The wonderful clusterfuck that is WrestleMania weekend is coming along nicely.
Impact scheduled a show, co-promoted with House of Glory, called "Culture Clash" on April 4th at 8pm in Jamaica, Queens (NYC Arena). MLW has a show scheduled for 7pm in LIC, Queens (Melrose Ballroom). They're also sharing talent (most notably Lucha Bros). That makes for a tight time-frame of travel for the wrestlers and a tough choice for fans who want to attend both shows. So how do they remedy this mess?
To Rahway, NJ. At 11pm. Which...okay, good luck with that.
This is also the home venue of WrestlePro, and they're co-promoting the re-branded show, now called "United We Stand," with Impact.

I used to go to Rahway for ROH shows iirc but to take that trip for anyone who's here for mania is too far. and at that hour?
I'm currently still thinking I am gonna go to mania. don't have tickets yet though. my buddy is going for sure with a friend of his but I wouldn't be sitting with them. I'm already going to the RoH show that weekend I think (my cousin got tickets)
it’s wild that the dude who hates hokey shit was wwe’s bugs bunny post-shield breakup
By all accounts it wasn't that he always hated hokey shit, it was just that was all he ever got to do (even during his big long-teased heel turn he's done shit like dress up as a Halloween department store budget Bane, have his entrance theme be "fixed" to have a more intentionally-annoying siren than Cesaro's, and make fun of local sports teams and fans' smells) and eventually he got sick of it
Only thing I've seen or heard him do that wasn't intentionally designed to make him look like an idiot and/or comedian was the time he was scripted to make fun of his IRL best friend's cancer coming back. Yeah, can't imagine why he doesn't want to extend his contract right now
Beyond the fact that he beats people up for a living, he even went outside the rules for how you're allowed to beat people up when he won the title with a low blow. And also hired/convinced a giant man to beat down his unaware opponent to retain the title. I'd call all of that violent.
Bryan's a heel because he's an asshole who's more interested in demonstrating how above the common man he is than in any of the causes he purports to espouse.

Yeah, I'm sorta thinking I might try for last minute WM tickets depending on the cost. Currently I have Takeover, and I'm eyeing the Evolve shows. Has anyone done them in previous WM years?
After watching the KENTA tag match I posted earlier I checked out Naomichi Marafuji vs. Okada from King of Pro-Wrestling and it's fucking awesome. Marafuji is using, essentially, the V-Trigger before Kenny made it a thing. His chops are monstrous and fucks up Okada's chest something fierce. Definitely worth checking out.
I don't doubt Itami's leaving, and it's probably the best thing for him. I think I'll believe Dean's gone when it actually happens, given that they put him in a chair in the ring and had him prepare to make an announcement, and given that they've actively talked about it on official company channels.
And after what Sandow got up to after he left, I'm taking all "they didn't like the hokey shit!" reports with a gigantic grain of salt

MLW and Impact announce a partnership for the weekend, and Impact agrees to move their show!

KENTA & Marafuji vs. Ricky Marvin vs. Juventud
It's fast paced from the get go and a ton of fun throughout.

He's a hypocrite.
Does being drunk off his ass and singing Sweet Caroline in the stands count as hokey?
Comics, Games, Booze
So he's a violent homophobic, sexist, racist?

You can't tell by looking at it. I am currently wearing a fully vegan knit sweater, with fully vegan pleather shoes.
The sweater is fully vegan or it was fully knitted by a vegan?

I dunno where to get that exact shirt, but my partner did buy me one of these recently: https://greenboxshop.us/collections/your-favorites/products/why-be-racist-when-u-could-be-quiet?variant=3277954449434
Looks like the belt Aleister Black would wear.
I don't think aries would ever wear that shirt

Evolve shows usually range from good to fine.

Holy shit!
They do need to put him up against someone who isn't a conservative schmuck like AJ, so it is a bit more clear that he is the heel though.

that’s the worst tweet i’ve ever seen i think
Also New Japan added a new event in Nagoya to their calendar for April. Scheduled for 4/20 it's called Sengoku Lord
