why the fuck is he talking about this on a podcast
I mean, it's not as awkward or embarrassing as the past five years of Gearbox's output.
I only briefly looked at the news story, but I kinda feel like a podcast hosted by consensual unaffiliated people is a more appropriate place than others, to talk about the content of sex workers or kinks.
I don't inherently think discussions about porn should be strictly private.
Looks like he showed up to a Stage Magician's podcast to talk about losing their pervy USB drive . Not really the material I would want to listen to on a podcast as a listener.
I think telling your employees at work about the porn you look at would be worse.
It's super tacky and yeah, the fetishization of barely legal adults is gross too.
So I feel like it's bad in this instance, but maybe broader discussions about sex and other taboos on NSFW podcasts are alright for public figures to do?
I have poked fun on Randy Pitchford in the past, but hopefully the child pornography claims by the fired employee are found to be without evidence. Otherwise, fuck that guy.

I am a coward who downloaded a custom literal Kenshiro start just so I can get my bearings on the systems without getting trampled by mobs of bandits every 5 minutes and if anything it's made me want to get to the point where I can punch people's arms off in a legitimate game.

As a fellow coward, I would love to know where I too could acquire this custom start

It and a bunch of other useful stuff (like weight benches) are on the workshop.
I’m looking for some game recommendations. I’m preferably looking for something high fantasy or a similar aesthetic, and I really dislike games with real time pause (like pillars of eternity). Open world is generally not my thing (no skyrim or witcher recs please). Lots of character builds or skill trees are a plus.
I normally like jrpg style games but something like dark messiah of might and magic or what not is good.
Any ideas? I’ve been digging through steam to no success so far. I’ve been Bouncing off a lot of stuff.

Divinity Original Sin 1&2 are real good, but real long RPGs. They're isometric turn-based RPG/strategy.

Cosmic Star Heroine is a very nice 12hish game that does new things with combat. Looks like a sci-fi Chrono Trigger
Undertale
Half-Minute Hero is basically a runbased jrpg where you need to make the most out of 30 seconds at a time. (There are ways to get more time)
Chrono Trigger itself isn't that long. Though it has "true ending" stuff. HLTB says 23ish hours.
The first South Park game essentially plays as a mario rpg. Your experience is 90% reliant how you feel about South Park. I didn't play the second one.

I've already played Zodiarcs. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Regalia does sound interesting. Can you sell it to me a bit more?
Fell Seal is in early access, and I have a policy of not buying early access single player games. It looks neat though.
Cosmic Star has been on my wish list for a while. I should probably try it.
I've already played Undertale (good game), Half-minute hero on my psp years ago (30 second hero good, rest of the game modes meh), Chrono Tigger years and years ago (good enough game), and I'm not a fan of South Park at all.
Isometric games turn based rpgs like Baulder's gate and its ilk are so rarely my thing. Thanks though.

Pier Solar is a modern jrpg that was made for the Genesis that's been released on Steam. Not sure if it's any good though because I don't believe it's EVER gone on sale.

If you want really short (< 10 hour) jrpg like games, there's Breath of Death VII and Cthulhu Saves the World. They're designed to be short 16-bit-esque games with a very shallow plot that focuses on poking fun at classic jrpg plotlines, but solid classic rpg mechanics.
An out there thing, but ADGQ ran FF IV Free Enterprise, which is a randomized FF IV that among other things removes random encounter and randomizes just about everything. It also allows you to travel freely from the start.
Their expert play comes in at about 2h, I'd guess a newbie would do it in 6 or so?

I don't know if I'd call Battle Chasers short, it's anywhere from 30-40 good hours, but it's a pretty rad JRPG

Dragon's dogma is open world but it's not that big so it won't be overwhelming and kinda fit most of your criteria

I did Dragon's Dogma when it came out. I fell off the game because I probably did a terrible build and couldn't kill anything, and also I was looking for a story and couldn't seem to find one. A sequel to it would be so nice though. Maybe I should try dark arisen on pc? what improvements does it make?

I tried this game too. It was a lot of what I wanted, but I actually had major issues with how long and slow every encounter went (and there are so many) that by the time I made it to the dungeon after you have your full party, I was having several minute hard fights each encounter and they just were too much. It's a game that if they had a fast forward button I'd have probably played longer. It was cool though.

Have you played the Trails in the Sky games? Lengthwise they're about 30-40 hours each.

I didn't like Sky 1, so I never touched 2/3. I have played Cold Steel 1 and 2, and am hyped for 3 and 4 because they will definitely come out west at some point (please?)

Has anyone here played Tyranny?
I was trying to do the Bastard's Wound DLC and the enemies in the dungeon annihilate my party like nothing else.
My team is around level 13, is that too early to do this?

Really fun game, like a Magicka-lite, with more forgiving but deadly combat and overall just more friendly gameplay.
It even rates you based on how well you completed the level.
Apparently we had a bit of a civil war!

Came out of Early Access last month: https://store.steampowered.com/app/233860/Kenshi/
one method is fiddling with Steam files (might be against the TOS), the other is a trainer.
e: checked the trainer file with virustotal, 2/70 scanners report malware, spybot came back negative. Might be false positives?

However they have been trying to update and improve it but I'm not sure how much and to what extent.

At the time of this video save spots are bugged in a way that prevents the use of several of them. The DS version is still the best way to play it.

I've very very played Cross Code (I've done several no major glitch speed runs of the game). Big fan of it.
