Now that I think of it, a friend of mine does a 48 film every year in Boston. Maybe I’ll look into doing that with him next time. Tough to get that much time being married with a kid. Damn priorities
A documentary by a woman who made a movie in Singapore when she was a teenager...and then the prints disappear. And thus the movie is never finished. The doc is about her growing up with her friends and the situations in Singapore that led to their indie punk opus Shirkers and then the 20 some odd years of trying to find it and make it.
I'm trying to keep it vague; it's not like there's a big twist and you can kinda figure out pretty early on what happened to the footage but it's not a twist but I figure people might like to just come in blind.
Anyway, it's good.

Yo, I have done these for almost five years now? Maybe longer?
They are a blast and for someone like me who studied film but isn't working in the industry, it refills my passion bucket (so to speak).

Also, last night my roommate sat me down and showed me Tombstone, a film I have never actually seen.
And, hey, that film has the single greatest cast I have ever seen in a movie.
So Mortal Engines is looking to be the flop of the year.
I dunno, Robin Hood could give it a run for its money?
I believe Mortal Engines had a LOT bigger budget
But has a more original plot. And I've heard that though people are rating it low, some people, even some in this thread, have said that it's not that bad. However, I've heard literally nothing good about Robin Hood at all from anyone ever.

Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
glorifying police violence, even in a farcical context, feels
a lot worse a decade later
but i still love that movie
Imo it only ever worked because the character is presented as uncorruptable and the situation is so utterly insane. On top of that he still manages not to kill anyone

Hot Fuzz is condemning police violence, which is why Nick is able to get the entire situation in hand without killing a single person. That's how cops should be comporting themselves.

I almost put Pale Rider on mine but I couldn't justify replacing any of those 5
But boy I love Pale Rider

I think the only Cornetto trilogy movie that I'd want to see a sequel to is The World's End
Like, Hot Fuzz would make more sense than Shaun of the Dead, but I feel like it would just fall into the trap of being a normal buddy cop flick, y'know?
Also it's my least favorite of the three, which is definitely affecting things here
