Far Cry new installation: no mouse?

Hey guys, I just re-installed the original Far Cry today and was looking forward to getting my FPS on. I installed no problem, downloaded and installed the full 1.4 patch and launch the game. Everything works great, I tweak my settings and start the game, so far so good, except as I'm starting, I realize, mouselook isn't working! I go back out to the menu, I have a cursor, my settings are right... on paper, everything seems normal, but once again, go back to the game, and I get no response from my mouse at all.
Anyone know what could cause this/how to fix it, or had this problem before?
All my other games and my mouse are fine, I don't know what I'm overlooking, if anything.

Go to the controls menu and click on the restore deaults option. Mouselook should now work. Bizzare eh?
I made a game, it has penguins in it. It's pay what you like on Gumroad.
Currently Ebaying Nothing at all but I might do in the future.
