Lots of very unorthodox runs, like Baba Is You, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, Half-Life: Alyx (have they ever done a VR game before?) and a blindfold run of SSB64 Break The Targets for all characters, which will potentially be very interesting or very not.
And the finale is...Pokemon Shield any%. Probably the least exciting one in recentr memory.
Oh sweet, a One Step from Eden run (for those who haven't heard of it, it's a Battle Network roguelike basically).
Also lolwut, Warframe?
Gunvolt Chronicles I'll have to catch the replay of, but Copen just moves really well so it should be fun.
1% Hard Metroid Fusion Race ought to be a good time.
What on earth is that BotW category?
Maybe they'll make it fun, but unfortunately it's not as interesting as it sounds.
If you feed any of the dogs in BOTW some food, they will walk over to some treasure and dig it up. So it's basically just a lot of running and menuing, but BOTW traversal is cool and the dogs are pretty spread out
I mean, you literally can't speedrun it, but still, yes.
Most of the 'awful block' is like this, which is opinions regarding the awful block widely vary
I genuinely think it's a blast, and a very impressive technical achievement for a game that was originally made as an interactive VHS movie for a system which never came to exist(the NEMO).
There's some scenes in the game where one character leaves from one room and seamlessly walks into the next.
One problem with the true ending is that the player won't be able to show off a lot of the best scenes in the game. It requires you to get EVERY Aug, meaning you'll miss a chunk of the story.

There's an Alien Isolation run. Gonna have to skip that for spoilers' sake. I want to experience that game as purely as possible.

You might not think a puzzle game like Baba is You is very speedrunable, but it lets you move as fast as you can press the buttons. Obviously the speedrun then turns into memorization and correct execution of rapid inputs rather than solving puzzles.

Oh yeah I’m sure it’s runnable, but doesn’t seem terribly engaging at first glance, unless there are some truly insane solutions out there that aren’t necessarily developer intended.
Generally, a good runner or couch commentary can make what would otherwise be a dull game speed run magical.
I was watching some older runs from some event or another and the Sonic block was super bumming me out. The runner themself seemed goofy and fun, but someone on their couch had declared themself the God Emperor of 'Um, actually' and were just RELENTLESS about talking over people and issuing completely obnoxious and meaningless corrections. Someone would be like "I think this enemy is unique to this one part and..." Then like clockwork Emperor Um IX would jump all over them with some factoid (spoken in a dull and condescending tone) which would completely kill the flow for a while. And no one ever told them to shut up with the Buzz Killington stuff.
I'm happy to see Baba is You, because it will certainly introduce the game to more people. And I doubt first time watchers will actually learn many puzzle solutions from watching a speedrun, so if they think the game is interesting enough, hopefully they will play the game themselves.
A 'True Ending' run will definitely spoil one of the game's biggest tricks, though. But that's also neat enough that I could see it getting more people interested.

Having your emergency key to deactive nuclear weapons work in that way is absolutely insane

The game wears out its welcome very fast, but it's worth experiencing once.

Just the DLC too, and I definitely anticipate a lot of ‘here’s a weapon you literally never thought of using before but is actually an absolute beast
Good idea, because the game rules. It's a little too long, perhaps, but damn is it an experience.

Heh, it's a really cool retro-style FPS, you can go REAL fast in it even without all these speedrun tricks
the ribbit king one is cute though so maybe
It is less insane than the fact that the passcode to a number of nuclear launch sites was all 1s because they never changed it from the default.
