Not sure about cutting back on Risk Factors when running Experimental.
Seems like graveyard playing a Risk is a good way to get the land off the top of the deck so you can keep milling yourself with steamkins.
I think Risk Factor + Frenzy is fine but the problem is that it becomes extremely easy for an opppnent to say "draw the cards" in that situation, especially if they're about to turn the corner. Both are good reach for if games go late while still being better in an aggro shell, but specifically playing risk factor while experimental frenzy is onboard is a bit underwhelming.

So that would be a really great thing, right? But you cant evaluate the card in a vacuum, or worse, in a specific situation like this.
Think about what would need to happen for this to help you. If you previously cast risk factor, and you had 3 mana left, and you already played a land, and the top card of your library is a land, then you want to cast it. And the only thing it does is let you cast the next card right now, if you have mana for that too.
That's why it's the kind of card pair that you see folks hedge on, including just a pair of one or the like. It can be good occasionally, but if you draw both cards in a lot of games, or multiples of them, they can often be entirely dead.
risk factor early on usually doesn't help you much since most folks will take the face dmg
which is nice but doesn't help your tempo if you're behind

Risk Factor really shines in decks like Red Deck Wins which is trying to get in super fast and kill by turn 4-5 so take the damage or give more gas becomes a huge concern, and also is mostly burn and haste creatures, so even if you don't take the 4 you need a plan for the damage they almost certainly just drew into.
If you play risk factor with frenzy going, it's an easy choice for your opponent. You just draw 3 cards you can't use.
If you are in a position where you can use risk factor to remove the second mountain on the top of your library and keep going, you are also in a position to just blow up frenzy and use your hand full of cards too for 1 more mana. If you have that much mana to spend in a turn you should have about a full hand.
Not saying risk factor is bad, it is a great card. But it is a pretty terrible card with frenzy going. Speaking of RDW, you gotta watch this game.
4-1 with the jeskai teferi control in comp constructed right now. Planning to finish that tonight on stream and then do another core 19 draft. I like that draft environment so far, it seems neat, but I'm terrible at it so help would be appreciated. I've noticed luminous bonds seems to show up pretty often.

Hey @Surfpossum when and where do we need to submit decklists for the tourney?

I'm not even sure I'm in the tournament, despite registering on the site with the link. I can't seem to see the tourney anymore.

As an aside, my sideboard for my deck is sort of hilarious because it's a mix of stuff that genuinely belongs and stuff where I just had to fill in gaps because I'm still assembling all the wildcards I need to flesh out the deck the way I want.

I wasn't planning on having people submit decklists because we're all honorable gentlewalkers; I think there was talk of posting lists in the thread afterward for discussion, which I think would be cool.

Guys.
I just completed the quest "Cast 20 green or white spells."
Why is this remarkable?
I have been doing nothing but playing my thef of sanety deck.

The bites are covering a pair of Drakes that I really don't care about. All my damage is going to FACE. (I won.)
I can't remember the last time my Rakdos Burn lost to a Drake or Phoenix deck. I know it's happened, but usually when I get atrocious draws.
I've lost a couple, but the matchup does seem to be in my favour.
In the mirror, or vs mono red, it boils down to 'did I draw and cast my bites' a lot of the time. That and outplaying, knowing when to trade creatures, when to point burn at face over creatures, etc.

I got lucky with my pulls yesterday and got a mythic wildcard, so now I have my whole set of History of Benalia. So the mainboard of my GW token deck is nearly complete, aside from some (admittedly crucial) lands and maybe one more Trostani or Shalai.

Registered, I'm on GMT though, so apologies in advance for timing. How many rounds did we want to get through tonight?
I think it's just however you and your first round opponent can schedule. I'll probably only be able to to do 1 before I have to head to a birthday party for my wife.
Duress to poke holes in their hand cheaply, Blood Fast as a card draw engine, Disdainful Stroke and Negate to more cheaply counter what they're going to play, Eldest Reborn or Plaguecrafter to punish them for tapping out for wincon cards, The Immortal Sun as a funny card if you think they'll be greedy and tap out for walkers wothout non-walker wincons, siding out your creature removal to put this stuff in.
Unmoored Ego is super questionable. It's not card advantage, it just gets rid of one specific card. Generally, control will board in another win condition or have multiple to begin with; getting rid of Teferi might be good, but it's not a game winner if your opponent still drops Niv Mizzet or Ral and you can't keep up, or can still flip an Azor's Gateway, or just drops Lyra.
Ego is good if the deck is unable to effectively change wincons or relies on a specific card (e.g. hitting turbofog's Teferi or Nexus), or if the deck is an all in combo you can disrupt (e.g. pre-Sai Aetherflux Storm), but not great if you "just" pay 3 mana to make the opponent have a slightly less nut draw in a resilient deck
