So I decided to check out Fallout 76 since it dropped on gamepass recently and...holy shit it's a mess there? I'm not sure if the Steam version is just different or what, but the game gets super weird about running off any drive other than the one where Windows is installed and the framerate is absolutely terrible (I have a 1080 Ti and it seemed to be running at a stuttery 40ish fps). Anyone else having similar issues?
Are you running it fullscreen? The engine locks the framerate to like 30fps if you’re running windowed or borderless.
My god I thought getting fallout 4 on my brand new pc and installing it to ssd would improve load times. But they’re still absolutely ridiculous, 30-60 seconds or more for some transitions.
I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t give me the image to scroll around with the tip for these load screens, just a black screen with the small loading icon
I’ve tried all the fixes, disabling cloud saving, setting uncapped frame rates, running in windowed borderless mode, still nothing. It loads my saved game in like 5 seconds but going from an interior to exterior is 60 seconds at best with no tip screen and picture to indicate that it should be a long load
Edit: ok got it working with a mod, hope the mod doesn’t disable achievements tho
SCORE PSA: Double daily SCORE starts tomorrow, the 23rd.
Here's a chart that approximates progress, not counting double EXP or SCORE events.
It's worth noting that the extra two daily challenges (up to 9) have just been confirmed to be a permanent addition. That means you can probably get away with being a lower rank than on the sheet, which I think is still assuming 7 dailies. Worth waiting for it to update its numbers before anyone panics that they're behind.
ETA: Got rid of massive chart image quote, sorry. Here's a link straight to the sheet in recompense.
Sweet. That spreadsheet is awesome. Honestly, with the extra bonuses coming in, if you're playing daily you shouldn't be hard pressed to hit 100, which is nice.
I just hit level 50 last night, with a few weeklies to go still.

Think I'm at 47, with one of this week's weeklies done. Hoping with the bonus challenges I can get away with ignoring most of the NW ones and still come out about where I need to be.
Soon to be dipping my toes into sole proprietorship
Is that the Secret Service armour? I finally finished Wastelanders and started getting treasury notes, so...is it worth saving for? Picked up the Grocers backpack mod and that saved me about 60-70lb of carry weight, too.
So the challenge with the Secret Service armor is not the bullion to get the recipes, it's the constant rolling with legendary modules to get the pieces that you really want.

I just got the secret service chest piece so I could use the Jet Pack, which is currently I think the only non-power armor jet pack

Just the helmet in that shot, the rest of it is a mix of Urban and Forest scout. I run around with the Secret Service torso for the jet pack most of the time, but I like the scout armor better for aesthetics.

The new BOS themed daily raids are live in the test server for PC players. There’s different ranks for time completed, with different random modifiers for enemy types. They should arrive for everyone with the next big patch which should come sometime in September

Can you get gold bullion from them?
Even if its a lil, hell, I'd do it.
I only play on PS4 so don’t know exactly, but there are new camp item rewards such as one that removes all diseases, the new Season is also in the test server but you can’t unlock any of the rewards. There’s also new daily ops public teams which increase XP, also the way the missions run the more players near the objective the faster it’s completed and the higher tier reward, also guaranteed legendary drops. I’m assuming they’re going to change rewards by the time it hits public servers though

Looks like they're adding some stuff from the first season to gold bullion vendors too, which is nice.
You can get the ammo converter and chicken coop with gold now.
Enjoying the Secret Service armor so far - got the chest piece and a limb, and the t-notes for another limb later today. No jetpack yet, but you can't have everything. Dislike the random rolls with legendary modules generally, but also I guess it's kind of fun, so...call that even. The DR is amazing compared to the scout/combat armour I had before, though. Feeling properly tanky.
Does the helmet do anything though? 1250 bullion for an aesthetic seems like..a lot.

Helmet has focused lighting instead of using Pipboy light (like the Miner Helmet) and looks cool, isnt good for anything else and yeah the price is dumb.
I still got it because I wanted a non crap looking helmet with focus light, though.
It also prevents airborne and waterborne diseases, and the light on it is way better than your pipboy.
I got it. It's nice. I'm swimming in so much bullion now that I just don't care. I needed to buy something.

Got no problems with them nerfing damage formula. This game is desperately in need of massive balance changes, although you could say that about most TES and Fallout games.
i recently booted fo76 up again since about a month after launch. it runs much smoother than at launch on ps4. but man it is such a chore to level. after a week im only lvl 19. stuff like fusion cores are already gone every where i go, and the early weapons SUCK. having npcs is ok but mostly underwhelming. i wanted to give it another go but it just isnt interesting to deal with all the weight crap and finding screws and lead to repair/make ammo. i hope Starfield is more interesting...
I assuming since you're complaining about screws and fusion cores, you're using power armor? That's a pretty hefty upkeep at low level, especially until you get some perks that reduce the cost to build and maintain it, as well as reduce the weight of fusion cores, and extend their duration.

Seems like you can get up to three treasury notes for each primal cuts event taking place every 15 minutes. Didn't catch if I got any notes from the meat cook event itself though yet.
Edit: You get three from the main event.
Between this and Colossal Problem, you guys might want to get your ass on this week and start farming some gold bullion before Meat Week is over and Colossal Problem starts slowing down more.

Running a melee no power armor build has been great for me, hardly any upkeep, and make a decent profit from selling ammo to players. Only downside is when it comes to fighting flying enemies like scorchbeasts. I do hope they allow swappable perk builds eventually
I am so jealous, it's untrue. I have...four spaces to go. Ironically, would be three, but I lost a day of the last double score weekend to The Glitch.
Honestly, don't think I'll make the effort again for one of these, now that I have a baseline of how much effort is involved.
The rewards are nice, don't get me wrong. But doing the daily challenges and the daily quests basically ate my window of gaming time, meaning I never actually played the game. Will rest on my laurels once done with this one, I think, and just ignore any more, unless they revamp how the system structure works.
If, for example, all the dailies were available as weekly goals instead, I'd probably log on, see what there was, see what I felt like doing that day, and do some stuff. But leveraging FOMO by making the goals only completable on a specific day has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Just commemorating that it took me 56 days of Legendary Run madness to finish it.
I am never, ever doing that again. It was way more time consuming than enjoyable.
For now, Dobby is free.
Might finish up the settlers rep, as I'm about a day away from Ally, and cash in some of the T-Notes from Meat Week for the last Secret Service limb I need, but, seriously. Going to go play something else for a while. That burned me out.

As far as I can see, you need to remember not to be logged in over reset, or have last logged out via Nuclear Winter prior to reset to avoid this.
A frustrating start to the day!

Yeah, had that happen as well. Only had 2 dailies available >_<
I logged out to add a support ticket to the pile, pre-reset, and honestly, I’m now a little afraid to log back in.

Also, had this drop, and there was only one possible name for it.
"Cork? Why would we need cork? What kind of fucking idiot told you to do that?"

Burn, OP bloodied builds! Burn!
The helmet doesn't prevent waterborne diseases, only airborne. I wear a Secret Service helmet with scout armor, and got parasites while wading around.
The wendigos that spawn around the big boy during the event drops lots of them.
Also, good lord, that thing is beefy...Lost all my big gun ammunition on it.
Atleast it can't fly, I guess.
Is it worth doing? The rewards (via reddit datamining) seem a bit meh, but maybe I'm missing something?
