is an infinite combo that destroys your opponent's entire hand and board and creates as many 2/2s as you can manage before decking yourself
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)

This is the kind of deck you spend way too many wildcards on and then sit in the play queues begging for just one win so that you never have to play it again.
It's pretty hilarious to watch that deck do its thing in Arena because once there's a couple of Jaces and like a dozen Bolii they all are yammering at the same time while the other side of the board dwindles away to nothing

I'm fond of Japanese Kaya.
both doing stuff with colour and composition that you just don't see in both the regular sets, and the other promos
you'd never get something like how saheeli's coming in at a jaunty angle
Liliana sure. But I'd personally put Ashiok, Sorin Tibalt, and Vraska on that list before Arlinn.

Oh good. I was wondering how many artists exactly also did art for Fire Emblem Heroes.
EDIT: The answer was 4.
